Okay, son. This is the only time I will direct quote you. You have exposed yourself as a poser in the questions you ask.

Or are you going to keep pretending like anyone actually cares what someone thinks who works at a firm that isn't even registered with the PCAOB?

There are over 2000 firms worldwide registered with the PCAOB. That you think that is a gold, silver or bronze bar of quality just exposes that you are basically rattling off things you seen in random web searches or heard someone say in closing.

Do you even have to know IFRS where you work?

I do not work for an accounting firm. IFRS isn't a big deal, though. We just had a seminar on it and used our knowledgebase software to access information when need be. You REALLY are talking like a student when you say things like this. In practice, these things and stuff like Japanese SOx, etc. you basically know the jist, and you can attend seminars on them and rely on the knowledge management system.

I did a few years at GT, did some work with Creative Solutions, and now I teach and consult outside of accounting, so no, I do not need to know IFRS where I work now.

Piss off old man, and consider going back to school so you'll be able to compete with the up and coming students that were in my MS class that certainly put you to shame.
I will just leave this be and you can consider how this makes your case any more believable.

@Frank Rizzo Lmao, actually he just made me look even more credible with that little bit about the CPA exam. Considering I've already passed 3 sections first try on all of them (AUD 89, FAR 88, BEC 93), and I'm likely about to pass the last as well. The fact of the matter is that most of you are too retarded to even know what the CPA exam is, so the proof I've posted in in here has gone right over your heads.

@yawning sneasel finally coming to this thread and educating all you pathetic cretins is one of the best things to happen so far. By the way, you seemed like a real dunce in your last response. It was obvious that my questions were directed at figuring out what size of firm you worked at. Just as I expected it was something unremarkable, along the lines of Grant Thornton. The fact that you're a serious member of a website dedicated to trolling mentally ill people and you're a teacher actually sickens me, and I feel you should resign immediately.

That being said, I have to get back to studying now. I just wanted to drop in and alert flossman to considering not voting in any election for the rest of his life.

He totally destroyed you. You're in denial buddy. And I know that you're just gonna keep obsessively checking back here while you jerk off and do nothing.

I just wanted to drop in and alert flossman to considering not voting in any election for the rest of his life.
I'm flattered that you'd think of me and denying my civil rights. Tough shit that I'll vote and now all you can think of is to tell me to not get involved in politics.

It's cute.

(Psst... you meant "to consider," not "to considering." What you wrote makes you sound like a fool.)

@yawning sneasel, since you obviously actually know what you're talking about with regards to the field, how difficult would it be for a person without a bachelor's in accounting, nor finished all CPA exams to get a job in the field, since Hoodles just admitted to not having finished the CPA either.

@Emiya Kiwitsugu This is what @yawning sneasel is doing to your question right now

You wanna ask him if he can do your taxes too?

Btw sneasal, these guys seem to be confused why I would stay in on Friday and Saturday nights even with girls texting me. Could you enlighten them on that as well for me?

Oh, are you afraid that he might say that with your self-admitted education and qualifications in accounting, that you wouldn't actually be able to hold down your high paying full-time job that you keep going on and on about?

Depends. There are multiple professions in the accounting industry.

Bookkeeping? Anyone can do that. Simple software like Creative Solutions, Quickbooks, etc. Support it. Even old school paper journal entry, or an MS Access program, anyone can do that. I would guess that 50-70% of bookkeepers have a degree in accounting. You need to be personable because you will deal with MANY small business clients or if you're in one enterprise, eh, you will deal with a lot of co-workers.

Tax lackey? Same as bookkeeping. I am referring to the turbotax and Jackson-Hewitt places.

Staff Accounting? Cost Accountant? You will likely need a bachelors in accounting, finance, or some quant field. You don't NEED one, but there are enough fish in the pond. Someone could make a move in their company into a position like that, too. Would a bachelors help? Yeah, it would develop the mindset, but again, the software does so much, but if you're trusted for analysis, then the orientation should be there.

CFO? You will likely need a bachelors in Accounting or Finance, a MBA or MS in a business discipline. A DBA or PhD could help, but not needed.

CPA (What this jackass claimed to be, then said he is working towards, then said, who cares)? You NEED a bachelors in accounting, in most states (if not all at this point) you NEED 150 hours of college coursework, you NEED 30 hours of accounting (not finance) classes, and one class needs to be in auditing and one needs to be in non-profit public accounting. What is recommended at most schools is an MSA program that runs at 150 credit hours. For your license you need to work between 1-5 years and get 2000 hours of work in a CPA firm in that time frame. Most people move on to other fields because accounting is boring, tedious and with the CPA you are attractive as hell for management positions.

CPA firms will have multiple divisions. There is forensic accounting, auditing, taxation, etc. There are different cerifications for each of these. Example: You can become an enrolled agent and do tax. You can do... I forget what it is called, but it is run by ISACA. It really is boring work.

So, most likely the best he could manage is bookkeeping positions?

That is absolutely hilarious, considering all of his attacking @flossman for being a "book stacker," constantly. Thank you, @yawning sneasel, that information was very needed.
