Yes, hello? I live in Europe and I found your number from a rap song. I will spend 3 hours talking about wumaos and a big titted dragon anime girl. I will be in your care! Some of you may want to try calling this number 1-800-273-8255 and tell them about the big tiddy dragon girl.
I wonder if it still counts as gayops to organize prank calling the suicide prevention hotline. Some of you may want to try calling this number 1-800-273-8255 and tell them about the big tiddy dragon girl.
I was just thinking about that speculation from way back!Few months ago there were speculations here what will happen in 2021. One of the top predictions was "big graduation", with some people commenting that they would be surprised if this actually won't happen. Yet what has happened just now was a big, nasty surprise for almost everyone I guess. The shockwaves are big and this caliber of graduation is unprecedented - as has been mentioned, Mano Aloe still isn't forgotten despite streaming for, like, two weeks. For Coco people may build statues or something, I would not be surprised.
As unpleasant as it is, the aftermath will be interesting to watch, especially in the context of EN2 debut. EN fans took a punch in the gut today and are sad and/or salty, but just like with the chink shit rage (r/hololive was bright red on that day), it usually burns out quickly. But this graduation is not coming off, just like the suspension in September - and people will remember it. Basically the perception of this relatively new, shiny vtuber business has changed for the western audiences and next graduations most likely won't be as shocking, for better or worse.
For me, clip with Coco shitting on Watame's crap internet was the first subbed video with a vtuber I have watched and I thought to myself: "hey, this vtuber business is not only cute uwu animu girls pretending to be perfect waifus". Approx. 6 months later, when Coco and Haachama got suspended, I understood that I actually care about this whole business. And now I think it's time for me to move on - I will be still keeping tabs on vtubers etc., but I feel kinda detached right now. With the lockdowns lifted etc. I can return to some old activities instead of watching clips and streams (but my Japanese listening comprehension has improved, there is no doubt about that), so maybe this is a sign to actually do it. Or whatever.

