I suspect I’m asking something obvious, but does anyone know the current status of Klein’s relationship with PewdiePie? Last I noticed, Ethan threw PP under the bus for his use of the N word; Someone a few pages prior in this thread raised a roll call of all former YouTuber relationships which had gone South (usually due to Ethan’s insidious shit) and was curious about this one.

Their status is "if he can get something from pewdiepie in the future, then Ethan will act like the gamer word moment is just old drama that doesn't matter anymore."
Jon survived getting cancelled and is still hugely popular, so it benefited Ethan to "make up" with him. So he did. If Jon's career was ended over that immigration debate, Ethan would be calling him a racist to this day and would want nothing to do with him.

Same with Pewdiepie. It's all fake.

On the other hand, after the gamer word podcast, Ethan and Hila weren't invited to Felix's wedding (Ethan did a "reacts" video to the wedding photo and basically just sucks his dick and zooms in on the size of Marisa's diamond). Ethan complained Felix made him look bad in a clip about Better Health sponsorships, and Felix agreed to go on the podcast twice since then (although he cancelled both times).
I think it's safe to say that if "Pewdiepie" can get something beneficial out of a collab with "H3H3", then there'll be one - but it looks like Felix is not interested in being friends with Ethan, and Ethan even hesitates to call him a friend.

Does Ethan even have friends at this point?
Seems like anyone he used to pal around with have either cut ties with him because he threw them under the bus, or they just got sick of him using them for clout.
I think The Cuckaroo Buckaroo Idubbz is, because Ethan defended him against the evil incels when his gf embarrassed him. If they’re genuinely friends as opposed to allies, idk.

Ethans Podcast is hosting a „Roast“ of himself to celebrate his birthday. Funnily enough, they had to shop in his suit hahaha

I can’t wait to see the thumbnail for 2022‘s roast when he’s even more bloated

Now, will he only invite whatever "friends" he has left to lightly throw some jabs, or will he invite people he's fucked over to really get roasted? Imagine if like, Bill Burr, Keemstar, Leafy, and Gokanaru show up. That would be worth tuning in for

I really hope someone replicates his bait-and-switch by bringing in Keemstar unannounced for what Ethan thinks is going to be a softball interview.

Invite Sam Hyde so he can shoot the place up and bless us all from having to see Ethan's gross body anymore.

„Hey Ethan, seems like your weight is going out of control. See, we have some camps that can help you to concentrate more on improving yourself. Don’t forget to take some deep breaths in the shower after an exhausting but fulfilling day“

The stream is already on Youtube. The roast is his production crew, his parents, Hila, Gus Johnson (youtuber), Alex Hirsch (the guy who made Gravity Falls, who roasts him via a puppet of one of the characters), VSauce, Videogamedunkey, Steve-O, D'Angelo Wallis (who does a song), Eric from Internet Comment Ettiquette, iDubbz (whose camera cut off part way through recording and he sent it in anyway), Philip DeFranco, Logic/Bobbysworld, Oliver Tree, "Jimmy Lee, The Jersey Outlaw" and a guy pretending to be Steven Crowder. So a few "literally who" but a few big names. From the bits I saw it was pretty mediocre, and it's awkward at the end because all the guests were video submissions so he can't banter or say anything beyond "I hope everyone had a great time tonight, that was really great, we had some great names".

The roast doesn't start for an hour and 10 minutes. I skipped around on 1.5x and it was unwatchable, but anyway Ethan complains that saying he's close with Susan Wojcicki is "advanced racism", and she just came to the podcast studio to hang out and he told her he thought it was bunk that his adult-themed videos get demonetised when South Park on Comedy Central gets all the big advertisers.

He does a react video to a Crowder compilation and complains his jokes are unfunny (ironic). He criticises Crowder for being homophobic because Crowder says "I don't know if I'd rather watch 2 hours of (H3H3) or 2 hours of the San Francisco Gay Chorus. The gay chorus would probably be straighter. I'd rather pay for front row Nickleback seats". Ethan then mocks Crowder and suggests Crowder's probably sucked dick. Ethan then had to find out what the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus is (which is incredibly famous) and goes "Why does he know about that? Why does he have that in his back pocket? The guy is flaming. Steven is fantasising about getting front row seats to that". One of the production crew speculates that Crowder likes dressing up and being theatrical and so it isn't surprising that he's familiar with a bunch of gay dudes, because that's gay. Ethan goes "Well I don't want to out him. He's in the closet, it's not my place to kick him out" and then makes a joke about Crowder needing to go into closet to pick out his outfits (it's worth noting that Ethan is wearing a sequin jacket, a red ruffled shirt and a crown while saying this).

