Not seeing this is part of the spell of liberalism that lets the left manipulate as they please, with hardly any opposition to their subversion. Among a group you can let down this guard, but the distinction must be made between friend and enemy, not merely on race but on spirit and character. Though with a strong culture, where most consciously accept this reality, adapting ideas or processes from potential enemies is less a concern. The left is so sensitive about things like this because they know how fragile global democracy's dam of lies is.

As far as I can tell, factorio uses code from a wrongthinker who's uttered horrific hate speech such as 'liberals are the real fascists' and 'defunding the police is a disastrous idea'. Seriously, if anyone can point me to something controversial he's actually said besides basic conservative takes I'd be glad to see it because it's a little tough for me to grasp that that's seriously it. Someone points this problematic toxicity out to the factorio dev and instead of ignoring them or issuing some halfhearted apology and meaningless promise to do better he lashes back saying it doesn't matter it comes from, it could come from Stalin for all he cares, it's not like it's going to turn people into murderous communists if it did. This in turn causes the myriad commie troons on reddit to completely chimp out. I might be missing something important here but tl;dr a game that naturally attracts the autistic is causing autistic troons to lose their shit.

i remember seeing some talk he gave (might have been some 5 to 10 years ago? not sure anymore) where he lamented how few women are coming to his coding classes and into the programming profession in general, and monologued about what should be done to make it more appealing and welcoming. dude really isn't the kind of woman hating brogrammer they're trying to make him out to be.

Many of the 'women' in programming seem to be troons so he was probably on to something.

Why even say that much? Why just not leave it at “the code is good, that’s all that matters to me (and my team, if they’re comfortable with him speaking for them), if it matters to you on any level deeper than that, that’s on you”?

Engaging with These People to any degree more than is necessary is inevitably a poor choice. It gives them more words to twist and crow about.

Also, biweekly reminder if you are a creator of any kind on the internet to publish your work under anonymity wherever possible for reasons identical to this and many other cases.
