Did Chris stop playing Pokémon vidya and TCG because they got too hard for him or something? It has been years since Chris mentioned anything pokemon related.
Does he know that he'd get his ass handed to him by literal children or is he incapable of understanding game mechanics or how complex things got?

Did the card game change much since 2018? Chris was still playing it then but he got himself banned from the game shop. He probably still plays Pokemon Go.

No-one plays my little pony CCG and it's much cheaper, it's relevant as Digimon card game.
Edit MLP cards are much cheaper than pokemon cards. whole box of MLP cards are 40 USD per booster box while average pokemon booster pack costs 80+ dollars for newer sets, because older editions are long out of print, they're much much more expensive due to inflated collectors market
Anyone who plays competitive only focus on sets that are allowed in tournaments, which is why new booster boxes are expensive as shit.
Both are outside Chris' tugboat money and paypig shekels

The format changed, so all of the older cards up to a certain point were no longer legally compatible with the newer releases, which rendered almost 80% of his collection useless in contemporary matches.

I was thinking about the book which I'm assuming is through a ween watching the documentary but the documentary will have to end one day and then what.
Is the documentary going to go on until he dies? Modern Chris is boring and I don't see Geno continuing it if he only get 1k views cause it's nothing but rambling tweets. I could see Geno shift to that, unfortunately. Looks like it will still go go on until Chris decides to leave the internet (for about the 4th time; I doubt it), or he does die. It'll be interesting if it gets to the timeline where Barb dies.
I don't know what else Chris can do to act differently to get that buzz. As you said, Current Chris is boring and he doesn't get agitated by the trolls anymore.

I could see Chris trying to become directly involved with the video series through doing interviews or whatever. He's well aware of it and has contacted Geno.
While I personally think it would be a bad idea, Chris becoming directly involved with his own documentary would mutually benefit Chris and Geno. Chris gets attention while letting someone else do the work, and Geno gets exclusive content to substitute for the lack of new and interesting Christory.
Where it could get funny is if Geno maintains a firm separation, and Chris responds with anger or desperate attempts to control the narrative of the series. Like when Truman realizes that he's in a TV show and starts flipping the fuck out.

Do you think Chris became more or less of a lolcow since the Idea Guys? The "changes" they enforced onto Chris definitely brought up his cow rating (I.e the bisexuality, polyamorous marriage, dimensional merge, etc).

Agreed. Although Chris has lessened the chances of finding his troon honest sweetheart from the ground up, it wouldn't have been IMPOSSIBLE for him to find somebody REAL if he hadn't listened to the Idea Guys. There might've been some quirky sjw aspie gal who would totally take those queer points for dating a "transwoman". Nowadays I doubt there would be anybody willing to join Chris' imaginary polycule (and, I mean, this website has various examples of those who are into those kinds of relationships, all of them are already cows in their own way *coughcough*Kevin*cough*Amanda).
