Less to do with Confucianism and more to do with the thousands of years of insane bureaucratic corruption from Legalism. Mix those two together with a history of embarrassingly getting your shit kicked in repeatedly and multiple failed implementations of Meritocratic systems, and you have modern China. Mao, Communism, and the Great Leap Forward are just cherries on the top.
You'll notice, just like the Soviets back in the day, they changed their Flag to have the Colors of Rome (Gold and Mar's Red), because they are LARPing hard right now just as the Soviets' tried, they want their shot at a world Empire. When it inevitably crumbles however, just like Russia did, they will change their flag colors again.

They have red and gold because thats what all countries did back then. They do not give a fuck about Rome, they want to be ancient China, not ancient Europe.

Best conference was Microsofts? The rest must have been really, really bad.
Naw, Nintendo's was really dope, actually:
>SMTV has a release date and it doesn't look like hot garbage
>Metroid Dread, a rumor so old that zoomers weren't even born when it started circulating actually has a game now
>Fatal Frame is getting a new release
>Super Monkey Ball is getting the Leifthrasir treatment
>Advance Wars isn't dead anymore
>BOTW's sequel is an actual game now and not just a very big tech demo

Say what you want about the style choices, I'm as happy as a pig in shit right now. /v/ is homolusting over the SMTV protag but personally I just think his suit looks cool. Gives me big demifiend vibes.
Microsoft and the others are just salty that Nintendo actually showed games instead of shoving Woke bullshit down our throats like they did, to some degree or another. And as we all know, in their eyes, anyone that deviates from the religion of Woke must be punished - one way or another. I guess this is thier way of doing that for E3.

Editors from IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer, GamesRadar+, Game Bonfire and IGN China had their say for the big vote, with results being announced live during E3's official coverage. The most anticipated game went to Forza Horizon 5, and Microsoft took home the 'best presentation' award.

With a 2 day head start Forza's already fallen behind in total views. It's by no means a bad score... but this is a far better yardstick than 6 random journos.

So what I gather from the current E3 news this year is that most gaming companies want to pander to certain minorities who don't have money to buy games even if they were interested in doing so. I fear for the state of gaming in the coming future.

Really off-topic but here is a video of ADVChina (A couple of foreigners that have been living in china for years) where they explain why China is set con copying/pirating everything (In this video they visit a pirated town by the way)
TL;DW: Chinese culture is different from western culture as it's based on Confucianism, with one of the roots of confucianism being the lack of individualism, where individuals are expected to take into consideration their wider context and connections. For one example imagine you are a chinese student and someone asks you for your homework, in America it would be seen as normal to tell that person to fuck off or ask for something in exchange, in China however not sharing it would be seen as selfish and would cost you a lot of face with everybody else.

These guys also have another video on this subject that I recommend watching where they explain that when marrying In China you don't marry only your wife but her whole family, with dozens of traditions that must be followed, the worst one that I heard probably being the lack of husband/wife intimacy as your parents in law may move in with you should they desire to and not only would it be perfectly socially acceptable but also failing to accomodate them is equivalent to failing your wife.
There's also the whole thing about the strong should trample over the weak. If you can't do your own homework, that's on you.

It is, Advance Wars was a nifty little series. It wasn't super deep IIRC but it was pretty fun.

I wonder if they are going to have online pvp.
Iirc Dark Conflict and Dual Strike had it so it'd be simple to do
It's also being developed by WayForward and not Intelligent Systems so we don't have to expect any lunacy from them in terms of features

Apparently she interviewed Shaun Murray, the No Mans Sky guy. She says she got access to looking at their procedural generation tech and says it's "sad" how the game failed as it did at first. If what she says is true, how could you not tell immediatelty that their tech was way less than half baked? None of these people understand the technical side of game dev at all anymore.
What did you expect? She used to work for Kotaku. All she did was write blogposts and whine about online trolls. Now she's the fucking editor in chief of IGN.

If Devolver really want to subversive next year then they'll put together a presentation that mocks all the minority pandering shit. Doubt that they'll do that because I'd imagine that behind it all they are in lockstep with it as well.
Not only are they in lockstep, Devolver Digital is actively trying to keep Feminist Frequency afloat. They were recently matching pledges in a donation drive for Anita's company. The money was specifically going to FF's new "Games and Online Harassment" hotline.

It especially bugs me because Devolver has published a few games I really liked, and Anita Sarkeesian is an industry-ruining bug that needs to be squashed before more damage is done. I don't believe for a second that her hotline is going to help any more people than Zoe Quinn's did.

I'm sure someone else was more direct than I was but this was my comment : "They might as well go out of their way to not let Nintendo be deemed the winner just to show how utterly bankrupt E3 is."

Just unreal. To think the most anticipated game was a freaking driving game, a genre I haven't heard any hype for since some iteration of Gran Turismo.

On another note, it's also unreal how little updates we've gotten for major games besides Breath of the Wild 2, FF16, Elden Ring, and Halo Infinite and even then we just got some trailers for the first 2. At least Halo Infinite showed off gameplay. Nothing on FF7 remake, nothing on Kingdom Hearts (not that I personally care anymore), nothing on System Shock 3 or the remake, nothing on Metroid Prime 4, Nothing on Diablo 4 (correct?), etc. That is quite underwhelming to say the least.

Edit : I forgot to add Perfect Dark on the list of no updates on.

Why the fuck would you show up at E3 but to not show any games at all?

I'll admit that I like carshit but come on, really? FH5 doesn't look like all that much different from the last game, in fact it looks like they're using the exact same engine. I'm kinda interested but they better change the balance of some vehicles, engine and drivetrain swapped cars are way too overpowered.

Nintendo won easily because they showed games people are actually going to be excited for. It's been over 15 years since we've got a proper 2D Metroid sequal, and they're finally revinvg the Advance Wars series. Microsoft was just okay.

Most anticipated was Forza? Not Halo, or Perfect Dark or Avowed or Hell blade 2 or any of the other games Microsoft have hyped but didn't show?

Best conference was Microsofts? The rest must have been really, really bad.
Graphics hogs apparently are pumped for it (I was AFK or look into at another screen while working and missed it,) I listened to a random pod cast last night where all of the hosts gave it too 3 ratings. It's not the type of game hardcore gamers would get excited about but I guess it deserves some recognition.
