I posted a piece from this artist some time ago. I just thought this a one-off, but there's more. Also, holly fuck, but why does Goofy look more like a dog (or rather like a rodent) than Max in the bottom one? Max I can somewhat see as a humanization but Goofy? What the hell.

Never made sense to me either, and I used to be in this community but left after someone called me a heteronormative cishet because I didn't agree with one ship of the many that are in that community.
And the bad thing is, this person (CakeBrunch) works for the crew (makes comics for the series), and boy, are they are known for shipping anything and everything, including giving most of these objects random sexualities and getting angry when someone ships a straight ship which doesn't make sense since they ship everything for no reason.
Most people in this community are autistic or neurodivergent (but most of them are children or teens at best), some relate to these characters and reflect themselves on them.
Another thing why people put these headcanons onto them is because of how the characters act or are portrayed. In a video for scrapped ideas, two of the characters were supposed to be changed into females but that was scrapped and another character switched genders to even out the competitors. There's also that Taco and Microphone from II, people love to say that they're lesbians and they're so in love, but in reality, they're only working together for the prize (spoiler, the microphone abandoned her after the taco used for her own gain).
