Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

The worst part, to me, is that this would be an -ideal- time to put the breaks on spending and instead renew interest in "Buying American". Every economy, even China, is reeling from the global bullshit. There are rising gas prices globally due to more people desperate to do -anything- post lockdowns guzzling gas like no tomorrow. And there is a strong need for high-paying jobs locally, manufacturing jobs often fitting this role. Its politically and economically ideal to push spending towards manufacturing job growth locally.

Quite literally everything Trump wanted to do would be -ideal- in this scenario.

The fact they are saying widespread makes me believe they will move goalposts. Fraud will be found but the lugenpresse will state it was inconsequential then ask why conservatards are upset over 'inconsequential' voter fraud as if any voter fraud is inconsequential.

My theory is that the Army is pandering like this because they're mad that a majority of their recruits still come from Southern military families. Those recruiting grounds are drying up and/or they believe they're literal white supremacists now and are trying to force diversity into it because they don't trust the boys they've recruited/used so far. It's so cold and creepy. There's no gratefulness or loyalty there at all to the people who have historically given their lives for the country.

You are correct. Rebuilding the manufacturing base would be the best approach because we now have evidence that supply chains spanning the globe is probably not the best way to run an economy.

Yet Biden is supposed to get us "back to normal." I don't think that will be possible. Too many people probably said "fuck it" and bailed on their corporate job for whatever would give them purpose.

The Northern Alliance tribes seemed like they were more than willing to go that route back in late 2001. The world would have condemned it, and it certainly would've been horrific and terrible...but I wonder if, in the aftermath of 9/11, anyone in the US would've cared.

Definately the case with people like Romney. And for them it ultimately has nothing to do with winning "brown" votes (Trump proved in 2020 that the way to do that was to campaign on working-class concerns), but everything to do with pleasing their corporate donors.

Dubya could have crowned himself king in the aftermath of 9/11 and a sizable chunk of the US population wouldn't have cared, so killing off the Pashtun would have been just one of those things that happened back then and you'd only hear people start complaining about it ten years later, which would make the socjus problem we're dealing with now worse since they'd have even more ammunition for their "whitey is teh evuls" schtick.

Probably. But then again, one of the things that helped SocJus get such prominence were the endless wars in the fucking desert. Being utterly ruthless and clearly sending the message "attack our cities and people and we will show absolutely no mercy" might have also gotten Saddam to comply with the WMD inspectors or resign from leadership without any shots fired, thus no Iraq war.

Rule thru fear might sometimes have its merits.
