Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

One thing about the Owl House is, at least 97% of the “queer gay bipoc” bullshit, is coming from the fandoms, a sizable-chunk of the creators, their cult of friends, & the adult troons who project onto most cartoons. The ones who write for the Mary Sue & can’t shut-up about anything ID Pol, etc. Come to think of it, there seems to be quite a bit of overlap between these groups, plus nepotism is very alive & well at Disney.

Watched this show with some kids of a family member, & they noticed nothing. None cared that the main character is Latina, none cared about a girl liking a girl.

The kids focused on the adventure plot, trying to predict if the main character will get home, to see her mom. They also liked the creepy stuff. The show seemed exciting & humorous enough for average kids to watch.

If the show runner & various cults (her friends & weird fandom troons) would btfo, most of the stuff that they praise, would barely even be after-thoughts. Creators & head cases trying to capitalize on the SJW articles & such, make the whole thing reek, more than it needs to.

The show w/ out all that BS gets a solid C grade from me. Average writing, average animation, slight marks down for resembling bean mouth art, neat premise, overall average & passable on its own.

It was idiotic of the creator or her boyfriend (iirc, it was one of them) to give interviews about how they “stuck it to Disney!!!” just for having a show w/ a Latina who dances w/ another chick. Like they did some big thing. Calling your employer “evil assholes” (paraphrasing obviously) is pretty fuckin’ stupid when up for renewal. No wonder their 3rd season got snipped into what amounts to a couple OVA’s.

Whoever called it “Western Little Witch Acadamia” upthread, hit the nail on the head.

Now, watch me get proven wrong; a wild troon character will attack, which will change everything.

I been wondering if that's why Disney isn't giving them a proper third season

Disney would literally put a bullet into every person in this show's heads if it would make them more money. It is not being cut short due to them talking shit about Disney online, though that might be a factor, it's all down to how much cash Disney can make off it. If the answer is not enough then they'll smile politely, talk about how proud they are about the wonderful work done especially when it comes to representation and then shuffle them into a darkened room to let the next lot come out.

My personal suspicion is it's not getting many rewatches. The adult viewers are treating it like a soap and watching it once but Disney want episodes that will distract viewers time and again because their audience are still mostly children.

Now they convinced themselves they're siblings, because they can't admit he's a better character than Amity. :story:

edit: shoot, this was supposed to go to the shipping thread, but we were discussing TOH anyway. The recent episode is actually pretty good, maybe the show will redeem itself because stuff about the convent and the emperor are more interesting than romance shit. Hunter is a good character, but it's fucking hilarious how hypocritical Lumity hos are.
What if Dana's been baiting us all along?
edit2: Fans are rallying on twitter to save the show but looking through the hashtag it's mostly Lumity shit. Literally all they care about.

Biphobia is still a very real thing in fandoms. I can forgive younger teenagers for being ignorant since they've still got time to learn better, but the older fans have no excuse.
