I do wish ClownishTV would criticize the voice actors that have been still on record intentionally changing scripts to fit in American political topics in anime which have nothing to do with the original source material, but I guess since their Berserk video gaining traction, I don’t think they watch that much anime.

This thread reeks of liberals hoping the mythical Kiwi Farms will take up the cause and attack these people.

Sounding shrill is not not worthy of going after them. This is like the Stonetoss thread started, but less likable khantent from the supposed 'cow(s)' and actual dox.

Shit thread. Should get deleted. Their tangical drama can be put in the comicsgate thread.

There's not nearly enough content here for a lolcow thread. If making one dumb video (or, to be a honest, a few in Clownfish's case) is enough to be a lolcow 99% of the people on YouTube should have threads here.

So what’s the deal here? That this channel is stuck in 2014? The only thing I’ve noted is that 1. They always seem to point out that Rooster Teeth is on death’s doorstep because Warner Media is rumored to do some selling every few months, and when they believe in the “get woke , go broke” mantra...and I’m left waiting for the “go broke” part to happen.

It’s like they’re all in on “get woke go broke,” and you’re waiting for the “go broke” part. If anything, Clownfish is like the left in that they grossly overestimate how much people care about pop culture things, with Exhibit A being how they talk about Star Wars. Most people don’t care about the politics in their IPs, they just want to see something good.

Yeah. They're putting the horse before the cart, but I do wonder what the view count and like/dislike ratio on The Last Jedi trailer were before its release. I imagine a lot of Star Wars fans weren't expecting Rian Johnson to take a flamethrower to the franchise the way he did.

Apologies for the double post, but I felt that I had to address this. Most casual filmgoers will probably ignore the Internet spergery and go to Eternals because of the MCU's reputation so far. Let's look at The Force Awakens, which was $2B juggernaut in 2015. The Last Jedi came out two years later to a very divisive reception and a substantial ($700M) drop. Solo utterly tanked the next year and The Rise of Skywalker only scrapped by with a paltry $1B. Joker even outperformed it despite the entertainment media trying to gin up a shooting. The point is that franchises like the MCU heavily rely on moviegoers going to see their movies multiple times--one sad sack even went to see Captain Marvel over one hundred times. If general audiences receive Eternals like a wet fart, they won't be coming back for more showings. What's more, undecided customers will avoid the film as if it were the Black Death if word of mouth is bad and the film will wither on the vine.

"Get woke, go broke" is not an absolute maxim, but it has proven true in the past. Look at Ghostbusters 2016 and how it performed in theaters.

Well yeah; because when you say it about everything and then just ignore when it doesn't happen and only focus on when it does, it looks like a pretty solid "rule". Like the lady Oceans 11 reboot made back 4 times it's budget and, domestically at least, was the highest grossing since the original. That gets brought up with "Get woke go broke" constantly, and I'm struggling to see how it's even remotely applicable. Falcon and the Winter Solider "go woke" and allegedly failed, right up until it apparently didn't and now you don't really hear about how "woke" that show was anymore. Like even Black Panther was allegedly supposed to be the BLM straw that broke whiteys back., now the best you get is "Well... it was certainly overrated!".

"Woke" shit does well all the time, because "woke" only means "Shit I don't like" now. And this is how Clownfish and similar channels operates; say it about everything and then only harp on shit like a weak Men In Black installment and there ya go, you were right all along except for the times you weren't.

All it took to turn Star Wars around was a baby Yoda and Boba Fett knock off that's even if you consider ROS a failure. * it made nearly 4 times it's budget *

If Eternals bombs all it'll do is make Disney focus more on characters like Captain America/Marvel and other proven successes. And the MCU Disney Plus shows have all been massive successes too.

It's more of a gross oversimplification when I give it more thought. I used Ghostbusters 2016 as an example and it didn't tank simply because it was "woke." Its abysmal performance had more to do with the fact that it had a godawful script that made it painfully clear that this was a cash grab, and then it did not help that Paul Feig and the cast openly antagonized the audience. The morons thought that insulting prospective customers was a brilliant marketing move, as well threatening legal action against Bill Murray to force his participation. Leslie Jones AKA the living embodiment every negative black stereotype getting salty over Afterlife's announcement was just the cherry on top for me.

Can't really say much about Ocean's 8 as it flew completely under my radar though why do I get the distinct impression that the director and cast didn't make the same fatal error Fag, I mean, Feig did. That and it was also probably competently written.

The law of diminishing returns is a constant in Hollywood, but it would be foolish to believe that Lucasfilm/Disney was expecting a 50% drop in gross from The Force Awakens to The Rise of Skywalker. Similarly, TROS was plagued with production troubles and endless reshoots that I imagine the Mouse neglected to report. Remember that there is a thing called "Hollywood accounting" and studios have used it to screw actors/screenwriters/etc. out of royalties.

Baby Yoda may be a huge win to with viewers and merchandise, it is still a long road to recovery for the Star Wars. Though things can only improve if Disney CEO Bob Chapek shows Kathleen Kennedy the door. It's important to note that Kathleen Kennedy and her story group are responsible for the clusterfuck that was the sequel trilogy while Jon Favereau and Dave Filoni are the brain trust behind The Mandalorian.

Realistically, the Eternals bombing would be a blip. Much of it would also have to do with director Chloe Zhao being on the CCP's shit list, and thus resulting in them them banning the film. MCU films depend heavily on the Chinese market to be profitable. Shang-Chi is facing similar struggles because the CCP and indeed the Chinese people do not take kindly to the yellow peril origins of the Mandarin. I have... concerns about Wakanda Forever, but that has more to do with the lead actor coming up with a bad case of being dead.

They should maybe care about politics not being involved or they're going to find themselves having some savings for the first time in their lives, unless they're that into consoomerism they're going to buy it anyway that is.
True...but my point was that any decision to watch or not watch may not be the cultural war “which side are you on?” Clownfish TV thinks it is. Some people may have just snubbed SW sequels not because of anything of Kathleen Kennedy, but because they didn’t like how things started to come across as someone’s fanfiction.

And don’t forget the part where Clownfish and their insiders will tell you how SW news is just another battle in the Civil War Disney and Lucasfilm may or may not be embroiled in.

Honestly I can hardly blame them for being such when "pick a side" is omnipresent and fence sitters get shamed by both sides. Sure, when we're talking about a consumer, it might be as you say it is but I don't really see them having a choice other than picking a side being kinda public figures, for those it's either you pick a side or you get called the worst things by both sides of "Culture Wars: Episode 2021"
