Not when it concerns black people.
It's radical to take down anybody that's rich nowadays even if they've been incredibly well-meaning.
Reminds me of the trouble Tom Hanks got into with NPR despite doing an editorial about how history focuses too much on whites and not enough about the racist past. NPR told him he wasn't doing enough and should be antiracist. They pointed out why didn't Saving Private Ryan focus on how black soldiers couldn't get benefits after the war and Hanks' films too often show white people doing good things.

This meme is the perfect example as to why Critical Race Theory and cancel culture need to be mocked and destroyed every single day, whether on the Internet or in real life.

I don’t care if I act like a Charles Barkley and go on a fat, drunken rant. This “woke” ideology is making North America look like something out of a Monty Python sketch, while the rest of the globe has no idea what any of this stuff is making Americans confuse being proud with being dumb and arrogant.

My apologies for a slight rant, but this can not go left unsaid. Sooner rather than later, normal people can not ignore this and not say anything.

I've noticed the irony that the more the cult of woke tries to shove woke into everything, the less tolerant people can get of LGBTQ people and ethnic diversity, because they're sick of endless preaching.

Which of course could be by design: to try to keep the "little people" even more divided and conquered.
And if you are an LGB person and don't agree with the woke cult, they will harass you, call you a traitor, a "straight apologist", the whole kit and caboodle.

What a fucking lie. Equity means everybody on the smallest bike or the handicapped one because everyone technically CAN ride those, even though it’s only on the level of the kid and the crip. We wouldn’t want more capable people to reach their destination ahead of everyone else, gotta slow ‘em all down to the level of the weakest. Literally enforced survival - actually success - of the weakest.
Keywords for Today, the update for Raymond William's Keywords, points out that the word "Equity" actually means something like "fairness", "supply to each people according to he deserves", so the word is in contrast to mechanical "Equality" and is closer to the social justice ideal. From Page 148 of the book:

Of course SJW have no notion of fairness or justice. To them "equity" means banning all bicycles, or indeed anything fun or useful, from white people.

That picture looks like something out of Hotline Miami. Nightmarish.

Also, no worries for the rant. That's what we're here to do :)

What the fuck is this shit? I don't think Irish people had "white privilege" historically. The only ones pushing this americentric critical race theory bullshit are entitled, rich Dubliners with no understanding of anyone outside of their bubble.

I implore these people to go up to Northern Ireland and listen to their stories if they want something more recent. Critical race theory. Not even once.

I think you might be looking too deep into it. Most of these people are retarded teenagers/students who have no concept of what their actions mean down the road. The "adults" who cynically exploit this line of thinking are also not thinking ahead more than what using this shit means for their brand or bottom line

The Chimamanda Adichie article has rocked their world. It is a masterful put down. they can't handle it. Nigeria kicks ass, just like in sports! :story:

The story of this groupie who got up Adichie's ass and wanted the cache of being mentored by her, then turned on her and called her transphobe after she trooned out (or non-binaried, or whatever it is). also suggested she should be cut up with machetes.
(nothing unkind or insane about that, is there?)

The title of Adichie's article "IT IS OBSCENE" and was read so many times, her site crashed.

i've never read her books but my wife has. if they weren't so literary they might be called 'women's novels' but she is an excellent story teller, my sister in law refers to her as the African Margaret Atwood.

The Guardian:

‘It is obscene’: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie pens blistering essay against social media sanctimony

The novelist describes helping two writers who went on to insult her online, and condemns era of ‘angels jostling to out-angel one another’

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has written a detailed essay about the conduct of young people on social media “who are choking on sanctimony and lacking in compassion”, who she says are part of a generation “so terrified of having the wrong opinions that they have robbed themselves of the opportunity to think and to learn and to grow”.

Titled It Is Obscene, the essay was published by the Nigerian novelist and feminist on her website on Tuesday night. It attracted so much attention that her website temporarily crashed.

The essay goes into her interactions with two unnamed writers who attended Adichie’s Lagos writing workshop. Both later criticised her on social media for her comments about transgender people and feminism in a 2017 Channel 4 interview, saying “a trans woman is a trans woman”.

At the time, Adichie rejected the claim that she did not believe trans women were women, saying: “Of course they are women but in talking about feminism and gender and all of that, it’s important for us to acknowledge the differences in experience of gender.”

Adichie was subsequently named in the author biography of the first novel by one of the writers. Quoting from emails sent at the time, Adichie’s essay recounts how she asked for her name to be removed from the book, detailing further attacks on social media and how “this person began a narrative that I had sabotaged their career”.

Last year, the non-binary transgender author Akwaeke Emezi tweeted that two days after their novel, Freshwater, was published, “[Adichie] asked that her name be removed from my bio everywhere because of my tweets online. Most were about her transphobia.”

Adichie writes in her essay that she was “very supportive of this writer”, because she believed that “we need a diverse range of African stories”.

“Asking that my name be removed from your biography is not sabotaging your career. It is about protecting my boundaries of what I consider acceptable in civil human behaviour,” writes the author of Half of a Yellow Sun.

On Wednesday, Emezi posted a video on Instagram which partially responded to Adichie’s essay. “I am not going to read what home girl wrote and do like a blow-by-blow rebuttal of it, because I am not even going to read it. Because it doesn’t affect my life,” they said. “I am just going to poke my head in, remind us that we matter, that we are important, that our worlds are fucking bigger than anything that these people can ever imagine and that we don’t ever have to be legible to them. We don’t have to be validated by them.”

The other writer mentioned by Adichie was “welcomed” into the novelist’s life, Adichie writes in her essay, but after the criticism of Adichie’s comments, she “publicly insulted” Adichie on social media.

“It is a simple story – you got close to a famous person, you publicly insulted the famous person to aggrandize yourself, the famous person cut you off, you sent emails and texts that were ignored, and you then decided to go on social media to peddle falsehoods,” writes Adichie.

Adichie finishes her essay with a criticism of “certain young people today like these two from my writing workshop”, describing as “obscene” their “passionate performance of virtue that is well executed in the public space of Twitter but not in the intimate space of friendship”.

“We have a generation of young people on social media so terrified of having the wrong opinions that they have robbed themselves of the opportunity to think and to learn and to grow,” Adichie wrote. “I have spoken to young people who tell me they are terrified to tweet anything, that they read and reread their tweets because they fear they will be attacked by their own. The assumption of good faith is dead. What matters is not goodness but the appearance of goodness. We are no longer human beings. We are now angels jostling to out-angel one another. God help us. It is obscene.”
~~~
Here is her orignal essay (linked above too) ... but the site can hardly stay up.
the troons are convulsing, lots of "allies" upset that she will not "reconsider her opinions" and classifying her with Rowling.
edit: the non binary person who wants to cut her up is named Akwaeke Emezi
holy shit, i did NOT know Adichie was once quoted in a Beyonce song... OMG this is obv a VERY SERIOUS MATTER. :popcorn:
