Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

I even have consulted two of my doctors about it, and I've been advised to not get the jabs (at least not yet). I tell people this, and I still get pressure from them to get vaccinated; in fact, they act even worse after I tell them because they assume that I'm lying or some shit.
If you take medical advice from anyone who isn't a doctor you're a straight up retard.

Yes, that's what I've been saying this entire time. Consult your doctor first if you have plans to get vaccinated.

Tons of people are getting vaccinated solely because of the peer pressure that they're getting, and it's definitely a problem. And the ones who are pressuring others into getting the jab(s) no matter what are detestable people.

just got my 2nd dose, I wasn't allowed to choose my vaccine and daddy trudeau made us dosemix. After dose 1 of pfizer I actually felt unusually good but my 2nd dose is moderna and I feel like I've been hit by an 18 wheeler that's 6 hours behind schedule.

Still worth it though. Can't wait to watch antivaxxers become 2nd class citizens because of their own hubris.
Go fuck yourself.... oh wait you already did. I won't shed a tear when you are sick and dying from these "vaccines". You Branch Covidians are a bunch of cowardly bootlickers. P.S: the unvaccinated are already second class citizens. This is illegal and descrimitory, not that a bigot like you would care.

I've been pressured by a handful of people to get the vaccine. Literally none of those people have told me, "Well, talk to your doctor about it to put your concerns to rest." All of them have told me to "just get it."

The peer pressure that people are experiencing are coming from anything but a reasonable or a remotely understanding/not condescending place. People need to stop pretending otherwise, for crying out loud.
For those of us who don't exactly have a clean bill of health, that's what we all did. People with complex medical cases don't have the luxury of succumbing to peer pressure. And the overwhelming response I got from doctors was that anyone with shitty health are the people who benefit the most from the vaccine. In a country with socialized healthcare, vaccine uptake can be the difference between a complete collapse in healthcare and continuing as normal. Not saying it's a good or a bad thing, but simply how it is.

I'd say consult your doctor before deciding to get or not get the vaccine and do what they suggest. This doesn't only apply to people who want the vaccine. Doctors are the ones who went to medical school

The antivax tards you claim of are not the people in question. That vocal minority is clearly pretty crazy but the group I'm talking about is the one that is skeptical of the recent covid specific vaccines. The overlap between the two groups is logically expected and the constant dismissal of that obvious distinction between the two is just ignorant, but that's expected from the likes of the Trust The Science group. There is no reason to take responsibility for the obvious antivax crazies or associate them with people who have genuine concerns over the vaccine and all that surrounds it. It's not like non Christians bash or harangue any Christian they might meet because of a few fringe radicals in the past like Westboro Baptist Church or David Koresh and his Branch Davidians.
Uh huh. The ones who also claim mRNA are dangerous and change your DNA and that vaccines are using new technology (only the mRNA ones, there's other types out there) are nearly as retarded as those people.

Don't you know? Every single person who opts not to get the vaccine MUST be doing it because they believe Bill Gates put micro-chips in it!

sarcasm
So what's your reasoning for not getting it then?

My in-laws are in their 80's and were told by their doctor not to get it. They don't freak out over masks either and go to church every Sunday. Clown world.

Doctors are the ones who went to medical school
They sure did.

1) I already had COVID and it was pretty much nothing. I'm young and I'm healthy, so I don't need it.
2) I only bother with vaccines for shit that might off me (e.g. Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hep B, and hopefully rabies soon)
3) I haven't been forced to get it for work or travel so IDK
4) I haven't seen one coherent logical argument of why an individual in my position should get it
5) It makes bugmen Decent Human Beings (TM) who live in a hivemind Society (TM) mad and upset

EDIT: +6) As someone who was already asymptomatic, the vaccine would only be redundant compared to natural immunity

So you don't care about herd immunity and being another potential reservoir for a new variant to evolve?
5) It makes bugmen Decent Human Beings (TM) who live in a hivemind Society (TM) mad and upset
That's a weapons-grade retarded reason. People tell me to not press my ass up against them and fart on them, so I guess I better start farting on them because it makes them upset. They also don't want me going to the grocery store and hocking loogies on all the produce. I guess I better do that, too

No.
This is like the 3rd time I've told you I don't need herd immunity for a virus that doesn't affect me
Herd immunity is not about affecting you.
Not how evolution works.
It sure does. The more hosts, the more chances to evolve.

Still pretending to be a biologist? A biologist should know these things. Either you're dangerously unqualified or lying

I don't care.
It sure does. The more hosts, the more chances to evolve.
The more exposure to a stressor, the more selection towards lineages which can overcome/adapt to the stressor.
Evolution 101.

If evolution worked like you think it works, then Gartersnakes in the range of highly toxic Rough-Skinned Newts would have LESS resistance to the newt toxins than those outside the range of the newts with no exposure to the toxin (news flash: they don't); bacteria would have LESS resistance to Penicillin the more it was applied (literally the opposite), Pine trees which grow in areas that experience routine wildfires would become LESS fire-resistant, etc. etc.
You totally have it backwards.

Rent-Free.

Since you clearly don't understand how herd immunity works, you probably don't care because you're so full of shit about being a biologist.

What? You clearly don't understand how evolution works. Evolution doesn't only occur due to environmental pressures. Mutations occur at random, too, hence things like cancer exist. The more chances something has to evolve, for example a virus being in more hosts, the more likely it is to evolve. If environmental stressors were the only cause of evolution, smallpox and polio would still be running rampant. Due to the vast number of total chances that a virus has to evolve (because a viral load in an infected person is a lot of viruses), viruses and bacteria evolve way faster. If everyone has immunity, then the virus can't take hold and adapt.

Here is a real healthcare system agreeing with me:

The vaccines help stop new variants.

As we vaccinate as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, we can stop the spread of the coronavirus. A slow in transmission of the virus means fewer opportunities for it to mutate, which can help prevent the emergence of any other variants.

It's cute when you google things to try and pretend to be a biologist, though. I do recommend making it way less obvious when you do, though.

Rent-Free.
Since you clearly don't understand the very basic concepts of biology, you're either bullshitting (my guess) or dangerously unqualified for your job. Sleeping through remedial biology class in high school doesn't make you a biologist. Especially when you make the claim to try and impress your fellow right-wing retards who hate scientific progress

You can admit you're full of shit any time now.

Enjoy it while you can, this may be your last summer. You will probably die during the fall or winter due to a cytokine storm. Your immune is now under attack, the next time you encounter, covid, a cold or flu your immune system will go berserk and attack your healthy cells. Make peace with God, get saved before its too late,

I got the first dose of the Astra-Zeneca. Awaiting my second dose in August.

At the end of the day, it's a matter of survival. I'd rather not die, thanks.
You do realize that unless you already have a compromised immune system, you have a 99% chance of surviving Covid. IF you actually got it.. which is almost as rare to get as to die from.
