I have a question for the medfags on here. This might sound really dumb, but why do people who lost their legs need physio? So they can get ready to walk with prosthetics? Or to keep the blood flowing though the stumps or something?
They've had to cut through all her leg muscles. It's to help them heal and to keep movement in them. Soon they'll start trying to build her strength up so she can mobilise properly.

Some lurker has used r/IF, Munchsnark, LCF and this thread to make a YouTube video about Kelly.

Found it here:

Apparently we're a good source for info, but we're also trash humans re YT comments.

Even then, they still got shit wrong. I'm sure Kelly won't mind though.

Am mobilefag if anyone feels the need to archive.

I don't understand that shit. If a website is full of terrible people, why use it as a source? That's the whole point of the farms anyways, to laugh at people. She can't bash us when she's likely doing the same thing AND using Kelly for precious internet points and views on youtube.

Also, one of the comments on youtube was confused as to why her legs needed to be chopped off. Kelly was basically a walking zombie, what more can be said :story:

It's usually for multiple things; One primary reason is to build up strength and essentially teach someone how to do things now that they have no legs. Things like rolling over, moving to get into a wheelchair, moving in said wheelchair, etc. It can seem like these things would come naturally, but they don't. The mind and body takes a lot of time to adjust and learn new muscle memory.

There's also a lot of stretching and exercises that have to be done in order to essentially keep joints and muscles healthy and working properly, they tend to be extremely painful and stiff without said exercises. This is true of most amputations.

It also helps with pain and swelling post-op, issues can become permanent if they're not treated with physical therapy.

ETA: The hair loss can be due to a lot of things. Hair pulling wouldn't shock me, though honestly neither would stress or infection. One thing I noticed hadn't been brought up yet is a type of hair thinning or loss that occurs with anemia. Since she had that history of blood draining, it could have possibly caused a loss of ferritin. Ferritin levels aren't always checked in blood draws for anemia (depends on who is ordering it, where, and what they're suspicious of). Low ferritin will lead to general thinning or sometimes bald patches. Hard to say without seeing current blood results.

Two things that stood out to me:
  • Kelly wants her legs back.
  • Kelly needs to "qualify" for getting prosthesies (sic).
Yes, in Canada, they only cover prosthetics suitable to your lifestyle. A middle aged mother doesn't get elite athelete prosthetics, for example. Thus, if the health region decides she wont use em, she wont get em.

She is a rough upper 30's. Why do munchies not care about basic skincare? At least look good when you are seeking asspats in the hospital.
No, it makes you looks so much sicker & weaker & frail!! Also, is it just me, or does Kelly seem to have a bald patch on the left (to us) side of her head? I know she was a 'ballerina' but in all the years we've been watching her, she's never had her hair in the tight, severe buns professional dancers do to induce tension alopecia. I'm more inclined to think it's from picking or lack of vitamin D or something.

I finally actually watched the video. Kelly doesn't seem to get that having a breakdown is (probably) part of rehabilitation. I think it would be taken as a good sign, that having a breakdown after having your fucking legs amputated is normal. It's part of acceptance and mourning the loss of your old life, you know? Moving on to a new life without both your legs is scary as hell, I would think having a breakdown or two would be normal. Doctors and therapists are probably seeing for how you handle those breakdowns and if you rally and do your best to be compliant after you have them.

However, it being Kelly, I think it's more of her perhaps having a rare moment of "Fuck fuck fuck fuck, I did not think this through". She had two perfectly healthy legs and she butchered them to the point where they had to be amputated above the knee. I can't imagine the amount of pain packing two of my legs stumps would be, but she obviously did not do her research because she was so focused on getting attention and having a mystery diagnosis. Did she think they'd lop the legs off, change her bandages a few times and hand her a shiny new pair of prosthetics?

In short, no. No she did not. All of this is her own doing and she has no one to blame but herself.

