I must ask as a fan of emulations
who is this guy? I never heard of him OR even his emulators. like when you are looking for emu's you would see them but those names dont ring a bell
He's infamous in emulator dev for his uncompromising approaches and technical awareness. BSNES is his best known product. Ares and Higan are two others, but the names are less known. BSNES was the first "really-good" SNES emulator. ZSNES and Snes9x are both good, but have weird hacks. BSNES was notable for requiring high-end Intel CPUs when it was first released, making it impractical when it was released, and it languished in unpopularity for years.

"I thought it only fair to at least read the responses. To tell you the truth, I was expecting the complete opposite reaction. I've been humbled and pleasantly surprised, thank you. I feel like I understand your perspectives better now, than through only being an outside observer. Apologies for the misconceptions I held about this place."

So ... what changed?
His "friends" continued to poison his mind with bullshit, I wager.

We might not know for weeks, when neighbors start complaining about the smell of decomposition.
He's in japan, so chances are he did the rorochan challenge

If he even did it in the first place. From what I can understand this is not the first suicide bait he's done.

Would not call alpine linux a "bigboy corpo™". As to why "bigboy corpos™" use cisco's - that's because they have used them for decades or even more - there's no incentive to switch or to somehow replace them - there is no actual benefit to it and only generates unnecessary downtime.

Most startups that I am aware of use either MikroTik's or Junipers (I have no idea why, seriously). There are companies that try to imitate bigboys by using cisco's, although.

tl;dr Juniper is getting close to Cisco's SLA for a fraction of the cost. They don't have (or at least didn't have last time I was caring) anything up in the bigdick nexus teirs. Juniper also speaks politely to cisco IIRC.

Lots of startups also use the 3rd parties that put custom firmware on end-of-life Cisco silicon for the same reason*; if you are a start up and you haven't run up a ~$20 million outage, you wonder "why the fuck am I grabbing my ankles for Cisco?". Again, the value add from Cisco is that I call Cisco and (once I finally speak to a human who is capable of listening to my problem) I can get a part to anywhere in the world in 4 hours, or I can also access Cisco's big pool of engineers and architects to help me fix my shit.

I am not Cisco simp. The question was why do people bother with Cisco being that the markup is fucking nuts. I'm just telling you straight facts; you build a support network that gets me a replacement router to Deep Dark Asshole, Arkansas in 4 hours or less and lets me rent a top-tier BGP mutant for $50,000 but gets my network sorted in 5 minutes of contractor access getting sorted, and you can destroy Cisco. The prohibitive cost of doing that keeps Cisco as #1.

*(ok, some of them are also buying that so they can reflash with down-level verisons of cisco IOS)

According to the Reddit moderator of the /r/emulation subreddit the 41% has been confirmed by others who knew Byuu (so other programming socks trannies).

Looks like this is real. but 12 months old, keep scrolling farmers. Wait… is it? I think “11m” is 11 minutes

nope. It’s 11 months. Keep scrolling, farmers. However, I guess this is proof Near has faked his shit in the past.
Reddit is so fucking bad holy shit, what kind of a retard UX designer puts "m" in a timestamp??

Small aside, but I see this shitty petition getting spammed, and I gotta ask, what the fuck is even the point of this thing? Lmao, aside from it being a huge ego-indulgence virtue signal farm circle jerk, ofc.

He's the author of Higan/bSNES, arguably the most accurate SNES emulator if you're autistic and have a raging need to play Air Strike Patrol or that shitty Speedy Gonzalez game with the weird button puzzle.

Otherwise, you're not missing much. Stick with SNES9X if you want reasonable accuracy and accessibility, or ZSNES if you're a hipster faggot, still gaming on a literal potato, or just want to spite Byuu.
