Yknow its a gacha game someday the server shuts off.

Most gacha players accept theor waifus are fleeting when spending money, but what does it look like when you've spent six figures....

He still probably lies about it, like the guy going to the casino ATM for the fifth time that night, who could stop any time he feels like it.
I don't see how even he could manage that, given 1) how religiously he reads this place, and 2) the fact that he has been spending his tips on gacha for over a year, minimum. It was $200 a day for a reason, which I doubt was arbitrary given that gacha is something Phil actually gives a shit about. He has a pretty clear idea of what can be accomplished in the game with $200 or less. His mood wouldn't be so fucking mopey at $50 in tips otherwise.

Not to mention his video warning people about gacha. Phil knows damn well that he's a fucking addict, he knew it before Champions even existed. He's able to tolerate it because of how important it is for him to feel like a winner, like he's better than others, especially after so many years of being the internet's butt-monkey. I'm sure he has a tiny bit of regret, because he has engaged in coping and projection, but it's not enough to make him be completely in denial.

i dont understand why he doesnt just stream this, surely it would attract a parade of like minded retards who would throw him money to play in addition to the money he needs to live? he just stalwartly refuses to be wrong on any given topic, even if thats just admitting that he plays a game that he likes.
You can't beg poverty and then stream yourself spending $300 a day on a mobile game.

He ended in below 50th and got like 1m gold and that’s it. He could of spent more money (about 400) and gotten top 10! Why didn’t (not) DSP do this?

That and the stream would be a massive snoozefest.

1) DSP picks an S-Tier character for his match with optimal trainer setup
2) DSP makes one three gem match
3) DSP fires off multiple special moves in a row
4) 1, 2, 3

Over and over and over....
Lots of streamers for champs (including me) do this! People want to see characters and builds they don’t have

What I find interesting is that Phil doesn't seem to be diverting money from anything else into his gacha funds. He's apparently just trudging forward with what he usually spends on take-out and whatnot, along with the actual bills he has to pay, and leaving the gacha spending to whatever his tips let him afford once that stuff is taken care of.

That actually suggests a level of fiscal responsibility I would never expect from him. But it's probably just him being so autistic about change that even his gacha addiction can't take money away from his need for fast food, gin, and whatever WWE pay-per-views he feels like ordering, because that would constitute too much of a disruption from his routine. Would explain why low tips are such a bummer to him.

It also really sends home why his declining of money from anything but tips is such a retarded move, because it's actually fucking his mobile gaming. And leave it to him to not see that coming. Or learn from this.

Well yeah. I, and I believe others, have always assumed that his Twitch/YT/Patreon money was what he used for his mortgage and bills. His tips are what he uses for his gacha.

Just a reminder that around the date DSP started playing Champions (according to the website 1577 days ago, so that's around Feb-8-2017), he was oddly interested in mobile gaming.

Exvius is not the only one that still uses Facebook to secure progress, that is insanely asinine for 2021.

It's also lovely that DSP's default avatar on the games he plays is reminiscing of Scopely's logo.

Addicts have remarkable capacities for denial. They could have just lost their last friend over their behavior, or alienated their entire family, be living in a single room, waking up and vomiting blood every day, and still tell themselves it's completely peachy. So long as they get their next fix. I'm sure on some level he knows what a fuck up he is, but if he really grasped it, he'd stop, or at least try to.

I found dsp in versus ! I dabbed on him with the mdm and irs

New spend event. I got all points except 100k from using sid. Dsp’s score - my score - 100k = 429k / 3000 points per loot coin / 30 coins per hundred dollars = 476 dollars! After the free points this is a pure spend event . Will keep you updated
I swear to God, this is the ugliest fucking game ever made. Every single facet, every single iota of it screams 'i was hobbled together by a pajeet in the middle of a shitting street on a vacuum tube potato.'

It's, somehow, uglier than any of the bejeweled shovelware that was saturating every single PC back in the early 2000s. On my first smart phone I played so many candy crush clones that were clearly made by chink gook asset flippers yet still looked more professionally made than Champions. Whoever did the wrestler art for Champions needs to have his fingers cut off because those wrestlers are deep in the uncanny valley of 'cartoonishly stupid but trying to look badass.' The BIG BOLD ITALIC text, font, layout... All of it just assaults the senses. I thank the great good Lord that I haven't heard what this pile of shit sounds like.

Goddammit Phil you stupid fucking pig. How could this abomination take >$50k from you. Every single Champions player has got to be on the spectrum.

Edit: I'm a faggot phone poster.

I must have an even lower opinion of him than you do, then, because I don't think he would at all. Every facet of his life is fucked, in ways that clearly bother him, yet he lifts not a finger to rectify any of it. I don't think there's a rock bottom for Phil to hit where he wakes the fuck up and does something about it. His internet career may get him a six figure income, but it's otherwise ruined beyond comprehension. No growth is possible, only stagnation or decay. Same with his relationships. The only people he has a semblance of one with are his parents, and he moved to the other side of the country in order to put the max distance between them that he could tolerate (leaving the U.S. is not an option for Phil, that's too drastic of a change). The only escape he once had from the way his caustic nature destroys everything he touches was Champions, which detractors took away from him, yet he persists with it. He knows exactly why he does, as well, and trudges forward anyway.

Why? Because recovery from addiction is hard, and even he knows that. Phil does not rise to the occasion on anything, let alone the things he most should. He doesn't even do it properly after things have gone to shit, he just accepts that this is his life now and continues the behaviors that put him there to begin with. Out of not just laziness but an insistence on having everything he wants WITHOUT exerting himself to get it. When his whalechairs are gone, he's heading back to Connecticut with his pig tail between his legs and moving back in with his parents, until they die and then he's out on the street. He will do nothing to prevent this.

I agree with you in the fact that WWE Champions is a fucking ugly game. Along with what you said, the game is absolutely predatory to its userbase on a scale that I haven't seen before.

Friendly reminder the 40k is the MINIMUM he might have spent on Champions because for awhile he was max VIP and 100% still spending his couple hundred or more an event.

The 40,000 is only to get max VIP, so we have no idea just how much he spent afterwards but based on it looking like all tips go to gacha.... a LOT.

I would also imagine Phil spent quite a bit more than he does now on gacha because he had more income to spend on gacha.

Its entirely possible he's hit six figures, or at least close. And if not on Champions alone, then surely on all his gachas combined.

We know it's the minimum, but because it's the only solid figure we can have, it's what gets brought up most, and besides that, $40k is still more than enough of a waste of money for Phil to be laughed at until another 8000 pages gets added to the main thread, even if Phil doesn't live that long. Especially since he is not new to this kind of shit, he has had plenty of warning about what kind of money it can take to have something to flex on people within a mobile game and he went at it anyways, because he's that pathetically in need for such an opportunity.

I do very much think that that's exactly what motivated Phil to get into whaling out on Champions, too. I don't think it's addiction to the games themselves, he has been willing to jump ship the instant it's no longer gratifying for that purpose, aside from when detractors ruined it for him, which is probably THE reason he still plays Champions. It's him giving us the finger. When the devs changed things in that other game, that was one thing, but when things went great until his account got found and his rep cost him his escape, that was another thing entirely. Now he had an enemy, who he already hated, to do battle with, by refusing to give them what he thought they wanted, which was to quit.
