I got curious about Azealia's music from this thread. 212 sounds like most other new hip hop songs. No melody, no hook, the whole thing is one verse, and the beat is passable but not too catchy. She's delightfully insane and based but she's no Missy Elliott. She's not even Snow Tha Product if we're talking new shit. Either the people praising her music are zoomers who don't remember when hip hop had things like hook and melody, or her music has greatly improved since 212.

Azealia blows Nicki Minaj and Cardi B out of the water but that's not hard. She really is the female Kanye. Mentally ill middling rapper who's fun to watch. Also, I never thought I'd see Pixyteri dethroned but it seems BP has found a new queen.

Now for one of my favorite Azealia joints: her highly experimental and eccentric Yung Rapunxel Pt. II mixtape. This album is not mixed nor is it mastered or available on any streaming service. It is thirty minutes of organized chaotic genius. Upon a cursory listen, it sounds like a garbled mess; however, its unhinged melodies will live in your head rent free forever. I guarantee you, whether you enjoy the mixtape or not, you will never hear anything like it. To this day, AB is the only rapper I have ever encountered that regularly opts to rap over harshly schizophrenic industrial/electronic beats.

It appears that her song Treasure Island wasn’t received very well by Twitter due to her working with Dr Luke on it and people didn’t give Doja Cat shit when her songs were produced by him.
