the thought of debuting new groups/gen in such short interval really didn't help to show that idea is true. If anything it shows that Niji uses the strategy to "flood the market" to control the market share
Are they spamming that much more than Holo, though? I mean, based on the fact they were teased in the Lazulight debut CG, they were technically ready at the same time, making the grand "wave" six members, when HoloEN has six as well, now that the Vsinger is out, and Gen 2 might be ready any time now.

Overall, the designs look pretty neat, and TeddyLoid producing their debut track seems like a pretty fucking big grab. With that said, if they end up being meme gremlins too, that's probably gonna start becoming a bit too much for me to follow for a while.

People here actually hate, hololive? Are you serious?
From what I understand, it's not really a hate of the talent, but a hate of the company's middle management. Their attitude towards certain talents/ their practices. Examples include: monumemtally fucking up Coco's Burman filtering program, not allowing talents to do certain streams they seemed really passionate about (I think it was Pekora who wanted to do a giveaway or something).

If you're talking about people saying the EN branch isn't as good chemistry-wise as Niji's in the past few pages, I can definitely see where people are coming from. When you get all 5 of Holo's EN talents in one stream, there's this odd chemistry where only Kiara or Calli will interact and Ame, Ina, and Gura will mostly stay quiet. It's a little less noticeable when it's Calli and Kiara, or Ame and Gura and Ina. Or hell, Calli's 1 on 1 Tabletop streams had some of the greatest interactions between her and the other girls. Not to discount Holo's EN talents, they all are great on their own streams and have their own specific niches and talents. It's just that Niji's EN branch definitely has more chemistry, as all 3 members bounce off each other and have conversations.

Ayo, so I tuned into Kiara's superchat stream and she mentioned that Irys has a 2 week ban with HoloEN and a 1 month ban with HoloJP. She expressed her annoyance with management because originally the ban was meant for generations to form some chemistry, but they also want HoloEN to not be addressed with generations.

IMO, NijiEN blows HoloEN out of the water in terms of chemistry. Could be because 2/3's of the group already worked together though. Most planned HoloEN collabs feel like if you put a group of people in a room and paid them to interact.

Kinda hard to have proper "chemistry" when at least 2 in your group are absolutely shit-faced by having to wake up at ungodly hours or forgo sleep. NijiEN has "chemistry" because a) 2 of them already know each other before they were taken in, and b) they live in the same time zone bar one.

Look at some of HoloENs 3 member collabs, they have pretty nice chemistry because they're not being tard wrangled and just actually wanna play together.

NijiEN wave 3 and 4 is still on going, Wave 3 auditions end by July and 4 by August.
To add to this, it also seems like each member seems to be having their own "side gigs" with:
- Ina having side jobs (big commissions maybe?)
- Calli making her own music
- Kiara....doing idol shit like making her own music too?

Update on the chinks from NGA. Apparently, some of them have migrated to VK and are attempting to settle there. But the Russians there had already fought back with mass reporting and spamming them.

This is hilarious. US made a bad move making an enemy out of Russia when we all (yes even Russians) have a common foe.

Ina takes commission for gacha games with recently having a boat in Azur lane (that stupid takodachis infested the comments section it with Ina posting)
Calli keep her DEMONDICE gig and do lives still today
Kiara.... well she has a weird video blog on Youtube and sometimes cosplay, (or thirst for cosplayers because >europeans)

Not the talents per se (except CN fuck those cunts) but yeah management has showed again and again that they cant into vchubbing without fucking it up it would have been understandable if it was a 1 time thing but they have fucked up repeatedly and that costed us the Dragon

Right now no, but Niji does have a thing with quickly (in comparison to Cover) filling out their rosters and their EN branch is on track for that; they're supposedly screening for their third gen already. Might be a wash in the end though if HoloEN does have another quintet for gen 2, not that big a talent difference between 10 Holos and 9 Nijis in the end.

You know, I've been meaning to say this. I know that the thought "Holo=quality, Niji=quantiy" is pretty much debunked by some, but the thought of debuting new groups/gen in such short interval really didn't help to show that idea is true. If anything it shows that Niji uses the strategy to "flood the market" to control the market share, especially when you looked that they tried to appeal to the lowest common denominator as possible
I don't get why they push them out so quickly given the viewership differences and risk of cannibalism, but it might just be a case of flinging enough at the wall to see what sticks. Given Niji isn't really trying to compete with Holo in the numbers game it does give them a niche in the overseas market as a lot of talent who couldn't make Hololive will inevitably come their way.

Wave 2 Obsydia. It is the girls from the background lmao.
Announced 22 hours earlier than I expected, based on LazuLight's announcement to debut timeframe. Those are definitely the designs we saw in the LazuLight debut artwork:
liexES0.png
Their original song already has it's premiere reservation up, and the lyrics can be found in the video's description. Look's like there's a bit of japanese this time:
Interesting that they have a logo; I wonder if LazuLight will ever get their own.