This is what pissed me off with Ethan re: Trisha or Pewdiepie as well. Ethan pretends to be a moralising good guy, but he's just as much garbage as the people he complains about. If Ethan, in response to Crowder calling his show gay, had just started making jokes about Crowder being a closet homo, that could have been kinda funny. Instead he calls Crowder homophobic and then makes a bunch of homophobic jokes, completely undermining his point.

That's normal for lefty commentators. They think clutching their pearls about homophobia then going on to make homophobic jokes is somehow edgy or original.

tl;dw on "Families":

It seems like Ethan's parents might actually be the permanent cohosts of this new podcast series, but Ethan's Mum is in the hot seat this episode. Ethan mentions that the audience warmed to her when she phoned in a while back, and then awkwardly tries to explain what "boomer" means. Then he plugs his shitty clothing brand, and brings his Dad out as well to show off some more outfits (his Dad has just had a new shoulder installed). He makes a penis joke about his Mum's microphone, and then cracks some more jokes about his non functional penis. His Mum laughs it off. His Mum talks about Father's Day, and relates an anecdote about Ethan as a little boy (when she was trying to get a picture of him and his siblings, he pulled his pants down and spread his cheeks to show off his butthole, ruining the picture) and relates how Ethan's son has his naughty sense of humour.

They then play a segment called "How Well Do You Know Your Son". Ethan makes a joke about how he talks about her in therapy. She gets a bunch of questions right and relates some nice stories and gushes over him. Ethan reveals to her that he smoked crack one time (she seems taken aback and he clarifies he "just hit it lightly"). Ethan's Mum said "we never smoked anything like that" and then Ethan's Dad reveals he smoked crack one time while they were separated, and she seems slightly taken aback again. She says she tried LSD and cocaine when she was a young student (she doesn't like doing drugs), and mentions she watched something about Cary Grant taking LSD for therapy (Ethan does not know who Cary Grant is, and when it's mentioned he was an actor in Hitchcock films, Ethan says that's "boomer"). She mentions experiencing an acid flashback and tells the production crew "this is a good reason not to do this". Ethan explains a story to her when he shit himself as an adult.

He then asks her questions about himself. She mentions how Ethan stole money off her when he was a kid, and she would have just given him money if he'd asked, and he stole his Dad's Playboy magazine and kept phoning the number for a chatline and racked up a phone bill of $800. Ethan brings up that she slapped him one time because he called her a "b-word", and then guilt trips her for not being home enough because she was working. He gives her grief for not taking his YouTube career seriously when he started out, and she said she'd just wanted him to have a fall back career and not do YouTube full time. She admits being embarrassed by Ethan's "shake that dick" video (Ethan acknowledges Hila's Dad "disowned me, pretty much" after he saw it). Ethan's Mum talks about how he and his siblings were all very intelligent, and then Ethan complains that he was held back in Kindergarden and she made a bad call (she defends herself and says it was because the kindergarden teacher was concerned about how immature he was, and wanted to make sure he'd develop properly). She talks about being amazed by his artistic abilities as a kid, and he complains she threw out all the art he'd made in high school (it got lost in a house move). Ethan talks about masturbating as a child. His Mum rambles on about how after Ethan's elder sister left it was a house of all boys, and Ethan rolls his eyes and says "pretty interesting".

That's the half way mark. Ethan's Mum seems like a nice lady, and if I met her as a friend's parent I would enjoy talking to her. But it alternates between being dull and being awkward because Ethan's trying to get a reaction out of her. He comes across as pretty unlikeable while she comes across as being a really loving and supportive Mum.

I hope someone manages to watch the rest and it gives us something else to talk about besides Seder/Crowder. Neither of them are lolcows, they're just dull.
I also only got about halfway through. I always wondered what went wrong with Ethan since his parents seemed like relatively well adjusted, height-weight-proportionate people but I think this gave some insight. They were probably too nice/lenient and never corrected him when he was being a little asshole. Maybe he also got lucky and managed not to catch an ass beating in school so he just never learned?

Or he got too much ass beating in school and none at home, and now his ass hurts in all the wrong places.
