The original Kizuna AI RE7 LP is what took off, then the company behind her phased her out and tried to gaslight people by saying the two other Kizina AI's were the original for some reason, then eventually the original VA bought out the company and they pretended that she was there the entire time despite an almost 2 year absence from late 2018 to 2020.

As far as westerners go, Kizuna AI fell off hard and it wasn't until early 2020 people were getting back into it because of random Miku or Karone clips, it chugged along steadily until Gura's debut which is inarguably the second coming of VTubers since Kizuna's original RE7 clips.

Her numbers were pretty low, but it looks like they were going up around last March. She might have become popular on twitch over the summer if she kept streaming there. There might even be an alternate timeline where she didn't apply to holo and ended up in Vshojo. Fans got pissed, because they loved the personality behind the avatar, and not the avatar itself. The corp that employed her and owned the avatar were silent about this and pretended that Kizuna was a concept, and not a personality. fans were not having this shit. The real Kizuna was still appearing, though less frequently.

This didn't work and the company back peddled, and ultimately went under.

Now Kizuna works for (or owns) another company where she owns the rights to her model.

Kizuna has concerts, appears in games, has commercials, etc. When she loses the sub count she will still be more relevant than Gura in a pop culture sense. She is far from irrelevant, despite number fagging.

I don't really fault the chicken because I know what it's like having the entertainment mindset.
She basically came from idol culture and even if that's seen as a worn-out excuse, you never really walk away from that ( just look at Miley Cyrus or Lindsay Lohan after Disney trying to push them as hard as they did).
She's the truest Idol of the English branch to the point that she tries to create a Persona whereas her peers are literally just playing extensions of themselves.
TLDR- I get being upset that you came in last place because it does make you feel like you're the weakest link regardless if you're at a big number.
But I also do think that she needs to be more comfortable with herself IMO.
Maybe take a cue from her cohorts and lend a bit more on her real voice that be a good step in the right direction

I could shit on the Kiara hate but these criticisms are still echoed in the comments of the video that started this thing. It's just a lot more... vicious here I suppose, which is pair-for-the-course on this site anyway. While I like Kiara and did watch a few hrs of the celebration stream for fun I can't help but find this comparison mindset self-destructive. At beginning she's saying she didn't think she'd ever hit 1 million and how grateful she is and how no one knew if the EN branch would do well. But later in she has this weird stuff like that clip. One of the comments on the videos makes a good point "I mean, it’s not like it would have been possible for none of the EN girls to be the last to reach 1 mil."
I actually kind of feel bad for her, and think people could definitely be less harsh.

I don't care what she did in her previous life, the interviews with A-Chan and Roboco were outstanding and I hope she keeps doing the talk show with lesser exposed Holo talent. I know Iofi is the big brained 5-language alien artist but I don't know much about her outside that. I know Flare is a minecraft savant and general womanizer but I don't know much about her outside of that either.

I don't like Kiara's solo streams but she can pull stories out of anyone. Love or hate her, she's up there with Marine, Fubuki, and Subaru that can pull content out of thin air.

Also it is a 1 min clip in a 12 hr stream. The uploader themselves wrote a comment saying "I don’t think Kiara is even a slight bit ungrateful". Really this is Kiara being open about insecurities, and often insecurities are irrational. I can only hope she can push past them and become a better content creator.

Yeah she basically poured out her heart early on and this was bought up after someone asked what it felt like to finally hit it which was like 2 or 3 hours in.
