DSP is one of those people that has to spend money the second they get it. It's that simple.

i have no doubt in my mind he is broke as fuck in all actually, i mean he was 500k in debt. but yeah, he just spends money as fast as he gets it. be it bills, jpegs, delivery everyday, xbox, or random shit.

so when he begs, he fucking means it. this dude makes 100k and is living a 100k dollar life.

Forgive me if it’s already been brought up but what perplexes me about Phil’s claim of a “silent majority” of fans is if such a thing does exist, why does he need to beg almost every stream? Why doesn’t that silent majority step up Phil? Why is it always the same 6-7 people carrying the streams either from their main or sock accounts? Where is this silent majority? It’s nonexistent.

The silent majority is used when chat wants something. If chat wants Phil to play a new game, the silent majority wants him to continue playing the same game. If chat wants him to continue playing a game, the silent majority wants him to stop playing it.

I think Phil is laundering stolen credit cards into paypal tips (in minecraft). Its pretty easy and cheap to buy a bundle of stolen credit cards off the spooky dark web. Then all you have to do it have people use those credit card to send paypal tips, if they are done in 2-5 dollar increments they may mostly go unspotted. I agree he is too much of a chicken shit and too incompetent to actually do that himself, but I believe he would have no problem ordering his cultists to do it for him and letting them do all the dirty work. Hell, a whale or derich may have originally proposed the idea to him. I really like this theory as it explains a few things:

1) Phils familiarity with the chargeback/refund process on paypal.
2)Why the "refund trolls" seem to come in waves.
3)Why people like derich are allowed to stick around and get his attention despite not providing any pha$ativity to his stream.

I agree which is always the wall I come up against trying to figure out what's really happening. The only long-shot explanation for that is that the scheme was cooked up by someone else who just pitched Phil with "hey, I can guarantee $X will be donated if you do Y but you only get to keep 25%" or whatever.

I dont think dsp would actually do anything illegal like that. Its more likely he is seeding himself fake tips to boost the tips total. It probably hurts his ego just as much as his wallet when he sees a $20 tips total on the leaderboard. He knows he gets made fun of when tips are low so boosting the total is at least something he can do to flex on the trolls and try to give off the appearance of being successful.

I really don't know though, the obvious answer is he's just lying about his financial situation but I just can't wrap my head around someone making five figures per month having trouble paying for groceries and utilities. Thats stuff people in poverty still manage to pay. He's either really, really, really terrible at managing his finances or something else is going on and he doesn't actually have the money we all think he does.
