I saw Lazer Team in a big theater with a huge crowd of people. Really enjoyed it too. Wasn’t some super big impressive film or anything, but it was fun. I actually own a copy of it.

I was so confident in that film being good that I took my mates to see it. Then I autistically sat through the credits so I could see my name in the list of backers. Just like Guardians of the Galaxy my friends liked it more than I did. It was a decent film, I liked it well enough but they really, really liked it. I guess I was just poisoned by expectations. It was pretty close to me cutting ties with the RT community as a whole so maybe that coloured my perceptions a bit.

You can pirate it probably. Though I wouldn't advise it.

Kind of. So, it's set years after the first one where the team has broken up and hate each other because now they're has beens, except for Gavin because his helmet makes him super smart.

So Gavin's character gets sucked into a wormhole and this scientist chick he was banging tries to get the others to rescue him. But all they care about is how Gavin managed to get his helmet off so they only go to finally get their parts of the suit removed too.

They spend the entire movie on a space ship fucking around and then blow it up (I forget how, sorry) and then a press conference at the end states that the next one will be about time travel. But that never happened, which is good.

Don't forget the scene where they literally eat shit, can't forget that iconic scene. I really did not care for the sequel.

Eh. Lazer Team for me was a movie that fell in the category of forgettable B-Movies that are too competently made to be comedic, but not good enough to be, well, good, because the writing and acting isn't up to it.

I'm conflicted, on one hand, I'd love to see Ray again in an AH video with the remaining Lads and Gents, on the other hand I don't think I can take another video of seeing fans scream Mark Nutt at RTX panels ever again. Plus, you just know the video won't be Geoff, Jack, Michael as the Gents and Gavin, Ray and Jeremy as the Lads, you'd end up with Trevor or Fredo or Ky or whoeverthefuck else as well.

Me too, they would have the most chemistry together as they did in the og series. Their chemistry really was the driving factor in my enjoyment of their videos, now there is none of that. The only "new" AH video I go back to watch is the Off Topic they did with Ray 2 years ago.

In a way, the worst outcome of this is the video being good, because it would mean the guys still have some semblance of what made the channel successful in the first place. That they could still, theoretically, be likable if their politics/company weren’t so unbelievably fucked, and their language so neutered and controlled. It makes the downfall of the company sadder if they still have the ability to make a good video. (It would also put wind in the sails of coping fans holding out on AH. “See? They’re still just as good as 9 years ago!”)

On the contrary, the best outcome is the video being total shit. It means they’re irredeemable and I can laugh at their failure guilt-free.

But most likely, the video will just be passable. It’ll be fine. Forgettable. Just another blip on their slow decline.

I think that everyone does broski. At some point though we have to accept that the lads and gents of 8-10 years ago are gone and move on ourselves.
