If Byuu worked at Cyber Gadget Corporation (which we only have as a potential lead because someone signed up with the name of someone linked to that company), it would make sense. Byuu claimed to be reverse engineering hardware, and they sell video game peripherals, so it would actually make sense for them to poach him. He also claimed to live in Arakawa, so he'd have a half hour commute from there to Sotokanda in Chiyoda if he got the metro.

Cyber Gadget Corporation is listed as only having 23 employees, so even if Byuu largely worked from home they'd all know him. The CEO is Takaaki Kato/加藤 貴章. Finding some other employees might lead to someone who knows if Byuu is dead and they may have posted about it on socials. Their name in Japanese is 株式会社サイバーガジェット. I'll try and do some digging.
I'm going to laugh my ass off if Wayne nutting up and trying to waggle his finger at us is what finally gets us confirmed dox on Byuu.

I'll just quickly mention that if this lead is accurate then Byuu would have to be working at Cyber Gadget Corporation, not Datel, because

On March 6, 2015, it was announced that Datel Japan will be closed on March 31, 2015 due to the withdrawal of Datel from Japan . Support for Datel Japan products was taken over by Play Arts Co., Ltd. , which also ended on March 31, 2016
Google translate and the Wikipedia article are a bit fucky. It seems that 株式会社プレイアーツ/Play Arts Co., Ltd ended support for products from Datel, but actually they persisted and were only dissolved in April 2018. In that scenario Cyber Gadget Corporation may have needed to hire a hardware developer, and 2018 is when the trail on David goes dead (seemingly after having to sell their property after an IRS tax audit and ensuing marriage breakdown) and Byuu claimed to have moved to Japan (for him to have been working there for three years).

It may be possible to find employees through their official Twitter account, but I can't go digging through the followers myself as I don't have an account.

Seems like a long shot to me. If he's really working in Japan, then this whole suicide fakery just seems like it would make life way too complicated for him. I know people aren't perfectly rational actors, especially troons, but surely he would realize that this could bring his life crashing down if it got back to his real identity.

I'd say its probably more like Wayne got him for Retrofreak (released in 2016) due to his SNES knowledge, how could he not accept a gig smack in the middle of Akihabara?

lol yeah who was suggesting he worked at datel? the only mentions of them were wayne being from datel.

i would still say this is just one lead of many and its always possible it's a ruse intentionally so we don't see these losers' real info. but it is juicy, and i hope it's true because cybergadget fucked me over at the start of covid on a soytendo grip and i'm still mad_at_the_internet.png

Is it relevant that Marcan was previously experimenting with Denial of Service scripts?

Its basically modified SlowLoris

And I don't see this on his GitHub.
Im retarded

Heres the original paste (outside of IntelX. Notice, he's posted as a guest

Edit: Theres more than one version of the paste. For example, his target audience is so fucking dumb that he has to tell them to NOT use their own IP as source

So here's another paste that is nearly identical, within a few days of the original, with the added note

Im starting to get some ideas here...

I think Near went to Marcan to concoct this idea because he was probably the only he knew that was familiar with Denial of Service. Marcan publishes the letter from a "concerned" third party and edits it 3 hours after publication. This pattern of posting first and then having to make additions is present in his pastes on this stupid DoS method.

So I think Marcan may be involved in the DoS itself. Likely not one he wrote/made. What he made was shit. But he would be the one to know which program they could rent to deliver decent results.

