Shearing 200 animals is an involved process, but they have enough hands to get it done in a day or two on their own, no need for a volunteer army. They're just lazy fucks. I'm just curious how many injuries they'll be facing, with an army of inexperienced, incapable tourist-troons trying to handle animals that tend to be uncooperative. Alpaca's might be fairly chill, but no animal likes being tied out and laid on its back while power tools work over its body. Someones gonna take a hoof to the face.

non-profits hire and pay people all the time.

they did it cause they are assholes who like to exploit people.

Non-profits usually pay their staff crazy high salaries, it’s almost always a grift that way. I’m wondering whether they will have to disclose their spendings. Maybe Amhole gets a salary for repelling Earl by smell.

They should at least give their fictitious volunteers some decent food and accommodation, but they don’t even have that themselves. Dumb frat boys in adult male bodies.

I'm not 100% sure all their visitors will be helping shear, actually.

It sort of implies that you can just come for the "shearing celebration", plus they also mentioned their "shearer" being late

which makes sense if they've got a bunch of inexperienced visitors with the physique of Kevin. Possibly they just literally mean their shearing equipment if they're renting it, but it does come across like they got a giant circus tent for "shearapalooza" and they're offering alpaca shearing as a novelty petting zoo type experience.
I guess that it's somewhat at odds with their usual grift to just have a free party, though. On the other hand, if they're getting filmed again they might want to play up that "trans safe haven" angle and show off some (shitty) hospitality for the grift.

And all those google views will bring them here, so that people can see what they're actually like.
Except that this page is halfway down the 4th page (when I Googled Incognito). Tenacious Unicorn Ranch kiwifarms was the first related search, so that's nice, but they're more likely to go through the 3 pages of glowup about the "anarchist trans commune" or the "trans and queer haven".

I don't know much about Search Engine Optimisation, but this thread could use more of it.

Holding an event that requires travel in the middle of the week with very little notice. Good thing someone willing to show won't be hindered by work. The tranch really knows how to hit their target audience.

Call me stupid, but I don’t think they legally can pay the volunteers, due to their non profit status.

In my part of the Europes, nonprofits can certainly hire paid staff. However, then they also have to pay the employer's part of social insurance and arrange for liability insurance, take care of working time and security laws, the works.

If someone volunteers they cannot be paid more than a reasonable compensation for expenses. The volunteer xirself is normally responsible for insurance. Until recently, if a volunteer got mauled by your alpacas, the former would have had no recourse but his own insurance, since he explicitly volunteered to sit on the poor animal to shave it. (Since a few years, employers can arrange insurance for volunteer workforce but I'm not sure that goes for all of the EU).

I'm not sure the US/CO is that strict but the Ranchists are obviously going the cheapest route.

I am worried about the probable food poisoning that is going to happen with how unsanitary they seem to be

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Tranch somewhere out in the boonies? Who are they even targetting with this? The neighbours, who they went out of their way to piss off? The local county folks, whom they insulted? How many people are going to like, drive an hour (maybe more) to some notorious ranch just to """help""" shear alpacas? Isn't it just easier to head to a proper alpaca farm instead?

People who want to fuck alpacas and people who like a good freakshow.

On a serious note, I am really impressed by the amount of exposure from mainstream media the Tenacious Unicorn Ranch is receiving. Today Show is kinda huge, right? And the Al Jazeera video has gotten 17,000 views in a 5 day time.
Fine by me. The more the fake news glowingly covers these violent, insane freak cultists, the more embarrassing it will be when they inevitably murder someone, each other, or get caught molesting children.

I hope Null can replace all instances of the term "Tranch" with Tenacious Unicorn Ranch, so it totally won't mess with the google results for Tenacious Unicorn Ranch when you search for Tenacious Unicorn ranch to learn more about the Tenacious Unicorn Ranch
