Anyone else think Pride month is going to be more combative, or at least more in-your-face than ever before? With the discourse this month about sex as Pride etc., plus Pride basically being missed last year as it took a backseat to BLM, it just feels more tense to me this time around.
I think it can go either way. Fact of the matter is, things aren't progressing very fast. It's been 6 years since that Jenner dude was on the cover of that magazine. 6 years since nationwide gay marriage. But since then? Things progressed faster from 2009 to 2015, than from 2015 to now. We're still discussing if trannies should be in womens sport, or in womens bathrooms, or if we should castrate children. And all in all, the public doesn't seem very in favour of it.
Combine that with certain individuals and corporations getting far more daring than they used to be years ago, from the whole "show children kink" or showing tranny kids in childrens cartoons, etc etc etc. These things would've been unthinkable years ago.
Things are more tense, because more people know about these things now, and acceptence of it all is going down.
Either they will go full steam ahead, and the next month/couple of years, will be so degenerate and absurd, we'll look at 2021 like it was 1950.
Or there's another option, they'll slow things down to bring acceptence back up before pushing the line of ethics and morals again.
I can't imagine any LGBT organizations or activist looking at the last couple of years and thinking "yeah, everyone is still on our side despite how much we're pushing!"
So everyone is tense this month. How extreme will things get? Chances are, they know that and will make this month as milquetoast family friendly as possible. In order to discredit the right-winged naysayers who oppose them. It would certainly work imo. Imagine if some LGBT group openly speaks against showing kids sexual shit, or openly speaks against some of the more extreme talking points people push like castrating kids. Their acceptence would almost instantly come back up, I think.
Or they'll go full-steam ahead, but given that LGBT acceptence is going down, it'd would be suicide if they did. Then again, we're talking about trannies here lmao.
