Lmao, Phil deciding that he wanted to be a Jewtuber sealed his fate, he probably would be happier and saner if he got a actual job.

I don't think so, because there's a reason he never bothered with a 9-5 after it became clear to him that he could be an internet clown for a living instead. He had already been fired from several real jobs, and he didn't want to go through any more of that.

A normal person would be better off, yes, but Phil is not normal. His life before was hell, and worse than the hell he inhabits now.

In a way, DSP has the strongest support network for his addiction possible and still can't bear to stop dropping hundreds of dollars weekly on GIFs that aren't permanent

That's because his support network is laughing at him, and Phil doesn't respond to stuff like that with any other than spiteful antics. Even if he wasn't an addict, he would keep playing this shit just to "own the trolls". The guy is utterly combative, and thinks nothing of hurting himself in the process.

TBH most addicts would consider a thread like this a godsend, hundreds of messages explaining how they're being taken advantage of, why it's a stupid idea, alternatives and solutions.

Most addicts haven't spent years being the butt of every joke on YT. I dare say that would pose a problem even without Phil's childishness.

I'm pretty sure this thread is the one thread Phil probably dosent read because it probably hurts his ego a bit too much to remind himself what a pathetic and addicted person he has become.

According to him, he has read the whole thing, and I believe it because Phil lives in a false reality. This thread doesn't make him feel like a loser, at least not for more than a second, before the denial kicks in. He also has to stay ahead of what he know, and he does exactly that, that's why we have such great footage of him looking all pissed as he recognizes the references that show up in chat. Aside from when his name change was discovered, that is. It was probably after that that he realized he needed to keep up with this thread, because after that, he stayed on top of things, clearly. He knew to act like he didn't what LINE was, for example. His acting was bad, but at least he still managed to lie. Quite a contrast from when DownFromTheRafters appeared in chat, where his eyes about popped out of his head.

Waiting til end of competition to calculate dsp’s score. He’s already 200 dollars behind 10th place to get Alexa Bliss...

They're definitely getting a high from controlling what Phil streams if they have no issues with this. I mean if I had no morals, and were considerably dumber, I still wouldn't be handing Phil money unless I got off on it because it granted me some power over him.

Fortunately, Phil can be counted on to burn all those bridges eventually. The only thing that can stop that is dying first, which is clearly not his plan.

Based on this thread, even the actual whales bitched about how obscene $36,000 to max VIP was, while DSP is at least around $12k spent, which makes him a very high percentile of both cash and time invested into the game. He struggles to get in the 3 digits in these event rankings, meanwhile I'm finding references to pure F2P players charting in the top 5K off of good gameplay alone early in the game's development, before the last of the F2P-friendly features were gutted. I imagine most of the people he's directly competing with nowadays are blowing $50-$100 (still absurd), where he's dropping Clevelands.
I guess that whole "DSP sucks shit at videogames" thing extends into the types of games he actually wants to play, huh?

I always laugh when I see play of champions. Every marathon donation seems to end up going into champions like TJ and others have said. Solid money reference but feel like it deserves a brit equivalent. I don't want them grinding their soft brown teeth trying to figure out where you are going.

There has been an incredibly consistent pattern with his Champions spending - when donations are up, his spending is up; when donations are down, so is his spending. This makes me think he is paying mainly or exclusively with cash-on-hand since we'd be seeing random spikes independent of donations if he were putting this on credit cards. It also tells me he's got enough self-awareness/self-preservation to set aside money for necessities like the mortgage and utilities. In short he is not using credit cards for this game or to cover his other expenses to free up money for it; it is fun to imagine him repeating the exact same mistake but we just don't have proof of that. This might change in a few more years when he becomes eligible for cards with reasonable APR again or has a real slowdown in donations but he is not there yet.

I also do not believe he is preparing for a second fraudulent bankruptcy. One of the most consistent aspects of Phil's behavior is his complete lack of foresight - he still has not learned to set money aside for taxes and believes even after a bankruptcy caused by his credit card debt that minimum payments are the way to go. Phil's not a secret genius, he's just a grifter - he has talked about how he avoided interest via kiting credit cards so I fully expect that screwing that up was a huge part of why he filed bankruptcy.

I'm torn on this, because while you are right, Phil has demonstrated that the only thing he'll exert himself on is attempts to pull some greasy shit. Then again, it doesn't really take planning to be of the intent to just file again when he inevitably needs to. He can easily just do as he does, wind up owing a ton of money again, and resort to the same strategy because it worked last time.

I don't know about that, with him dumping a grand into this game that clearly came from a day's worth of tips. That's not something you do unless either the bills for the month are already paid or you're stupidly not thinking about them because they're far enough out. Which Phil is dumb enough to do.

Although things may have changed thanks to losing those Twitch checks, since they were clearly for bills and tips were play money.