Either way, it makes sense for Marcan to be directly linked to the attack on the site as well. That makes sense even if Near is alive or dead.
Pastebin has a habit of deleting things so here's the archives.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if Wayne nutting up and trying to waggle his finger at us is what finally gets us confirmed dox on Byuu.
This whole shitstorm has gone from annoying to funny to sad and pathetic in very rapid fashion
1. Byuu's thread was small and basically inert. No dox present. Little interest. Even after CIA Nigger decided to be a turbosped and delete it, it garnered little interest because CIA Nigger turned out to be more of a laughingstock, which isn't saying much but point still stands.
2. Attempting to extort/blackmail someone with suicide threats is incredibly shitty. We're talking "horrid little heartstring-pulling sociopath" shitty. Attempting to extort/blackmail someone with suicide threats over a thread on the Internet poking fun at your foibles makes that shitty and impressively fucking retarded.
3. This entire dramastorm is EXTREMELY counterproductive if Byuu had any intention whatsoever of "reinventing" himself as a programmer working for a Japanese company. As in, I could see it resulting in Byuu not being able to work there at all. I doubt Japanese employers take any less dim a view of walking drama bombs who make spectacles of themselves on public venues.

So to recap, Byuu gets laughed at briefly on the Internet (the HORROR) and for some reason a long time after the fact decides that not being taken SUPER SERIOUSLY ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE TIME BY ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE is something that merits attempted emotional blackmail/extortion in order to make the little thread where he got laughed at go away. And he did this to a man who absolutely WILL NOT have any of that shit.

They suck so much at lying. Per Marcan, the police confirmed the suicide last week. Per Wayne, the police found the body like yesterday.

Both cannot be true. In this instance both are most likely a lie.
what if it really is wayne and he just hates byuu so much he wanted to come here and wreck the whole plan

I said it before in this thread, I will say it one more last time. Byuu worked for us. Someone forwarded the posts online to us. People in the Tokyo office went to check on him, after the police broke in, they found him dead, Had hung himself. If it is a lie, he is a fucking good actor! Pretending to be dead for over a week now. I have had the dubious pleasure of speaking to his loved ones!! This is my real name, no aliases. He specifically stated Kiwifarms in his suicide note. Much of the blame, if not all of it, lies squarely here!
What's his full name, then?

Who "forwarded the posts"?

Who was the person who listened to the "suicide" for more than half an hour, but never called emergency services?

Woke folk have no idea how to construct a convincing lie.

What tip me off is the only websites reporting it are citing Kotaku's only source. A tweet.

A. Bloody. Fucking. Tweet.

I mean, I always thought about "gaming journalism" as serious as sport press but come the fuck on. No reporters to investigate? Interviewing? Asking question to Japanese authorities? Is the emulator community big enough to be clickbait target? If this guy can die without his relatives know about, he was anonynous enough to pass under cyberbullying radar, thus, no need to kill himself.

I understand from the drama that the selling point is: Kiwi Farm, full of big meanies poopoo heads bullies who harrass innocents trans people. That's the perfect story. An innocent. Bag guys. What people wants is feeling like heroes and signal their virtue by taking a STRONG stance against the evil.

Who gives a shit about a retired anonymous author, anyway?

Hands down, Brennan. Haber's shit is old and barely anyone remembers where Metokur's moniker is coming from. Brennan still was here in 2020, while already dancing on 8chan's grave and now he claims that this place is as bad. He is also ready to buy this suicide bullshit just to show how much of a changed half-man he is.
He should troon out, kill himself, anid blame us. He's already furfagging it up and it's not like he has long to live anyway. And then we'd have a subhuman midget on our kill list.

The Japanese are immensely private. Even about death. Normal people don't even get obituaries in newspapers like other countries in the world. You have to have managed to get to some sort level of public persona and fame to actually get one. Confirmations of death can normally be found through hospitals, autopsies, funeral homes/ where they are cremated,

So "just search obituaries in japan noobs!" simply won¨t work. Even if you try to get a hold of confirmation of death through other means, that can take weeks or you will not get it at all because you are not a direct relative. For a guy, if you really are Wayne, who lived in Tokyo, you sure as hell did not interact with the culture surrounding you.

All companies, when you get hired, have you give up a "emergency contact" . If anything goes to hell, that is who they contact. Normally it is HR who is left with that duty of contacting the person listed. Occasionally the person directly in charge of the other, which depends a bit on company size.
