You know the whole game pricing thing makes me realise that a lot of people posting on Reset are like many of those graduates I know that stuck around in a university town and never fully moved away from the lifestyle. They turn their noses up at jobs that require sacrificing their weekends or that they consider they are too good for (retail, manual, warehouse, call center etc.) while also sneering at those they know who do take those jobs. But when some of those actually work have spending money, say for example to get games when they feel like it, they would despise them for that too, that the person had that money to spend despite being in the menial worker position.

Basically a lot of people on Ree think they are infinitely superior to most of the world despite the fact that the average delivery driver or waiter who actually works for a living rather than sponges probably has more disposable income than them. Mostly because it being money they worked hard for also means they tend to budget better too. So those people can occasionally pay full whack for a game they're really excited about whereas Reeers cannot do so quite so easily despite being more invested in gaming.

RetardEra for obvious reasons has gone all in on the UBI fantasy. It must be enough for vidya and porn as well as the ability to live in trendy, ultra-progressive locales.
