Did they literally just put bacon around the jalapeno and then grill it? The pepper membrane is going to make that taste like shit
Also, grilling will dry the shit out of the bacon. You don't want dry bacon on jalapeno poppers. You want to cut them in half (length-wise), clean them out, remove the seeds/membranes (maybe save the seeds for adding back in) and add in filling, like cheese, then "seal" back up with the other half and wrap bacon around it. Then, bake it in the oven to help prevent it from drying out.
