Time for another Comicsgate News Update
FROM CREATORGO
After the explosion of campaigns we witnessed during the first third of CG2021 the pace of newly launched comic campaigns has slowed to a standstill. The number of listed campaigns still sits at 90, not including the removed failures listed below. Vestri 3, HAVOC and Hybrids: The Killing Fields 1 & 2 escaped the CG graveyard after being funded
from our previous reported list. We also have several freshly launched campaigns to add to our watchlist with no new failures.

The glut of comic books which flooded Indiegogo during the first four months of the year have finally slowed to something more manageable. The right project, with the right amount of promotion could fair better than the bottom 62 CG projects which failed to break out over 10K in funding which all launched side by side with one another.
The current award system has been updated as following:
LEGENDARY ($200K CAMPAIGN) - 0/106 (0%)
AMAZING ($100K CAMPAIGN) - 2/106 (1.88%)
HOMERUN (1K BACKERS) - 5/106 (4.72%)
GREAT ($25K CAMPAIGN) - 7/106 (6.60%)
GOOD (200% FUNDED) - 43/106 (40.57%)
A-OK (100% FUNDED) - 28/106 (26.42%)
FUNDING (NOT YET FUNDED) - 6/106 (5.66%)
FAILED (FAILED TO FUND) - 15/106 (14.15%)

Mitch
"Pencil-Neck" Breitweiser has launched his first campaign since the
Allegiance Arts Triple Pack of 2019, titled
The Saints. The strategically launched campaign coincides with the two year overdue fulfillment of
Red Rooster, one of the trail blazing Comicsgate campaigns of 2018. The Saints follows Jean Marc LaPointe, a world renowned archeologist, who finds himself in the crosshairs of a dark and dangerous conspiracy. The campaign offers the standard 52 page book for $25 and so far has raised $7,794 from 134 backers. Why anyone would risk a possible two year wait time to receive the book, and miss purchasing it for a reduced 50 cents at a Walmart discount bin, is beyond me.
The only other CG book that launched worth reporting on is the new book from Graveyard Shift series writer Mark Poulton called
Viking Wolf Book 1. This time Poulton teams up with
Pandemic and
Impossible Stars artist Renzo Rodriguez, Matt Dalton and with cover art from Jose Garcia - who recently joined the ALL CAPS family illustrating a Cyberfrog manga side story. The book appears to be a blend of horror and fantasy as Prince Gunnar Runewulf travels to Earth to rescue his kidnapped father from the evil Tollman. The book is described as a 40 page graphic novel for the standard $25 price and has raised $10,186 from 131 backers as of writing.
FROM THE TWITTERVERSE
Our very own FROG took some time to both dunk on Neil Gaiman and Heavy Metal magazine after the reporting by Mister Dongs in his post
above.
While Jon Malin recently promoted and announced the title for his secret project, formerly known as PROJECT THUNDAAR as Godlike. The announcement from Malin also featured a teaser promotional trailer which will be featured in our Youtube Section below.
Malin also put out a recent tweet pondering the idea of a new weekly Comicsgate livestream show which would air 7pm EST and feature 4-5 regular cohosts each Tuesday.
There was no shortage of offers and suggestions from Malin's followers in the comment section, which undoubtedly will probably just turn into another version of the JACK show with the exact same cast of characters.
FROM YOUTUBE
As previously reported on in our
"Twitterverse" news segment, Jon Malin released a short teaser trailer promoting his upcoming comic campaign which was previously known as PROJECT THUNDAAR now named Godlike.
VikkiVerse and DA Talks weekly CGDG stream continued titled
"Small Streamer Crisis" which covered yet another goodbye Comicsgate video from Liam Gray, a feud between Comicsgate music maker
Lord Finatra and Etsy Boy Jazz Crab and the recent decision of
Piper to cancel her
"F It Show" youtube series.
Well Read Reviews reviewed
Billy Tucci's
Shi: Return Of The Warrior and recent sequel book
Shi: Haikyo, both of which were six figure campaigns. Joining the review team this week as guest reviewer was comic creator and sometime Oz Show guest
Twitless.
Yellowflash reports on the Heavy Metal drama that recently occurred and was previously mentioned by Mister Dongs. Flash then went into a recent
Bounding Into Comics article which showcased tweets from
Mark Millar stating that only 10% of comic buyers have a twitter account and half of those accounts are inactive.
That Umbrella Guy took some time off from sperging about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard to return to his roots of reporting on the downfall of Marvel and DC to the increasing popularity of manga. TUG also goes into recent comments by Kevin Feige on Marvel characters and the alleged white-washing of Doctor Strange.
Jon Del Arroz recently hosted the Dark Lord himself,
Vox Day/Teddy Spaghetti, the topic of the stream was the freshly launched Arktoons online subscription service for comics.
Finally our very own Ethan VanSciver/
@FROG once again joined Dan Shahin for a
cordial interview stream for a discussion on the comic book industry, Comicsgate and FROG's career at DC and Marvel. The stream was highly entertaining with key moments like the bane of Micah Curtis
Alien Xenomorph super-chatting NIGGER to Dan in individual letters and Dan Shahin giving a special shoutout to Sketch Therapy as Comicsgate's leading mascot.
SPECIAL NEWS UPDATE: PRESTON POULTER VS THE WORLD
Obviously our top story this week was the filing of defamation, libel, slander and assault charges against several Comicsgate associated personality including
@VIkkiVerse,
@FROG and DA Talks by Preston Poulter (
@PocketJacks) and
Jon T Lamont. This news was first broke by a most unusual source, the people's champion, the freshly renamed Patriot Hut.
The Hutt did
a follow up video, confirming the lawsuit from
a recent Nasser Rabadi stream from
@NasserRabadi13 on the topic, however the biggest commentator to report on the lawsuit so far was Nick Rekieta.
Nick Rekieta would then go over the recent filing by Preston Poulter against the trio of defendants picking apart the grammar and information presented in both a humorous and informative fashion. The beginning of this dissection of Poulter's claims begins at the [
57:21] mark of the now unlisted stream. According to Rekieta the filing has been rejected by the court and Poulter and Lamont have several days to amend the filing if they wish to proceed. In response to this lolsuit
@5t3n0g0ph3r has created the thread
Poulter et al v. Assaf et al (2021) which I encourage all kiwis to participate in to keep the farms updated on the proceedings, or lack thereof.
That's it for this news update. As always take care and stay safe out there.
