General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
That's a lot of autism I'm not going to break down. Callie has admitted that she was doing vtubing as a side gig and in almost all her songs she has some kind of shout-out to Demon Dice. Even after she's made it now she doesn't really seem to give a shit if people know that Mori and Demon Dice are the same person, just like Coco/K-son and any number of other vtubers that still make content with no attempt to hide their identities.

That sounds like a lot of information gotten from 3rd party sources, because there are kernels of facts to all but the 3rd point which I don't really understand where that guy is getting it from.
They lurk /vt/ i personally dont care, i just want her to play Diablo 2 and hatch that egg she promised on her 3d debut

Mori and Kiara, and to a lesser extent Ina were expected to be the front runners of the generation by cover, this is usually supported by their artists being significantly more well-known than Nabi or Nacho.
I thought the same, hell Kiara has fucking Huke in speed dial, what else does she want, i was afraid that Ina would not be rising to fast because the damn joke of "she is just a reskinned abigail williams" was getting annoying already, i think Kuroboshi know this and played with it when he featured her forehead in one of the modes of the new skin

She literally just talked in the 12 hour stream about how none of them have a frame of reference for what is good, bad or mediocre for HololiveEN streamers.
Well she is the reference now, same as when she debuted and was compared with the JP branch now the new EN gens are going to be compared with her and her mates

They went in expecting 100k as a long term goal.
Even indonesia got 100k in days, they are not Holostar

At least they're only reading pedophile manga and not actually molesting people
Well Matsuri has frenched the Robot and stopped because her fans told her it was like to much so thats the most close to molesting you are going to get

The expectation i have from GEN2 is to include another type like Calli because i agree with a thing that Rikka said on their collab that Hololive has good singers and stuff but barely have people that actually produce music on their own, and i hope someone that specialize in EDM

Matsuri is what EN bros think that Marine is. The only thing that stops Matsuri from being a creeper is that she's young and nobody actually entertains her being weird, they just shut her down immediately.

EDM? Dude, she'd blow her superchats into oxiberries and GHB and probably OD before the million subs. Thought that'd be quite the holo, I admit. I cannot wait for the "misstimed the edibles" stream highlights.

I think overtaking even Gura in numbers (read: entertainment value) is still possible for gen 2 or later newcomers.
5 people are far from closing all the holes in this entertainment niche.
Just takes a certain type of person.
Hololive somewhat lacks in fan interactions in comparison to many regular streamers, so maybe someone who breaks this stalemate might blow up.
Spacha readings, giving fans homework to review on stream and extremely rare member inclusive gameplay is fun and all but this could be broadened way more.
Nothing groundbreaking in NijiEN either from what little I saw.

I think the limitation lies in Youtube as a platform, it just doesn't have the same level of engagement as Twitch.

Gura was at the right place at the right time, I think the only way EN2 is going to explode in the way Gura did is if there's a semi-famous internet personality that gets through, but if their debuts are in July they'll all have over 500k by December easily off the Hololive name alone.

They're never going to be able to re-create the "a" meme again but Ollie was the next best thing in the ID debut by being a simp that talks so fast that she's speaking three languages at once. Reine is a calm ASMR type like Ina without any of the bad jokes that makes Ina endearing and Anya just exists. I can't say anything positive or negative about Anya, she's just there.

They're both awful platforms. I know Miko does watch-alongs on twitch but the biggest V-Tuber on the platform CodeMiko has gotten banned like four times over basically nothing which I can see happening more often than the YouTube algorithm fucking over V-Tubers.

Anya's got a sharp tongue when she chooses to use it. Sasuga the indonesian dagger/sword/squiggly line thing

^This thread any time they think they have a reason to hate on Kiara, I swear.

Meanwhile, the clip is such shit the clipper has privated it. Because it removes a ton of context both before and after.

She literally just talked in the 12 hour stream about how none of them have a frame of reference for what is good, bad or mediocre for HololiveEN streamers.
They went in expecting 100k as a long term goal. Now they all have 1million less than a year into this thing. She wondered if 1 million is now just going to be the baseline expected of English holos going forward with Vsinger and EN2. Personally i think that's a retarded line of thinking and she clearly has complexes surrounding it but it's getting somewhat missrepresented here.
NAND has got the gist of it. But let's actually look at the fucking VOD instead of commenting on some contextless clip like a bunch of CNN-watching Sheep. Timestamped to when the discussion ACTUALLY starts

The lead up to the clip has:
- 100k was initial goal. Once they got it at the debut, they expected to peak around 3-400k.
- Admits immediately that the thoughts she has surrounding this is caused exclusively by her lack of confidence
- As NAND says, she has no frame of reference for EXCLUSIVELY Holo-EN branch. And admits all of this discussion is couched exclusively surrounding the EN girls
- Jokes the audience are all "DDD" and are ready to jump onto the next cute VTuber at a moments notice (something I've seen Akirose, Fubuki, and Lamy have talked about just off the top of my head)

Clip starts at this point

After the clip:
- Goes on to talk about being last place was probably her own fault due to her niche game choices stunting her growth
- Says she wouldn't change that though because she would much rather be happy and play her JRPGs and other weird games, rather than just play games exclusively for the sake of attracting people
- Admits if she had made those numbers on her own, it would have been amazing. But then she makes the correct point when you're part of a team, your point of comparison is that team.
- Admits she used be worse on herself in the beginning, and it's something she's still working on, wants to be able to ignore this shit in the future.
- Talks about all the shit Youtube did to her (the week+ long shadowban is the big example she uses). Frustrated because she feels bad the people who worked on the video (illustrators, song creators) didn't get the appreciation they deserve for the effort that was put into it

But, c'mon guys, she hit 1 million subs right? Who cares about years of mental hangups from being literally stalked out of her industry, failing for years at her goals and career, and nearly resigning her self to a life of office work. She's made it on Youtube! It's not like they have a habit of completely deleting channels for no reason, or changing their bullshit rules overnight and removing all monetization from a channel for no reason, right? She should have just bucked up in the last 8 months and be happy with everything she has now!

Meanwhile, this one just premiered a while ago:

so @savisavichan, artist for Mori's new cover, made this for the HoloEN band

Edit: Roboco achieved her 650k sub goal within 10 hours and 29 minutes. Also, it feels good to get a ♥ from her post-stream.

Mootxicans would like a word with you, she has been adopted by the spic gang

What niche? she mostly play the meme games of the month unless they are to saturated, the only weird thing i remember her playing was Diablo 2 and Atelier

Offtopic but apparently Twitter let you verify Vtubers now? as long as they are corpo

Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Ryza 1, Ryza 2, currently playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Also played SIMs. And she definitely leans on Minecraft more heavily than the other girls as well (at least since Watson burned herself out obsessing over it in the beginning). Oh yea, can't forget she wants to stream World of Warcraft.

I wish she would have stayed stubborn about 3 Houses but that was in her debut month. Her Sims streams were funny because she'd just pop into a totally unrelated collab and say "By the way I got you pregnant"
