If they were smart we would get P3 and P4 remastered but because of the VA allegations we can kiss that goodbye. Or they would just recast with that Zach Aguilar which.......no thanks. I imagine Beyond Good and Evil 2 is dead. Shame because the early trailers I barely remember Jade in them.

I would love to see Ace Attorney Investigations collection. Please.....Crapcom....oniisama......onegai
BG&E2 was a always online games as service shit, it can stay dead. Also was a prequel and Jade was a villain

It was funny in the past just from the entertainment of watching 40+ year old balding men wearing hip, image-assessed clothing while pretending to be excited and enthusiastic about the latest iteration of their annual free-to-play bowel movement DLC-ridden trashware. Now, not so much.

E3 2003? What about something earlier. E3 '95

Or what about before E3, CES (Consumer Electronic Show)
CES '92
I'm sure it was cool in the 90s too, but I didn't start following it until the 2000s.

Call me if they show Prime 4, other than that I could give a fuck about "shill to you" the event. The more I think about the current state of the industry, the more fearful I grow of a potential 3rd-wave Samus, and I'd be done with it at that point.
Prime 4 is being developed by the Austin Texas based Retro studios, it's Austin, there's no way they aren't going to try to make the game at least somewhat Woke, it's just a question of whether it will be enough to ruin it.

That and most of the people who made MP1-3 at Retro left after 3. But hey, this is the studio where a founder was dumb enough to host their pornsite on Nintendos servers and spend years working on stuff with absolutely no tools at all yet somehow crank out Metroid Prime.

E3 was only cool when it had some mystique about it because it was only available to the "industry" and the only way I got info about it was from magazines.

The second I started seeing livestreams of the show floor, it seemed like everything went to shit. I assume this is because they started wasting all their time and money on the spectacle instead of just showing off the games.

It can still be an entertaining trainwreck, of course. But even that seems to have gotten weaker in the past couple years with Game Awards replacing it.
It wasn't just that. E3 changed as well.

One of my favourite bits of old E3 was hearing about the weird and obscure things at Kentia Hall. That got less coverage over time, then disappeared. Journalists might also be to blame. Articles about wandering the show floor were replaced with booked interviews and coverage of AAA games exclusively. It makes sense if that's what most people are in to, but it hurt E3 coverage overall.

At it's core, E3 was an advertisement event. You could argue it was a big party and celebration of games, but advertising all the same. Enjoying it unironically was fine, as seen by the nostalgia of people here. But even if E3 returned to it's glory days, it would be swamped with consoomer bugmen and no-fun-allowed activists.

I don't remember to see game companies like Nintendo being controlled by danger hairs.
Let me introduce you to Nintendo of America and Nintendo Treehouse.

If they turned it off for the Trilogy, I would hope they can turn it off for 4. But hoping is the problem there, and Ninty is utterly unpredictable. Best case scenario is they learn from the disaster that was MOM and have Samus shut her mouth so at least there's no potential for cringey monologues there.

Prime 1's development story is apparently one notorious clusterfuck, but somehow, former Turok gaijins and Miyamoto made one of the best games ever.

Anyone else remember their Fire Emblem """translations""", I sure do.

Yeah, I remember Kentia hall, I remember reading about incredibly bizarre shit like a card game themed around Yo Mama jokes created by the Wayans brothers.

Nintendo will probably only allow them to do so much, but don't expect anything like the Zero Suit or Justin Bailey, that's for sure.

Managed to do so after getting a visit from angry Japanese businessmen. But yeah Metroid Prime 4 doesn't look good so far, the best result from this is if it's announced that it's canned at this point.

Looking forward to the Crowbcat compilation.
God, if only we're lucky enough for that to wake him up.

I can't off of the top of my head remember anything woke or cancerous about the translations aside from them changing one of the dialog scenes from actual character development to "..." being the only thing said.
They put on a good show back in the day, lots of cool booths, booth babes etc.
Pour one out for all my booth babe homies that lost their jobs.

Wii U/3DS was really infamous between the recurrent censorship and "translations" and I'm reminded of some Nintendo fanboys who viewed the critiques of the localizations like a personal attack against the company. It's a good thing that Nintendo of America lost any sort of power past that generation and Reggie rage-quitted right afterwards as he couldn't do anything against worldwide releases. I'm glad the region-locking is also gone

Nintendo of America got gimped eons ago back around the time of the SNES and n64 switch over. Nintendo Power and many of what are considered cornerstones of western Nintendo nostalgia was only a thing because the American branch decided to do it and the Japanese branch didn't really like the idea of Nintendo Power and other things. Nintendo of America not being able to make decisions on what the west wanted hurt it constantly which is why the n64, Gamecube, Wii, and Wii-U had major issues releasing games because of how tone deaf Nintendo of Japan is. Xenoblade's limited release in the west for the wii was due to japan's retardation as well as the dry spells that have plagued each system that started during the end of the n64.

Also Reggie didn't rage quit, he just moved on.

Nintendo of America were the ones who made the decision not to release xenoblade, they were absolute cunts about it and were shitheads to nintendo europe about it too

"I wanted to bring Xenoblade here. The deal was, how much of a localization effort is it? How many units are we going to sell, are we going to make money? We were literally having this debate while Operation Rainfall was happening, and we were aware that there was interest for the game, but we had to make sure that it was a strong financial proposition.

I’m paid to make sure that we’re driving the business forward—so we’re aware of what’s happening, but in the end we’ve got to do what’s best for the company. The thing we know [about petitions] is that 100,000 signatures doesn’t mean 100,000 sales."

Entirely their failure

It goes a bit deeper than that, NOJ didn't want to bring over RPGs outside of Pokemon because they felt that they didn't sell or could take away sales from their cash cow in the west. That was their dictation, it was also backed up with both Gamecube and Wii Fire Emblems were discounted in the bargain bins when they were on store shelves, neither of them moved enough units on consoles. Them having a grip on NOA just meant that did what the higher ups in NOJ wanted. In general NOA and NOE never argue with NOJ because they're the ones who have the final say. Nintendo's corporate structure really doesn't grant the branches autonomy.

I miss the days from 15-20 years ago when a big game would be announced at E3 and it would be released within 6-18 months. Things are announced way too early these days. I remember thinking that the time that elapsed between Final Fantasy XIII’s announcement and release (May 2006-early 2010 in the US) was exceptionally long, but the Final Fantasy VII Remake eclipsed even that. And that’s not even factoring in how many years a game is previewed that all of the surprise has been sucked away by the time it’s released.

@ChefKiss beat me to it, and provided sources (which is more effort than I'd put in). The Opperation Rainfall debacle was NoA's doing.

My understanding at the time was that NoA wanted to be the Mario/Zelda/Pokemon company and anything outside of that would be resisted as much as possible, and half arsed if forced by Japan.

Now that I've mentioned it, I might as well address this.
I can't off of the top of my head remember anything woke or cancerous about the translations aside from them changing one of the dialog scenes from actual character development to "..." being the only thing said.
Nintendo Treehouse is famous for butchering localisations. Usually to add memes that are outdated by the time the game comes out.

As for Fire Emblem. One character was re-written to be obsessed with pickles. I want to say a character, upon meeting their god and being in awe, was rewritten says "whats up!". There's a lot of examples, though I'm too lazy to read the blocks of text. Some of the cuts were woke, like removing the face touching mini game, but I don't know specifically woke changes to Fire Emblem beyond that, though I've heard of them.
