Speaking of Thundercats and Silverhawks, the Mike Young version of Tundercats hinted that it and Silverhawks shared the same universe. There is a scene where Mum-Ra is communicating to a creature that looks a lot like Mon-Star (the Silverhawks' main villain) and it was confirmed that it was him.Or course now I'm thinking of that one anime where ThunderCats and Silverhawks designs got used for a pinball machine! I miss the 80's!
Very pretty thoDisney is pandering so hard to Diversity that Encanto is resembling character proportions and features from the 1930's.
That's pretty much the generic length for something you want syndicated, because it gives you 13 weeks of a single episode every weekday, i.e. filling up a full season of daily airings. A show is a failure if it doesn't make it that far, but it's fairly infrequent to have more. If it is renewed at that point, they're often going to go for another 65, which is quite a commitment. That said the article seems weirdly condescending about the show's episode run of 65. It's fairly long for something entirely intended to sell toys.
Interesting how that 65 episode rule managed to survive all the way into the mid 2000s, at least with Disney. The new standard seems to be 52 episodes. That's because current series don't prioritize pumping out as many episodes as possible regardless of the quality.
Alas, that’s about what I’ve heard online. The only other explanation is that COVID delayed the merch release but that’s another supposed. Apologies.Disney has lawyers that told Hamas to fuckoff with using it's Islamic Mickey Mouse. Filoni successfully denying Disney millions of dollars during the Holiday season for creative reasons and not only still working at the company but still alive and breathing is about as believable as Bigfoot actually existing.
Given that Lin Manuel Miranda is behind Encanto, I wonder how long it will take for people to start tearing it down like they did with In The Heights.Disney is pandering so hard to Diversity that Encanto is resembling character proportions and features from the 1930's.
Animaniacs ran from 93-98, it hasn’t quite hit 30.I know it's kinda old news at this point but this clip from animaniacs 2020 was in my YouTube recommendations one day.
And I gotta say for as flawed as the titular animaniacs are pinky and the brain feel like they never left. Aside Maurice lamarce sounding much older but in some ways it kinda works. Like it shows brain is betting older but no better than where he was 30 years ago (stop saying 20 accept that the 90s weren't 20 years ago anymore)
Yet many people are praising it and saying we need more of it because having propaganda like it will give us moral deadlines to meet and redeem the soul of America. That “We The People” cartoon that was done for Netflix and was executive produced by Barack & Michelle Obama’s production team is just proof that corporate art masquerading as “patriotism” in the form of children’s cartoons is peak consumerism at its finest.
Especially hacks like Barack and Michael ObamaYet many people are praising it and saying we need more of it because having propaganda like it will give us moral deadlines to meet and redeem the soul of America.
If you're having your morals and terms of redemption decided by career politicians, you already fucked up. It's no different than the MegaChurch Televangelists.
speaking of 80s was randomly watching clips from the chipmunk adventure from 87. (apologies for the crappy cgi chipmunks the uploader put over the screen during the song must be a copyright thing)Or course now I'm thinking of that one anime where ThunderCats and Silverhawks designs got used for a pinball machine! Oh no wonder it looks good, it had ex-Disney animators working on it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chipmunk_Adventurespeaking of 80s was randomly watching clips from the chipmunk adventure from 87. the animation is very smooth and fluid for a non disney production of that era, the face and movements especially in the dancing looks amazing for the era, if i Didn't know better I'd swear don bluth did some uncredited rotoscoping work on the animation on Dave Seville
Did you know someone at CalArts has a tape of Ross Bagdasarian yelling at the animators because they didn't want to work over Christmas?Oh no wonder it looks good, it had ex-Disney animators working on it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chipmunk_Adventure
I'm glad someone brought this up. Once you find out how this film got made, the less likely you are to enjoy it anymore! And it makes watching this spoof all the more better!Did you know someone at CalArts has a tape of Ross Bagdasarian yelling at the animators because they didn't want to work over Christmas?
Incidentally, one of the guys who worked on this movie, Bob Jaques, later went on to the Bakshi Mighty Mouse. He didn't get any credit, and so he proposed an episode making fun of the 80s Alvin series. (John K., who was there at the same time, loved the idea.)
So since 80s Dave Seville - unlike the angry 60s Dave - was such a touchy-feely wimp, his parody in the cartoon was a creepy loser who unnerves the Chipmunk parodies into becoming his surrogate family. (He always has a mouthful of cereal in what is, I believe, a reference to some very obvious product placement in the Chipmunk film.)
And the backstory is narrated by a dog called "Mashy the Pup," a reference to the Bagdasarians' dog who got run over during production of the movie. The dog liked to go into Bakshi's offices and shit on the carpet, though, so don't feel too bad.
But on the topic at hand... surely the movie can't be too bad if Queen Doris of the Sixth Dimension is in it, but on the other hand I don't know how I feel about the Chipettes singing about "getting lucky."
Pixar does have "Lightyear" scheduled to come out three months after this next summer. It definitely seems that one is going to be the bigger release with it being a spinoff from their most famous Pixar franchise. The trailer for the new Pixar movie Turning Red came out.
It's about a middle school girl who turns into a giant red panda for some reason. The premise seems kinda random and I have no idea how they'll make it work for an hour and a half movie. And those character designs are, I don't know what to say. The spring release date isn't a good sign because Pixar's movies usually come out in the summer when kids are out of school or winter before awards season.
Pixar hasn't been consistently great in like 15 years imo.Weird Pixar is usually some of the better stuff. Toy Story, Inside Out and so on.
