General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

For a while now after Coco's announcement, I've been entertaining a certain line of thinking... and after seeing the clips with Sora and Luna, I can't help but think her return to Hololive is a definite possibility.

Imagine this: Coco/Kson goes off into the wilderness for a year or so. She's doing everything she wants to do that Cover won't let her. And then, bam, Cover has a special announcement to make. Someone's coming back... 🤔
A small thought played out in my head reading this and the announcement is an animation of Aloe jumping out from behind stage curtains Power Bombing Coco in front of gen 4 holding a cake. (As a joke of course.)

Whats with Ame and diapers thats new to me

yeah I didn't get that shit either.

Coco explained that when they talked to arrange the collab, Amelia said something like "I'm afraid I will be nervous I'll pee myself" and Coco suggested she wore a diaper.

Anyway, I really can't understand Coco's decision. Couldn't she just do as that oni-bitch or the vampire and stream once a week a simple zatsudan, and occasionally doing collabs with the other members, while also streaming as kson?

Sui-chan's overtrimmed bangs have made it to her thumbnail.

Semi-related rrat: Anemachi acts as Suisei's live-in manager.

It might be that she just doesn't want to do the idol song-and-dance stuff.

As others have already noted, Coco wasn’t satisfied with just streaming and earning donations - she wanted to make original content where she can call all the shots and get the company to hook up with different programs, However, she couldn’t ever do that if she was a talent, and the prospect of remaining as one was ultimately too stifling for a free spirit like her.

She absolutely could just reduce her stream schedule to the bare minimum, but that would make the few times she does go online as Coco an obligation, even if the only one forcing her to do it is herself. As someone who seems allergic to being told what to do, a clean break was probably preferable to her.

So long as she's Coco, Kson can't go too wild either. Not to mention it will be clear sooner or later that she is not enjoying streaming as Coco anymore. I'm sure what you said came up during the discussion Coco have with her friends; they do go at length to find other alternative. But after all said and done, Coco realize that she can't have fun streaming as Coco for a lot longer. It will become just another work, a chore. Can she do it for that sweet sweet SC? Absolutely, but she's just so bad at forcing herself to do what she don't like. I don't think she hate idol stuff tho, she really enjoy herself singing last night. It's just "streaming safe stuff" that she hate.

Coco as an content creator has peaked under Hololive anyway. Her growth has slow to a crawl compare to her pre-incident. All her new project she try to come up with was shot down. She can't grow anymore and have to settle to be just "one of the Hololive member" streaming random game and collab and not herself. It can see why she decide to graduate now, under all that condition. Plus, instead of waiting until her popularity wane as she stream less and less, she choose to go with a bang and get all this cool shit collab/no taboo/ keep her archive/ last live/ and most of all carry over her fans. Best outcome considering everything and the shit that have happen really.

I just see no reason Cover would get sand in their vag over her appearing in some form or another if she so desired. Even if she wasn't under contract and they couldn't gain monetarily because of her, but could through who she collabed with.
Not to mention it would help their image, which is very important in Japanese society. You didn't lose your favorite because of "us" she chose to leave and now she's honoring us.

She has massive leverage, this isn't me coping, as I will follow her IRL streaming, but Coco as a character may not be as dead as we think.
this might be a bit of a stretch but i think Coco would be treated like an alumnus since she'll graduate properly, unlike Aloe who was forced to retire. If Cover is still dead set on sticking to the whole idol shtick and with how they 're using AKB48 for point of reference, we can expect her making an appearance from time to time after her graduation, maybe as a guest in future events.

this is just me coping though.

It's never been about "not allowed to do stuff", because she's always been allowed to stream as kson anyway. Hololive takes a 50% cut of her income as Coco, in return she gets concerts, events, 3D, and all the other idol things. Which wouldn't be so bad, except that she doesn't want to do high-stakes stuff, she does her best work with PNGs and shitty memes.

That's fucking insane. What a pain!

It's the HICpocalypse in the chat already.
I fucking love those hics in the chat, they're both cute and funny as shit

Well like literally anything else in Japan, they're either afraid of or hate change. Given what Coco's said about why she's leaving, this also applies to Cover. My hunch is they decided to stick to the "safe", traditional way of running an idol agency rather than take risks with new ideas talents like Coco have to offer.
Some things are slowly changing over there, like Christmas Cakes (basically unmarried woman over 25 = bad), used to be a big deal but nowadays it's not as much - thinking about it now, might be why a certain someone is magically 22 despite it being very unlikely - still gorgeous as fuck, beats plenty of younger women out there by a mile.

Eventually either someone with money to spare will travel abroad and see how behind they are in banking or simply wake up and think about then conclude that "Hey, that shouldn't suck that much!". Here's hoping!

