Serious LGBT Discussion

For what it's worth, the "top vs. bottom" mindset of ancient pagan civilizations probably had a lot to do with the fact these were all pre-industrial societies with rigid class systems.
The fact that it even existed is depressing to me because it reminds me of two things
1) of the sea of confusion and irrationality we've returned to in 2021
2) the fact that we have no positive history to look back on other than buck breaking

whatever sorry about this when i lose my shit i get worse than verygayfrogs

Maybe homosexuality is not real. Maybe some people are just brainwashed into becoming homosexual. And other men just say they are homosexual for attention maybe.

Maybe, I think that people's sexuality and identity is complicated. Some people do go through a homosexual phase, while for others it's more or less permanent. We are all brainwashed to a degree. Are you heterosexual? I find that the majority of straight men can't possibly consider having sex with another men.

Most of those "pagans" are /pol/ LARP'ers who misinterpret Tacitus though. Atheists aren't any better towards gays and are on par with the Yahwehists if the communist dictators are anything to go by.

The "muh Tacitus" types are basically crypto-Christians and crypto-atheists who don't like the fact that Jesus was a Jewish criminal and Yahweh is an Israelite deity.

If you read between the lines, the Germanic pagans who killed gays and threw them in bogs didn't execute them for being gay despite what spergs like Varg Vikernes like to say.

They were executed because they bottomed to the thralls. The old pagan societies had less of a "gay versus straight" mindset and more of a "top versus bottom" mentality and a lot of it was tied heavily into one's social class.

The Greco-Roman and Celtic pagans both were openly fine with male homosexuality provided you were a top to someone of a lower social standing. Germanic pagans were cool with it too but more strongly emphasized the class dynamics.

It was taboo for someone to bottom to someone of a lower social class

The modern concept of "gay man bad" is largely derived from the Abrahamic faiths. The only other pagan tradition that had a similar blanket ban on homosexuality were the Egyptians, who had a lot of interaction with the ancient Israelites and vice versa.
From what I am trying to udnerstand here is that the ancient world had no problem with gays...unless you were a rich person who took it in the ass from a poor ..right?

Pretty much, yes.

Well the cock being slammed into another mans anus instead of gently places sure is real enough. Brainwashed or not its real enough when the cock is being slammed into another mans anus

I'm gay. I knew soon as puberty kicked in that I got boners looking at other men naked. My father gave me free access to his Playboy collection as a child. I was somewhat fascinated by naked women...but I recall looking at the men's underwear ads a lot longer than I did the centerfold.

By the time I was 15, I could think nothing else but wanting to suck another guys cock. That's all I could think of... and I did..and really liked it. Boobies and vagiinas did not enter my hormone flooded brain for a second. When I was 30, I broke down and tried having sex with a woman. It was okay..kinda squishy...but eh...but touching another man's naked, exposed skin is still nice.

I"m sure if I replaced the gender, I would be straight. But my bio-chemistry still drives my boner to pop when I see naked men... (not all mind you..but you get the idea)

I believe you can only take another rich guys dick up your ass.. You cannot take a poor persons dick up your ass...no matter how big their dick is

It is not a complicated issue to me. If you do not like gays, then don't be gay. What these people do in the privacy of their own homes is no business of mine and does not hurt me, nor does it hurt anyone else.
I disagree. I think the question of how homosexuality should be socially constructed is a morally complicated issue with pros and cons on both sides.

Historically, milieus in which male/male relationships are normalised tended to maintain some degree of sex apartheid which excluded women from participation. Sex with boys, the most womanish looking males, will obviously be incentivised in groups from which women are so alienated that men simply can't relate to them as equals.

Examples include the Ancient Greeks with pederasty, the Sambia of Papua New Guinea with their elite pederasty cult, the Japanese Samurai and Japanese Buddhist monks (also pederasts), potentially the English public school elite, clandestinely, and Afghan warlords ("Many of the men involved in bacha bazi-related activities are powerful and well-armed warlords").

Homosexuality appears to be an adaptive way of tightly socially bonding men to other men, as well as proteges to mentors. This bond can then be used to advantageously compete with other forms of male co-operation.

Another, separate point:

One of the problems with shaming homophobia is the fact that homophobia sometimes stems, understandably though not justifiably, from the phenomenon of ego-dystonic, closeted LGBS using straight people as unwitting 'beards'. People will say in response: how is this different from infidelity, which straights do frequently? But I think there is an extra layer of deception involved in falsely representing yourself as straight.

But this isn't a problem with LGBs being LGB, it's a problem with LGBs being human.

No Christian denomination, including the ones that consider homosexuality a sin, hold it to be an "unpardonable sin". The vast majority of sins are "pardonable", even rape and murder, inasmuch as you can be forgiven for them and still get to heaven, and that goes for homosexuality as well.

I don't know where you get those numbers from, but they don't really matter at all. Homosexuality is still a sin against God regardless and 70% of the population not caring if someone is gay (assuming that number is correct; for the sake of argument lets say that it is) doesn't change that in the slightest. Also, not caring if someone is gay or not is not the same as saying homosexuality is not a sin, it just means that you don't care personally if someone is gay.
Regardless of wether or not any Christian believes it to be 100% a sin against God - 99% of the ones I know in real life have kept it to themselves. Furthermore, when I ask the gays I know in real life if they have had anyone they know in their lives who have expressed that sentiment openly, directly or indirectly to them... about 90% said no.

While it is a sin and cannot be endorsed that doesn't mean that Christians have to chase them out or that people living in sin being active members of the community is anything new. Being a landwhale is a sin and no one seems to give a shit if fat people have communion despite the fact that it only adds to their astronomical calorie count. You don't actively go around calling every fat person a sinner either so I don't know what you expect.

I'm gay, but I don't openly identify as such unless politely asked, because I honestly believe if I never told anyone, they'd never know. I've always outwardly appeared quite masculine (to gays, I'm a bear) and I keep my gayer interests to conversations with friends and the like.

I also find women sexually gratifying, but (this might sound un-PC) more as objects than as people; I find them attractive and visually appealing, but I could never emotionally relate to a woman. Thus I prefer to identify as gay rather than bisexual.

I've never personally known anyone who was upset when they learned I was gay, though I know how the old norms used to be. At least the religious have a reason (albeit a stupid one) to dislike homosexuals, but I find people who hate persons that engage homosexual activity for no good reason to be a bit contemptuous. It's not like I'm going to perpetuate my man-ass-loving genes to any future children, anyway 🙄

If you boil the frog down to the bone, on it you'll find it written that any sex outside of marriage in Christianity is a sin. But casual gay sex with a dude? That's like some super sin action. Then again, everybody sins and I guess the key here is to fight and reject sin no matter what it is and not to take that shit with a massive grain field of fucking pride like it's a damn virtue. Faggotry has been in human history since the dawn of Steve and yet every normal society always rebounds itself from that shit. I wonder why.
Personally I don't like the gays all that much. But I'm also sure I'd like them a little bit more if the LGBTQ+Pedophiles And Animal Corpse Fuckers Eventually Mark My Word wouldn't have boiled themselves in radical marxism and now demand affection at the pain of getting canceled and are also out to destroy the nuclear family and rebuild some stupid bullshit in its place. Good luck with that shit.
Sometimes you can meet a gay person who knows all this shit and they agree with it. And I say to these gays God bless you, and God help you.
