I think it's absolutely hilarious how Russ has always referred to the Hof's token as a "rare coin" even on the day he got it. What on Earth gave him the idea that it's so rare when Hof literally hands them out to customers? Even if they were only handed out to a few select "special" customers it wouldn't rise to the level of "rare coin". He's so uncultured and unaware of the world around him...it continuously blows my mind.

And yes, the book is without a doubt Hof's autographed book. When Russ first mentioned the "rare coin", he said Hof gave him a signed book along with it. I wonder if he's actually trying to sell these items, or if he just thinks that everyone who goes into the store gets to be on TV?

Rarity in this case probably means that he's the only person he knows that has one. And since he believes that he's somehow special that makes the coin special.

And yes he thinks that anybody who goes to that Pawn Stars place gets on TV. If you've ever actually been inside it it's less a pawn shop than a place where people can buy merch from the show. They do buy stuff but from what I hear at least half the people that show up and get on camera have already committed to sell it, reached a deal and they're offered a chance to so do on camera as if they just walked in. That and the actual place where they film the deals is done on a set, not on the actual floor of the pawn shop.

It's all bullshit when you get down to it.

The fact he thinks he was friends with Dennis Hof when anyone else can tell that Hof was just being cordial to a customer is instructive. He misinterprets normal social interactions as close friendships. That would explain why he was so pissed when Erika told him to go away. That also explains why he was pissed at Chad, he was getting in the way of him wooing Erika who was obviously into him or else why would she be talking to him? I’ll find the screencap later. It’s so cringey because we all know his “girlfriend” was likely just some poor thot who replied to one of his comments not knowing the horrors that would ensue. Yeah, Erika never said she modeled. She's attractive, and has an instagram so she must be a model! He also thinks model = prostitutes. Remember when one lingerie model had NO ESCORT on her profile and Russ was genuinely confused? He also got confused when he offered money for a "date" to another Insta model and didn't grasp why she got upset with him. His view of the world is very distorted, and had he been court ordered into therapy(he wasn't), one of the big things to overcome would be how he views all relationships as transactional.

He made several posts about how sad he was about their "breakup" and that he hopes they can get back together. In reality she was not his girlfriend and they did not break up. His hour simply ran out.

These old posts have really got me nostalgic for the good ol' days where Russ overshared every delusional detail.