Reactions: Blatant hypocrite
60k people watching, wonder who is going to be last one before the age after coco comes
I bet Shion is going to come in, they managed to get three people to collab instead of her and it's been noticed.
Nijisanji need better timing for they're steams the one with the kist viewers only has 2.5k viwers and many are under 1k, they need to schedule better
They're still quite small, aren't they? I mean, Nabi (she got a huge boost thanks to Watson, but still) is an indie and she's got more than twice as many subs as the biggest of them. I just feel bad for them since this is basically a dream come true for many, and other branches of theirs (like the India one) got axed before, so who knows if they're not going to flop...

Let's be honest here - even if they didn't overlap with Meme Review, people who don't watch NijiEN still won't watch NijiEN
They're competing with HoloEN, which is both good (sets a precedent and they probably wouldn't be there if not for it) and very bad since HoloEN is gigantic and basically dominates their turf. So it's pretty heavy in terms of competition.

I'm hoping Coco can break the mold from this retarded Japanese idea that once you leave it's like you never existed. She has obviously bargained this because HoloMems will be able to talk about her after she leaves. So call me eternally optimistic, but she may make an appearance from time to time as a visitor. Whether she can use her current model or whatever avatar she makes after this.

Considering that Holo is open now to collabs with Vshojo, Pikamee, etc, shutting her out completely as an ex employee (who they didn't want to lose) would be lunacy.

It's a difficult situation. On one hand, she's the first graduation that happened on friendly terms, on the other, she's massively influential to the point it was an absurdly common theory that she was leaving to assume a management position. Will that be the case when someone with less bargaining power leaves?

Still, I doubt they won't be watching what happens after she leaves. There's a chance for a shift for the better after she sets a precedent.

Probs just a joke for the tagline, she used "HINT: IT'S NOT YAGOO!" like a dozen times before that so it felt overused.

Haven't watched much of NijiEN, but Pomu at least has the charm to win over even fans deep on the side of Hololive like myself. Mostly because she seems possessed by the same brand of Z-tier luck as many members within YAGOO's House of Broken Girls.
Miko and Aki were stuck for a long time, Mel got an asshole of a stalker screwing up her business, and they all managed to catch up and stay afloat to this day, so it's definetly too early to call. They also got Walfie doing his art about them which helps (just see how much of a meme smol ame became).

Just saying here. The Nijisanji EN collab's participants are;
>3 Indonesians (Hana, Bon, Derem)
>A Korean (Ryu Hari)
>A (Trilingual) Korean girl currently in Australia for Uni (Ban Hada)
>A Japanese talent that speaks english that is currently on a year hiatus for solo streams to focus on her studies. (Sukoya Kana)
>A girl from their Chinese branch, VirtuaReal (Remi)
>Pomu who is cursed by navajo sand curses to be a wagie to retain medical insurance for an upcoming surgery in America (EST timezone)
>final 2 EN girls (Finana and Elira) are NEETs. Finana doxxed herself though and she's in CST.

They're already fucked for scheduling and 11pm EST is probably the best time for all of them.
There has to be a way for niji to push the EN branch, they try with ads and that didn't do much even do it got over 1 million views, collabing with other nijis didn't help either and clippers don't seem to like them that much and with Ensingers and En2 coming out it's gonna be game over
Dude let them be. You're more worried than their fan for fuck sake.
As a fan of Ban Hada and Pomu, Hada peaks at like maybe 300-400 viewers, Pomu gets a solid 1k maybe 2kish on a good stream game + day. Their streams are comfy and while I would like for them to be more popular their streams are fine as is right now.
It's not like NijiEN is doing badly. Hololive EN specifically blew up because non-Japanese viewers had seen the Japanese streams already and then moved to EN (that or they jumped over because of Senzawa). NijiEN doesn't have that kind of base built already. Considering their sub counts though, their progress is already quite impressive.

Plus I like the autistic fish girl and want to (lovingly) bully her.
HoloEN had the planets and stars align for them to get their popularity, Hololive being a big brand name in the west also helps with that. Nijisanji is more niche outside of Japan and this viewership for EN isn't unexpected. End of the day though numberfagging is retarded and how about you talk about the actual stream that happened.

I never checked out Derem Kado from Niji ID but her english accent was pretty cute and despite her design slightly filtering me I'll give her a watch now thanks to this stream. Also Pomu fucking coom'd when she got killed by the lesbo vomit nurse Sukoya which was pretty funny and Hana offers a clip.

It's baffling to me that people are concerned about NijiEN when NijiID gets new generations out the ass despite the previous gen barely breaking 20K subs.

The metrics are different, and I'd argue Niji more accurately represents what the community looks like when you don't have astronomical peaks and valleys like HoloEN do. I'm alright with a bit of numberfagging but I thought it was established pretty early on that expecting them to have comparable viewer/growth numbers to Holo was retarded.

If you compare their concurrent viewers relative to their subscriber counts you'd see Niji in general have a perfectly healthy viewer retention, and they wouldn't be adding new generations if those branches weren't profitable.

No, that means NijiEN are losers and we get to point and laugh at then
