tl;dr Vaush had to call an anti-war guy that had no problem with denouncing Assad as an Assad shill and made about 6 assertions that he was "just like a Holocaust denier", same guy that bemoans being called a CP apologist as people being "bad faith."

The original IQ test was a stratification tool used by the Americans.
From memory, it was biased against those without academic backgrounds, the questions were in English only, the testing procedures were irregularly applied by supervisors, and there wasn't much (or any?) emphasis on language based reasoning.

Per Hirbowedge again, these limitations have all been addressed, and by the 80's, IQ tests were (and remain) among the best approximations of general intelligence (G), though there are still problems with basing conclusions based on IQ test results at the population or cohort level (fex. the Flynn effect on 'fluid', or 'malleable', IQ).

Myelination is a cogent mechanistic factor for both G and IQ - Recall that central and peripheral nerves are myelinated (ie. wrapped in a myelin sheath to expedite electrical pulse delivery down a nerve), therefore, the better-myelinated a human's nerves, the 'quicker' the transmission of signals. This is why people with multiple sclerosis report poor concentration, brain fog etc., and also why reaction time testing is actually a pretty convenient and effective way of approximating G (there's consistent correlation).

The modern activist Western Left simply don't like IQ tests as it shows stratification in average IQ between various races and ethnic groups (ie. goes against their unnatural, utopian equity fetish, diminishing the standing of their favorite trophy victim groups).
Rather than criticizing the 'race realist' position (which has some substantive flaws IMO), they engage in sophistry, by asserting that modern IQ tests are 'flawed', when the majority of their criticisms only really apply to the earlier testing procedures.

It was on the basis of the final paragraph above that I'd made my original comment.

That Syria debate holy shit. THIS is what I love. The bloke pinned Vaush to a point and wouldn't let him leave it (for a while). He gave him plenty of leeway and outs but when he moved to the next point he got pinned on that too. Vaush was defs looking for an out with the echoes bullshit too.
