Security guards definitely don't.
Depends what kind of security. The guards in armored transport wear plates from what I've seen.
On people "relying" on armor. I don't care how unrealistic the need for armor is, if anyone is buying something it should work. Armor should be a quality product and people making inferior products should be shamed out of the industry.

Some of the school guards in Florida are rocking full plates and rifles. It varies by county. As for police? Everyone has an active shooter kit now.

Yes and same for the assholes selling fake life vests, but in this particular case, I don't mind if these troons rely on this defective troon armor.
Luckily for the tranch, it's all a larp so it doesn't matter. But this now gives them the opportunity to grift for some real plates!

Good God that stuff looks awful!

I have no idea if this is meant to look like this (I'm not into Mexican food and only NOW know what this even IS because I hit Google lens while cropping and it told me it's refried beans) - it looks like what you'd expect to come out of the ranch dogs if they got in the trash! 🤢

Do they ALWAYS look this revolting or is it just another example of troons absolutely mullering everything they touch?

You're not alone, just the sight of refried beans grosses me out. It looks predigested. They always look like this. (But I did learn from this thread you can add more to it and make it a bit better.) (But I have never seen it the "good" way.)
I like Kevin's need to voice his opinion despite not knowing anything relevant to the situation.
Mistress would never use bad plate. Mistress is good. Mistress is strong. Mistress can deflect bullets with her perfect female breasts. Mistress would never lie to Am Hole.

They've admitted not knowing anything about armor. How many other things do they not have "technical knowledge" about? If your whole thing is self-sufficiency, you should know a bit about your gun safety gear. Like every other project undertaken on the ranch, it is half-assed for the photoshoot, and not even up to a photoshoot's standards.

It serves to highlight the complete and total laziness of their larp. They live in a world where all the information they could ever want is at their fingertips. There's plenty of incorrect information on the internet, but it's big enough now that you can pretty easily find critiques that will guide you into to information and methods that are at least practical even if they aren't the latest and greatest. There are extremely popular farming and homesteading channels because a lot of people romanticize the lifestyle. It's hard work and the return isn't worth it to most but, it's still really interesting to watch people who work the earth.

They coom and consoom all day instead.

badass because it was metal and shit. It wasn't even cheap. The stairs were $800-850 and had to be shipped freight. It was far more expensive to buy that eyesore than it would have been for any competent carpenter to build them
I would have done it for $600. Of course, if the deck is bad and they refused to address it I would have walked rather than help them.

The Earthside Saga continued with discord leaks, sperging and more leaks and sperg promised
The troon doing this is an SRA stalwar,t and is truly insane looking through their twitter feed; with no topic too inconsequential to force its opinion into and start reeeeeeeing

Anyway, fucking on Earthside Manufacturing
This thread is shitting on the manufacturing process and lack of testing

If you go to the website of the company that made made those plates they're don't indicate any ballistic rating.

A Level 3 plate that most of those goofs buy isn't rated to stop 30.06 and won't stop 55 grain .223 out of a 20 inch barrel, which the scribble on that plate indicates was used.

The armor itself is really weird too, they riveted a steel plate to a poly plate, the assumption being the poly plate would catch the pieces of the bullet after they impact the steel.

But riveting armor is an awful idea as tank crewed learned during the first world war.

It's not just that, it's also that they lack the ability to critically think. See: their new stairs. They arrive at whatever is easiest (buy premade stairs, get plates for free) and never think for one second after.

Well then Plates are the Tranchers least concern. Earl could just casually stroll by and offer them a cyanide pie and they'd go ham on it.

He must be on the SERT team if he's wearing plates to "work" regularly. Beat cops don't really wear plates. Security guards definitely don't.

That's the most ridiculous thing about this whole armor shit. Listen, if you wanna buy body armor I don't give a shit. But civilians don't face "life or death" scenarios that make them rely on the quality of their armor. Law enforcement and soldiers do, but civilians only face that as a hypothetical, specifically an apocalyptic one.

Your plates aren't gonna help you when you get shot by a robber or (much more likely) in a domestic, because you aren't gonna be wearing your plate carrier. You gonna have an alarm that you drill with to put your body armor on? How many hours a day you gonna wear it?
I use the term plate and panel fairly interchangeably because I'm lazy, just clarifying. Spank me daddy.

I use soft armor panels. I have no need for rifle plates. I have rifle plates sitting in a box.

The whole point is if you need armor buy reputable armor.

also why is there a bit of jalapeno in the beef? It's not hurting anything by being there but that shows a distinct lack of care if you're going to serve cross contaminated food like that.
I would assume that single pickled jalapeno is there to differentiate the spicy pan of beef from the non-spicy one.