so maybe there should be some thread-specific stickers just for that...?
You know speaking of doggo, if we assume it’s correct to believe Coco informed people of this with some sort of warning a while ago, I wonder if that was the thing she was really sad about in that tweet she quickly deleted? If I recall properly she was sad enough she said something along the lines of considering graduation too. I don’t believe she ever elaborated though and basically just thanked her fans and said she appreciated all the worry and support she got despite removing the tweet fast. Granted I forget when that happened offhand, maybe that was long enough ago it’s not even close. For the people grieving in this thread, have a wholesome doggo, on the house:
*Laughs in Ayame*I mean we know that Cover does have mandated minimums, but that's 3 pieces of content per week. It technically doesn't even have to be streams.
shitty internet? because I assume nothing they do this time is anything they haven't done dozens of times before.10 minutes in, the stream of the TTRPG training between Kiara and Calli has technical difficulties
Nothing has changed in that regard i see
i really really don't see this happening.I think the biggest worry for me after all of this is what a few have mentioned earlier. I don't want this to start some massive exodus of talent and have a lot of the girls graduate. (Unless they are joining some Coco created agency)
I know a few girls like Marine and Aqua have been having some mental issues lately, and it's all more of a "beginning of the end" feeling than anything else. I wish them the best and if that's truly the only way for them to be healthy I could understand, but it would be miserable.
As i suspected is Calli internet going to the shit again, i swear that Reaper need someone to bonk her so she can learnshitty internet? because I assume nothing they do this time is anything they haven't done dozens of times before.
My theory is Mel is ''Graduating'' after Holofest 2 or shortly after. Also, in 2021 I believe we'll have at least 1 or 2 more Graduations.
It's inevitable this will happen and it will make huge waves regardless of who it is because it hasn't happened before, none of the established holos has even shown serious intentions of quitting. Sure, some of them showed their doubts before, on being unsure if they're funny/endearing/good at ___/ etc. but never on stream has a Holo discussed the possibility of quitting altogether (or proof me if I'm wrong, I havent heard on any of that).
Just curious on how will these Graduations hit the community, as spergs take it for granted these chuubas will be there ''forever''. Cali for example: I think Hololive is but a mere stepping stone for her and the moment she gains momentum and a major record label contract she will quit. It seems she's enjoying it more than she thought she would, but she's obviously pursuing a music career first and foremost. The same could be said from Suichan but I don't know as much from her.
If you connect the dots Kiara might also be a ticking bomb.
In any case, we have no clue what's going on in the background and their private lives. There's multiple reasons I can think of for a sudden or planned graduation.
Who do y'all think will be the first JP/EN Holo to Graduate? (yeah i know about chris and aloe but disregard em)
Putting my bets on Luna, she always sounds like she's dying after talking for 10 seconds
To flip the question though which Holo do you think will last the longest? There I'm betting on the entirety of gen 3
Coco is probably up there too considering how much she streams on both accounts. Also, not necessarily from Hololive but i think Roberu would last pretty fuckin long for the same reasons, he's addicted to streaming.
Im thinking Azki might stay for quite some time too since her music career is intricately connected to her Vtuber self but i don't really know much about her.
If we are going that route she and Choco are the ones that are have high odds of graduating, the others are going solid and there is no reason to graduate unless they found a better gig
Luna is on the group of "if you dont mention she is Hololive you would not notice" , the second one in that group is Okayu but she do it by choice, she is still pulling consistent numbers same as Luna, they are like a Cult classic troupe in vchuba form, but no i dont think she is going to graduate, being in Hololive for a good time look good in a resume and this year even talents that were being left behind like Akirose got a boost, is a good year to be in Homolive (except if you are Mano Aloe)
My money's actually on Matsuri graduating. She's started streaming without an avatar as Nozomi Something-or-Other and she's really grown more distant from the other girls, from what I've seen. It's pretty much public knowledge that she's got self-esteem issues and trouble with personal boundaries (which she's admitted on stream).
The first and second gens tend to lag a bit with the numbers and my money would be on Mel to retire before Aki, since Aki's new avatar may pump some new life and garner more attention. Hololive hasn't grown to the point of Nijisanji, but they are beginning to hit that peak saturation point for their own brand. The successful ones have all been able to quit their day jobs, for the most part, but the ones whose subs and superchats lag behind (like Mel or Aki) are going to get hit by the negative feedback cycle where if you can't stream enough, you can't get enough subs and superchats but because they don't get enough of those, they have to work other jobs, rinse, repeat, etc.
Actually, I see Coco being the first of Gen 4 to retire/graduate. I think it is a ways off but I get certain vibes that make me think it is inevitable.
tl;dr: Matsuri early-to-mid 2021. Mel sometime 2021. Coco sometime 2022.
Don't forget Mio who went on break, Shion's roommate also seems to had a meltdown. Think Korone a couple of months ago posted on Twitter about feeling a lil directionless that got deleted quickly.I think the biggest worry for me after all of this is what a few have mentioned earlier. I don't want this to start some massive exodus of talent and have a lot of the girls graduate. (Unless they are joining some Coco created agency)

I unironically think Coco can do so much more as Kson.i really really don't see this happening.
I was really distraught, but it really just seems like coco wants out to go solo, and take anti heat off her friends.
I watched that stream and I thought this was a serious song.Watching the last karaoke stream of Gura i laughed to hard at she going full tiktok singing a Backyardigan song
Holomen have enough clout now that they can strike it solo and have enough spergs track them down and spread them around to recapture their original audience. They wouldn't make nearly as much money, have as high-quality models and rigs, or big concerts and merch, but they'd have the freedom to stream and make whatever the fuck they want, still produce music, and probably have a much more 'my pace' life.i really really don't see this happening.

Well, if it's OBS there's not much that can be done. It's a piece of shit.Edit: is OBS that went to the shit.. again

Edit 2: started already, 26 minutes delay
I've mentioned this in the thread before, but Nijisanji is presented in a way where the company says 'Here is a huge variety of entertainers for you: Pick the ones you like!'. Most fans are isolated. There are groups, generations, ship bait, and in-jokes of course, but it was never promoted as a 'family' where they're all in it together as a singular unit.On a related note, was there panic the first time Niji had a major graduation? I know Hololive is the poster child of VTubing and it's much easier to follow them on the English side, but I'm curious if there was any kind of hysteria regarding that? I imagine the large number of talents softens the blow.
what if that sad thing that prompted the accidental tweet was the moment Coco decided the wanted to graduate. That's one helluva domino effect
Yeah that deleted tweet was definitely about this, she said she wanted to graduate too
