Be aware that people claiming to be doing XYZ on Twitter are usually just out for attention. There's literally like 10+ people taking credit for the attack.
Your telling me these people are attention seeking wholes. I'm so shocked 😲. But seriously that's funny that we don't know who did this just because different LoLcows are trying to taking credit

And look at our enemies.
There's literally like 10+ people taking credit for the attack.
Words on the internet = attack. They think they're being attacked when we say spicy things and they think they're attacking us with useless hashtags. Oh Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.

I might be out of the loop as far as the dox goes, but if it hasn't been attempted, I think it'd be good to do an in-thread round-table on what we know. Afaik (the thread moves fast, even during a DoS) we have his name (David Ginder), a prior address, spouse, wedding photos, vague stuff in a pastebin, and some other possible photos of him. We still don't know much about his location or work in japan, and confirming/deboonking his death seems to be difficult regardless due to not being able to just call a jp police office and ask if the dude killed himself.

Also, about that pastebin, it brought up his irs trouble, and went a step further and implied he was being looked into. Someone else brought up that he was eager to get his no-momentum thread nuked from orbit, including using extortion. Could this be a bizarre, idiotic attempt to not only rally people against the site, but also try to dupe the irs? The story his buddy told was such an asspull, and byuu made two llc's due to tax concerns (afaik), could ducking the taxman be a motive?

Pretty sure their not using stormkit as its a bitch to set up and maintain. Theyre using aio providers. i averaged the cost of the providers i know and its about 0.07163usd. Im too retarded to go over the entire thread but does somebody know if we have a rough estimate of the attack power? we could calculate their burnrate with that.
It's about 300Mbps, but a crafted attack that causes the Mikrotik's 16 CPUs to slam 100%. I've updated the firmware and added some rules which seem to be working. I think they're just directly targeting the gateway/intertie.

Do we actually have any clue on who or what is trying to DDoS Josh's servers? The a-log people on twitter were talking about contacting Cloudflare to stop their services but that's as far I know on this aspect of the Byuu fiasco.

Okay, I've always thought we took the David Attenborough approach to lolcows, viewing them in their natural habitat, and I know trolling and alogging discussions are banned so the twitards outrage is uninformed and idiotic. Can I ask why some threads have the lolcows real life addresses posted in them though? Because that's the one thing I think goes too far.
People generally don't post things which they consider to be shameful. Consequently a big component of threads is finding avenues to learn things about people that they don't intentionally post in their curated, pseudonymous online persona. These might the social media accounts of friends and family, old accounts the cow forgot about, accounts they believe to be private or unconnected to their main identity, public records, direct correspondence with people who know them in real life, and any of these might yield a dox. It's rarely a case of some bug eyed sweaty creep obsessively digging until they find the address and posting it to the farms gurgling "This'll really hurt him', rather it's one node in a network of data points that get uncovered and there's no reason to redact it, or often it's impossible to do so. What are you going to do, say you verified his real name via linkedin but please don't look at the linkedin page because it has his address?

Further, an address is frequently part of the comedy. I got into the farms through the Jake Alley thread, where pretty much the whole joke is comparing the things he says about himself to the reality. "Huge man with a viking warrior build" (morbidly obese) "Transitioned to a dainty gymnast woman" (shaved his beard poorly, still morbidly obese) "lived with an abuser for years" (it was his mother) "struggling to make enough to eat" (his mom drives to his new house to bring him groceries). Without access to his real identity there basically wouldn't be a thread. "I bet he's a loser but I have no way of knowing" doesn't pack the same punch you know?
