The hornet's nest was already stirred up - people looked up his address and threatened his family (including his pregnant wife) before he made a response. His response was in fact based but not super "go fuck yourself" and was decently measured and had a through line of "I'm not a bad guy but if you don't want me around I don't need to be here".

It's still pretty crazy to me how people hate this man for one little thing, it's pretty ridiculous but I don't know why I expected better from them.

Anyways I feel like it wasn't too needed for him to leave the franchises a whole but to be fair people were starting to roll his family into this and he's been kinda hands-off as late letting game developers and stuff make Fnaf games of their own (Help wanted, Ar, etc) I think he might just be weathering the storm and not fully leaving.

Or he is fully retiring and that's kinda sad but Fnaf has become a mess so maybe it's for the best (at least for him) after all he's always said that he liked Fnaf as a trilogy and it honestly works pretty good that way.

Either way, I just hope the Fangame project (Fnaf expanded universe or whatever it was named) doesn't get canceled as well cuz there are some good fan games out there that I would love to see expanded upon.

To end this off you can say what you want about his games n' stuff but man was a nice/cool guy and I don't really know how to feel about him leaving Fnaf, the games all had a certain style/feel and it will just feel bizarre if it's fully headed by Steel wool or something.

He just wants to be a dad. That’s it. That’s literally all he wants to do with his life now, is just to be present in the lives of his children.

I respect this more than words can express.

I genuinely hope he finally gets that daughter he’s been trying for. He deserves anything he damn well wants (and I’ve never see him ask for anything at all) for how much good he’s put into the world.
