I read the original mini in TPB format and it sucked and is the patient zero for a huge amount of AIDS and Cancer such as the Inhuman push and everything involving it. But what really sticks in my craw is how earlier in this thread he was bitching about The Batman not having comic-accurate costumes for some of its characters, but when it comes to the former movie he doesn't care, even though, as our very own @RockVolnutt described, the movie is making some pretty significant deviations from Jack Kirby's original vision.

Hypocrisy like this has always been a personal irritation of mine. If I may powerlevel a bit, I used to frequent a comic book/comic book movie discussion site where many of the users were constantly sucking the MCU's dick while simultaneously bashing any DC or third-party Marvel adaptation, and took criticism of the former as heresy. Furthermore, they were much more willing to excuse deviations from the source material in MCU movies than similar or even smaller deviations in other Marvel or DC movies. Bob reminds me a lot of the users of that site (which I long since abandoned), so seeing him post the sort of takes that he's posting irks me to no end.

Gotta disagree there. I don't like the inhumans push Marvel started doing with the Terrigen Mist bullshit either, but that was WAY later, back in the 2010's I belive, and earth X is from 1999, I don't recall the Inhumans having any big spot light in the Marvel stuff till then, when they were tagged to replace the x-men.

As for Alex Ross not being the inside artist for Earth X... I say good, I like Ross' covers alright, but as a inside artist, not so much. I was fine with John Paul Leon, and he managed to bring some pretty awesome imagery.

You probably know more about the implications Earth X had on Marvel comics than I do, and maybe it was the start of some bad ideas, but taken as it is, I think Earth X is a pretty good take on what would happen if the entire world suddenly got superpowers.

Rogen really is like the sort of individual that is a bit too eager to embrace a new norm or new regime just so the axe won't come down on his head. In addition to the sex pest shit, one of this guy's most defining scenes revolved entirely around "Wanna know how I know you're gay?" He's one to talk about jokes not being palatable to the insatiable Woke crowd these days. The movie is using the widely reviled retcon of Earth X, a piss poor Kingdom Come rip off mini-series Marvel commissioned written by Jim Kreuger and Alex Ross (but mainly Krueger, who wrote the plot based on notes/character designs and generic "what if Kingdom Come happened in the Marvel Universe?" style notes/character bios).

Earth X retconned the Celestials from being above good and evil evolutionary stewards into genocidal space robot/gods that explicitly plant baby celestials into planetary cores and then "seed life" IE the eternals, deviants, and mutants to "protect" the planets until the celestial is fully born and destroys the planet and kills everyone on the planet when it happens.

(Oh and the Watchers are a literal slave race, as the Celestials made them serve as wardens/protectors of the planets serving as incubators for celestials due to the fact that the Watchers failed to kill Galactus when he was being birthed, as far as retconning Galactus as a literal universal coat hanger who destroys worlds in order to feed on the world killing unborn celestials. And that the Watcher Uatah in particular, only intervenes to protect earth like he does, because he's been enslaved and tasked with protecting Earth until the baby celestial inside of it wakes and kills the planet. )

Earth X also was the place where Marvel came up with the idea of the Inhumans going super evil and spraying the planet with terrigan mists due to their desire to become the master race of the planet. And Jonathan Hickman and other writers got the idea of turning Black Bolt into a full on fascist type God King who does all sorts of evil shit in the name of "preserving and advancing" the Inhuman race.

Bitcoin mining involves users ("miners") monitoring Bitcoin transactions to ensure fraud isn't perpetrated. As each transaction is audited, verified, and added to Bitcoin's public ledger of transactions, you earn Bitcoins, which you can then spend, creating new transactions that can be audited to generate Bitcoin. It is a complicated process and I couldn't follow all of it, but if you would like to learn more, this and this are good places to start.

The takeaway as far a Bob is concerned is this: none of the people he loathes will lose money. A Bitcoin crash has been a looming specter for years, and all but the most unwise of investors have prepared for it. It was and killed sales so fucking bad that DC had to pull the plug on both Superman books shipping twice a month AND fire Bendis from the book (and kill his abortion of a Legion reboot). Made even worse by the fact that Superman was seeing a renaisance under Jurgan and Tomasi with Superman being a dad and fans were eagerly expecting/waiting for Geoff Johns to bring back the Legion after a rather substantial hiatus the characters were put on when DiDio killed their book early on in the New 52.

Bendis did something that no writer had ever succeeded in doing. He made me hate the Legion of Super-Heroes, and I had a high tolerance for the godawful third Levitz run from after Legion of Three Worlds through the New 52 as well as the equally-appalling Legion Lost from that same period. What really annoyed me was how that Bendis thought of himself as someone with an original vision of the team. Earth destroyed sometime before the 31st century? Giffen and Bierbaums did that in the 5YL/Legionnaires era. Race swap Lightning Lad and Light/ning Lass? Bitch, please. Waid did that with Star Boy for Threeboot. Plus, Bendis could never bother to research the Legion's history to learn that there were other black members of note like Tyroc (whom Levitz rehabilitated in Vol. 6), both Kid Quantums, and XS--who actually appeared at the end of Josh Williamson's Flash run. Would it have killed him to include some of the nonhuman members like Tellus or Gates...

It really astounds me how anyone believed that Bendis was ever a good writer when he was always mediocre at best. The Legion is a team that needs a certain kind of writer that can handle an exceptionally large cast. Every character he writes speaks with the exact same voice. Similarly, the team has a noticeable sci-fi bent and Bendis was only ever marginally good at street level shit. I know there are people that hate what he's doing on Green Lantern, but I would nominate Geoffrey Thorne as he has a sci-fi background both in print and on television. I even asked him if he'd ever want to write the title on one of Perch's livestreams, but admitted that he couldn't do it and GL at the same time yet showed that he had the passion for it. Also, I would like to add that Marvel really screwed him when in came to promoting Mosaic.

Anyway, Bendis is a hack that shouldn't be allowed near any big or small properties.
