Another Evil Dead game (Left 4 Dead inspired)

You believe people play DbD for the atmosphere and `horror`?
Reasons why BHVR is still no.1 is because there´s no competition which hadn´t fucked itself over by going epic/discord or being miller´d and having most licenses

I think a lot of people are ambivalent about Dead By Daylight's atmosphere; it helps at best, people are neutral about it at worst. Identity V's artistic choices are definitely the opposite, people are neutral at best, it hurts their impression of the game at worst. Similar issues with Wildstar, an MMO 5 or 6 years ago with a cartoonish design that went at odds with its hardcore gameplay.

Also, taking a step back I reviewed our posts back and forth here and between the acronyms and arcane content it probably seems like we're talking in code to anyone else in thread. Chuckled a bit

The biggest reveal for horror fans out of The Game Awards last week was Evil Dead: The Game, which Bruce Campbell has been teasing for a while now. Set for release next year on last-gen and next-gen consoles, the game features Campbell as the voice of Ash Williams, one of a handful of characters that will be included in the multi-player horror experience.

The game will feature co-op and PvP action, and looks to include not only Bruce Campbell’s Ash but also Dana DeLorenzo‘s Kelly Maxwell from the Starz series “Ash vs. Evil Dead”, Marcus Gilbert‘s Arthur from Army of Darkness, Richard DeManincor‘s Scotty from The Evil Dead, and even Ash’s cameo-hungry 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale.

Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive (World War Z) are behind the title, and the official Boss Team Games website has been updated this week with brand new information.

Boss Team describes the game, “For the first time ever, the Evil Dead universe comes together in one over-the-top experience starring boomstick-brandishing, chainsaw-wielding horror hero Ashley J. Williams. Boss Team Games has entered into an epic collaboration with Renaissance Pictures, STUDIOCANAL, leading entertainment company Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), and global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) to create this one-of-a-kind game that casts players against the forces of evil that have been unleashed from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, with sights and sounds inspired by the films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn, and Army of Darkness, as well as the STARZ original “Ash vs Evil Dead” television series.”

Note that the Sony-distributed Evil Dead from 2013 is not included in that list, which suggests the remake will not have a presence in the game. Then again, ya never know….

Furthermore, Boss Team breaks down the gameplay and how it all works, revealing this week that Evil Dead: The Game will allow you to play as a human or the Kandarian Demon!

Work together as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, crafting, managing your fear, and finding key artifacts to seal the breach between worlds. Or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and his friends while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls.

“Plenty of surprises await in this gore-filled battle against evil that captures the characters, horror, humor, and action from the franchise. Battle across memorable locations including the infamous cabin in the woods, brought to life with tons of terrifying visuals and all-new dialogue from Bruce Campbell. Discover more than 25 weapons, including Ash’s Gauntlet, Boomstick, and chainsaw, and advance in a variety of skill trees to grow stronger and survive in this fun co-op and PvP experience.”

Evil Dead: The Game is an upcoming co-op and PvP multiplayer title in development for PC, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

It's going to have a L4D style versus mode where you can play as Deadites.

I only care about this game because of videogamecarnage. Best evil dead playthroughs hands down. With this one it's going to be entertaining again with carnage.

So is this going to be assymetrical PvEvP like Friday the 13th or is it going to have PvP and PvE modes? The article didn't make it clear.

I can't wait to yell "WHO'S THAT KNOCKING AROUND IN MY FRUIT CELLAH!?"

First look at Pablo.

I had forgotten all about this. Still no game play videos, I take it?

I didn't really like his sidekicks in Ash vs Evil Dead. Remove them. Instead they should come up with a story reason for why there's four Ash's at once. They banter, complain and squabble about who's the real one, who's the lead character so to say. It's obviously the one that kills the most deadites and he gets the chance to tell the others to suck it at the end of the match.

They grew on me and I don't find them annoying anymore. They still pale in comparison to Ash.
