In 100 years of film the US put out countless classic films and the Soviet Union...put out some Eisenstein films and Ivan the Terrible.

This is a Bob tier comment. There are many important, quality films from the Soviet era.

Films that got their writers and directors imprisoned and executed for wrong think.

The problem is that most Soviet era films have never been translated into English.

The film "Stalker" is brilliant. And you watch the original Andrei Tarkovsky's film "Solaris" with the Hollywood version you will appreciate how the west can utterly butcher a remake.

I can understand a possible intent behind Pride as a concept. In a culture where homosexuality is frowned upon or shamed or otherwise discriminated against, sometimes violently, Pride could be an opportunity to show that there's nothing to fear from gay people, and nothing for gays to be ashamed of; "be proud" instead of "be ashamed." It could show that gay people are just like straight people, the only difference being who they're attracted to, and could be used to influence public support for gay rights.

But if that were ever the intent, that's not what Pride has been for a long ass time now. Instead, it's just been an excuse for public degeneracy, which only ends up turning off normies who might have been more receptive to a less in-your-face approach. It's morphed from a single day of parades to a week-long event to a whole fucking month now, and any sort of message has become diluted as the gay acronym keeps adding more letters. Furthermore, now that there really are no more gay rights struggles left in the US post-gay marriage, there's not much point to the activist angle anymore, which is why a lot of these organizations have jumped to troon rights. And that's before the whole woke capitalism angle comes into play; can you really claim you're oppressed when every major corporation in the world spouts pro-gay propaganda every June (but only on their Western branches, can't lose that Middle East/Asian business)?

As an aside, my frustrations are not coming from a "bash the queers" angle, which I know it could easily sound like. I just feel like you can't have it both ways; either you let your freak flag fly but accept that people are not going to approve of your shoving a dildo up your ass in public, or you live a quiet life and keep that shit in the bedroom. Too many are trying to have their cake and eat it too, especially when they go around bullying others who remain uncomfortable, with "bake the cake, bigot" being the prime example of this behavior.

To wrap up, I'll finish off by saying that the hollow platitudes that normies like Chris and Bobbo spout are just pathetic. You're not standing up for anything, you're not fighting any battles that haven't already been won. It's slacktivism taken to its extreme, and no gay person needs to hear about how some fat drunks from Bahstan think they're validated.
