Don't know if anyone cares but Dream is streaming on Twitch right now talkin about the cheating accusation and stuff. This sounds like bait but it is real.

Is there a way I can watch this without givin views/money?
Wait for the VOD, I suppose. I'll try and archive it later.

I'm not sure that's true, if you look back at what was going on at the time, it's eerily similar to the Dream fandom's activites. You had all the people shipping PewDiePie, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, making similar looking artwork of them to what you see today for the Dream people, and writing all the fanfictions, and usually the people involved with this stuff are girls.

Maybe you could say there were multiple offshoots of the fandom, with one consisting of cringy kids in YouTube comments who mostly happen to be boys, but the former was certainly significant. Though, compared to the Dream fandom it at least appeared more tame, probably because there were just less people in general watching YouTube at the time, and the climate was a bit different, so you wouldn't have as much open crazy weirdos, woke activism virtue signaling, etc.
The thing is, (as embarrassed as I am to admit it) I did use to ship some of these people for a while. But then, guess what, these youtubers, these intelligent human beings, saw what effect this had on their real life relationships and friendships, and took a hardline stance against explicit shippings and pairings. They explained it makes them uncomfortable and that they disapprove of it. And, as stupid as I was back then, it pierced my thick little skull that the people I adored at the time didn't approve of my actions, at least indirectly. So what did I, dumb little shit that I was, do?
I stopped.

The difference in the fandoms was made by the creators' handling of them. These people had the foresight to actually realize "oh wait this is kinda fucked up and i should stop it ASAP" and then they did. And guess what, despite their size the fandoms were mostly tame and, at first glance, welcoming and soft. They essentially made explicit shipping more underground and hard to notice by simply disapproving publicly and simply moving on. The fandoms settled it within themselves.
Sure, Septiplier, Pewdiecry, whatever that ship between CrankGameplays and Tyler Scheid is called, those were still prominent and widely loved ships (especially on tumblr because anything goes on that hellsite), but they were essentially hidden from the main body of the fandom (sans some special exceptions) or at least pushed under the rug as NOT THE FOCAL POINT OF THE FANDOM.

. Stop licking the ass of mentally ill kids and do shit you actually enjoy, that money of yours is temporary
I honestly think he doesn't have anything else he enjoys. The dude has been playing Minecraft religiously for 10 years now. He never went to college or had any real ambitions to live a normal life or have a normal job. He has nothing else. This IS what he enjoys. What Clayton does not realize (or maybe he does and it probably terrifies him) is that youtube will not last forever. The stans will grow up or move onto something else and eventually Minecraft wont be popular anymore. Then what? Sure maybe he will be a millionaire, but that does not lead to having a fulfilling life. The benefit of having a 9-5 job and a traditional career is that it keeps you busy throughout your life and constantly provides structure and development. Being a youtuber is very much a short term career. If you are lucky you can continue making videos 10 years from now. Most do not make it past 2 or 3 years. So I hope Clayton is investing wisely and thinking about how he is going to keep himself busy after all of this. He's only 21, he has a long way to go.

But I really don't think Clayton has anything else other than Minecraft, and if I had to guess, I would say that is probably a big reason as to why he is so insecure.

Could only watch a bit but he claims the mod from the developer he was using would change his loading screen, minecraft front page etc. He said he wasn't going to name the developer but I think it is his friend Callahan (IIRC he is a developer or coder or something). He tweeted about this when his loading screen was shown the last time he streamed. Callahan helps with the servers they make for videos too I believe, not that it matters much. Just thought it was interesting.

Apparently chat is making fun of Dream being flustered and stuttering because he's clearly bullshitting, and his stans on twitter can't take it and are trying to drown the chat in heart emojis.

There are so many idiots rushing to go "I-I have a stutter too! This doesn't mean Dream is lying! He might have ADHD! He might be stressed!"

They also think it's because Dream is gay for another member of his crew or something?

Because these freaks are weird enough to ship and draw porn of actual real living human beings they don't know.

All this stupid motherfucker had to do was shut up and keep his money, what was the point of this?

It's (an attempt at) full-throttle damage control

Verbatim quote: "It depends on your definition of cheating."

Idk who all is taking notes but there are several lies so far and, they are blatant.
