He's an infuriating dick, but his lolcow status mostly comes from how pathetic he is. He tried sucking up to Brianna Wu, and the only response he got from her was that she didn't like his comic because it didn't fit into her SJW agenda. His roommate that he poked fun of in his comic also has a more successful career as an animator, so there's that.

RE: Art. There's some things that, if it was just some average DA artist, would be considered good. This would also go under the presumption that average DA artist would be finding ways to improve on their stuff, so while there would be problems (big ones) they would work out some kinks and maybe with a lot of work could become a professional in a few years.

But Dobby? This is as good as he'll get, ever. And it's 100% his fault for it. He won't improve, this is as good as he'll get. On top of that I've noticed a lot of people are much more willing to rip into an artist if they're a total cockhead. And he is. On top of that, his art carries a subtle (yet repugnant) air of smug and ugly, I call it "Smugly". Again, if this was a decent, learning artist would probably be able to work past that and learn how to carry some basic appeal. He won't.

Also worth remembering that this guy went to college, the same department that got at least one other fellow a job at Disney so it's not like it was a totally crap college.

Basically a lot of artists may not be great but they have potential. This is as good as Dobson will ever get. And honestly in a lot of ways he's just getting worse than before. And he's a cockhead.

Yeah, he depicted her as a cute cosplayer girl with pink hair, and instead of chimping out and yelling at her or trying to say something he thinks is witty, he just gave her visably nervous replies while she scowled at him. Whoever said he has a fetish for being treated like a doormat by women pretty much hit the nail on the head I think

I dunno spongebob squarepants has been around since I was in 7th grade so that's like damn near 20 years and it never improved and people still worship it

The worst episode of Spongebob is still funnier than the best comic of Dobson.

You're confusing art, design and planning here.

ADF did web design, it provides an explination of color theory and programs used for web site creation. It does not teach a person to draw or how to mix colors in a way that is pleasing.

Chris did ACAD, it provides the knowledge to take someone elses design and render it into a blueprint. It teaches nothing about color theory or drawing.

Dobs did a BoA in Animation, it provides large amounts of studio time, live models, knowledge in animation, character design and color theory as well as select animation focused skills.

You honestly can't compare them. Dobs, if his art school was like mine, would have 2-4 days a week of 10 hours just focused on drawing and projects. Not understanding the differences is understandable to those who don't work in those fields, but it's honestly like comparing elementary school math to university algerbra as far as content an depth of "art" learned.

But with Dobs it's not even about how bad he is given his education, it's his attitude. I'd suggest you look over the encyclopedia dramatica page on him.

From what I read on ED, people were using that "draw on a website" program to draw all kinds of troll art and messages all over Dobby's DA pages and ED article(you can only see the drawings if you have the program). Apparently there was a giraffe drawn a lot that became something off an unofficial mascot for them. Dobby found out about the program and used it to erase every single image on all his pages. People trolled him back by saying he murdered the giraffe.

My recollection of the article is a bit vague, but that's about the gist of it.

The Giraffe Incident

At the end of November 2013, a lonely artistic soul on Encyclopedia Dramatica discovered a Java tool called Goggles, which allows you to scribble on all non-SSL secured websites. The drawings and notes can only be seen when one activates the tool itself, so it is actually invisible to non-users.

For the first few days, ED users doodled on Dobson's DeviantArt page, creating hate speech, cool drawings, commentaries and one-sided lulz. This all changed though, when Lord Prestone looked beyond his valley into the mighty EDF forums and saw those drawings in the Tom Preston thread. Immediately he grabbed himself a copy of the program and started BALEETING everything systematically. Yes, he went through all his comics, ALL his comics and subpages and erased every single drawing. During this art holocaust, he killed a giraffe drawing that everyone at EDF cherished for some odd reason; this caused the beginning of one of the greatest shitstorms Dobson has ever started.

EDF reacted with a sudden counter-offensive and drew much more hateful stuff, calling Dobson a "Giraffe murderer" and "Art killer". One should know that every single drawing on his pages looked more inspiring than anything Dobson ever made in Photoshop. This went on and on until Dobbles actually went on the front page and wrote in autistic looking letters: "LEAVE ME ALONE!". He actually spent the entire night (over 10 hours) erasing invisible drawings on his page. Soon his first white knights came in and started erasing mercilessly; most of them were Bronies. It was at this point that nobody could guess anymore if Dobson was actively partaking in this genocide. But that didn't matter later on. Why? Because Dobson actually told his white knights on DA to destroy the drawings every week, completely contradicting his previous statement that he "doesn't care".

The continued destruction of art made Ediots rage so hard, that they actually called in the cavalry for reinforcements. People from /co/ didn't seem to be interested at first, but the more giraffes and drawings were killed, they started to grow a heart and actively intervented. 4chan also seemed to have adopted the Giraffe for a short amount of time. It was the first ever joint-strike force of ED users and 4channers in a long time; unfortunately nobody on /co/ ever knew who actually alerted them. The users of /co/ also hailed Goggles as the greatest webpage drawing tool ever invented. From this point on Dobson's DeviantArt page is a constant warzone between drawfags and white knights.