This. Hololive is a large Japanese company ran by Japanese boomers in Japanese ways, those managers and old suits around the table fucking up and cockblocking Hololive talents' projects time after time in order to save their Asian face and prevent the slightest possibility of something negative happening. Zero risk is their modus operandi.

And when something negative does inevitably happen (taiwan incident, BL meltdown, Oga's dice game etc etc), in traditional Japanese fashion the managers force the talents to grovel and apologize to whichever twitter retard they managed to annoy instead of just ignoring them and letting them fade to obscurity, and then slap the talents with a 1 week - 1 month streaming ban even though they didn't actually do anything wrong.

We love the talents (and Yagoo) and hate the geezers at management. They really take the fun away!

(except CN fuck those cunts)

CN as a whole shit the bed? Not just Artia? I knew Artia was a fucking bitch but nothing about the others.

This is hilarious. US made a bad move making an enemy out of Russia when we all (yes even Russians) have a common foe.

Not drifting off-topic but there's no way anyone could have seen that coming in the Cold War when the Soviet Union was a much bigger threat. Maybe things will warm up when Putin calls it quits, but whatever ends up with the dragon getting it's head caved in is a good deal.

To be fair, LazuLight has an advantage with 2 of the 3 knowing each other from before (we see that in Hololive with PekoMiko and Okayu and Korone) and being in a smaller group overall. HoloEN has 5 people (pre-IRyS), spread all over the world (North America, Europe, Japan) so hanging out and doing stuff like guerrilla collabs can get very tricky!

I say it’s a corporate disease making them inevitably wanting to jerk everyone in the room rather than just being Japanese and boomers. Haven’t we seen enough cock sucking Western companies do to realize that?

All except Yogiri did some pretty sketch stuff, a lot of it is documented in earlier pages (around 400ish IIRC). Most of it was leaked by Artia shortly after her graduation presumable to drag everyone else down with her

They have 2 more waves coming. It's par for the course for Niji though - they have been sticking to 3 members for foreign branches while JP branches are 4-5.

Holo is basically just sticking to they 5 per gen/wave rule save for special releases like Gamers or VSingers.

Assuming the Vtuber trend is still alive and kicking by 2022, we can expect at the trend to be 4 waves per year from Niji and only 1 from Holo. So yes, despite Holo (relatively) being first in the EN market, Niji is spamming harder than Holo

To be fair, I was half expect them to come out with apology letter for showing Nazi minion on Pekora stream and then slap her with 1 week ban for that rando fag antic, but they haven't done that yet. Either they doesn't realize the symbol is a big no-no for western twitard, or they finally learning that they don't have to roll on the ground and show their belly for every minor issue. I hope it's the latter.

I don't get why they push them out so quickly
This is purely my speculation but my guess is to secure at the very least more collab opportunities. Compare the month of July. JP has off the top of my head.
  • VMA 2021
  • NijiBara live event
  • Bilibili concert (to be fair this one is virtual real but Hoshikawa and Kanae participated too)
  • Exhibit at Bilibili world Shanghai
  • Youtube music weekend
  • Pachinko tournament
  • Shueisha, Sweet paradise, Monster strike official collab
  • Google Assistant Q&A
Counting announcement for future events it's even more. Compare to that what do the EN girls has this month? That one Anime Expo appearance? Who the fuck go to Anime Expo anymore? And you can't just stick the En girls in JP events since as far as I know only Elira speak Japanese.

Nijisanji debutted a total of 6 members for 2020 for their main branch so that's preconceptions of Niji = more is outdated. Nevermind I was wrong. My original point stand though.

Elira almost leaked Nijisanji EN Wave 2 when Pomu called her. Apparently the Gen 2 joined just right after she left the call :story:
EDIT: And Pomu also asked if she'd join her in playing Minecraft...in the middle of her Genshin stream lol.

To add to the reason as to why Niji can get more to debut compared to Hololive, it might just be because Anycolor's a bigger company than Cover. Remember that each new talent requires an accompanying resource which might not be something Cover can provide readily.

I thought Spade Echo was fairly clean, but one of the others was spreading rumors about her.

NijiEN2 sound almost exactly like the existing three in the promo that I thought they were just going to be the same girls just playing bizarro versions of their characters as a spin off.

Don't forget they're also still auditioning for NijiID new gen, and also just debuted new KR gen after EN. So the amount of spam is quite large compared to Holo
Note, however, that for EN and the new ID, they for some reason went with an all-female group instead of the mixed gender format they previously used. I think some are speculating that they're trying to experiment with Holo's idol-like format for now, especially since the new gens debuted with a new song

Edit:
Also forgot to add their new VTuber Academy reminds me of how some big Talent Jimusho works in Japan, especially the Geinin (comedian/entertainer) companies and, surprise surprise, the Idol companies