Right above her right ear (to us) she also has this huge bald spot, holy shit. Honestly can be any reason. Meds, lack of vitamin D, infections, too tight knots like you already mentioned, and something that would be totally Kelly-like: pulling out her own hair.....
Hilarious how she's so sad about having her legs amputated and wants them back and after a couple of minutes she totally forgot about why she was sobbing and crying about. Just another cry for attention I guess.

Strange video. Yes, it’s perfectly normal to cry, get frustrated and wish this hadn’t happened to you. (Even if you caused it.)

It’s absolutely bizarre to have a nurse walk in, give you meds or whatever, and then completely forget what you were saying. Saying the pain has lessened due to meds and the nurse gave a better perspective, so she feels stronger, that’s believable.

Completely forgetting why you were even upset? No drugs in the world can make you forget you are in a wheelchair for life. That video shows how mentally off Kelly really is.

And yeah, she’s losing hair. If it was anybody else I’d say alopecia or hormones, maybe even stress combined with rubbing hair on a pillow a lot. But it’s Kelly, so she is probably pulling it out of her head.

Yes to both. Also, the structural features of the human skeleton evolved for walking upright, meaning that it's actually super important for us to bear weight by standing and walking. Prolonged periods of lying down or sitting can cause all kinds of complications, including osteoporosis, muscle atrophy and joint contractures, pulmonary embolism, and heart failure. Limited mobility leading to dependence on others for all or most activities of daily living is associated with poorer mental health and subjective feelings of well-being, and not being able to get up and interact with other people can lead to social withdrawal and isolation.

Finally, for any amputee, the missing limb or limbs mean that the rest of the body has to work harder and experiences more physical wear and tear. Any injury or arthritis could be devastating if it affected the body's ability to compensate for the missing part. For example, if a person with two functional legs ended up with arthritis in a shoulder, the discomfort might cause him or her to give up playing golf or need a better mattress. Annoying and painful, but not something that would really impact quality of life. For a person with bilateral AKAs, that same arthritic shoulder could mean the loss of the ability to self-propel a wheelchair or perform self care activities, meaning they may no longer be able to live independently. The kicker here is that the extra biomechanical stresses on the rest of the body after an amputation mean that injuries and degenerative changes are more likely to happen. Rigorous physical therapy can help make the remaining muscles stronger and more flexible, reducing the likelihood of injury, and rehabilitation specialists can also provide patients with ways to alter or modify their surroundings to make daily activities easier.

Bilateral AKAs need a lot of physical training in order to figure out how to move in their new body. It's not like you just strap on some prosthetics and start walking around normally. Losing your legs totally changes your center of gravity and the way you move about in space. Sitting on the sofa, settling into bed, getting onto the toilet, leaning over to grab a book from the lowest shelf of a bookcase - your body has to learn from scratch how it feels to do everything. Imagine how weird and unbalanced it would feel to suddenly wake up with half your body missing. Your proprioception would be fucked, and your brain would need time just to figure out wtf was going on.

That entire video was so extra and performative. No real tears and just awkward cringy movement. It's just as I imagine someone smooth brained like her to act like when trying to convince anyone that will listen just how tragic and distraught her existence is in hopes of attention from them. That poor girl! It's so sad to see the pain she's going through.. As if she isn't the best example of the type of person anyone should never feel sorry for considering all of this was self induced and not an act of God or another person. If I decided to rip my damn arms off I'm not going to post a damn video of myself throwing a pity party with the expectation that someone should feel bad for me, that's what a crazy person does.

she forgot her sadness when the nurse came in because of the rush she gets whenever a medical professional pays attention to her. She does want prosthetics, because she will need more physio and more doctor visits to get them.

What kind of prosthetics can you even use with above the knee amputations? Wouldn't you just waddle in them since you cant bend the joint?

There are some truly awful people on KF, like the faggots who make fun of the mentally ill online and try to turn a profit/become popular on mainstream media. They're the worst.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, Kelly is terrible for what she does. Just don't laugh at the monkeys in the zoo, film yourself doing it, and then get mad other people used language or had ideas you didn't like. You're not a bit better than people who laugh at cripples or blacks or troons. You're worse.
