Dave spending money on shit that isn't takeout food or WWE champions is a bit out of the ordinary. Maybe he is legit trying to grow his streaming audience and he thinks that buying new toys will bring the dolla bills in.

You're mental if you buy into the whole "a fan bought it" shit, Phil's begging has been through the roof recently, and this is the direct result of it.

He's been increasingly more erratic and unhinged lately because of what an abject failure his YouTube streams are, and is impulse buying to fill the void, and to kid himself he's making improvements. I'm kinda excited to see what happened when he's exhausted this supply of copium tbh.

I don't think anyone is shocked that it happened, more that he'd have the slavering gall to do this shortly after the begathon and not even attempt to hide it until after the joyous day YouTube pays him and everything's in the clear for a few hours.

Minor point but he was able to tell when he was getting the Xbox by the hour (which you can do, sort of, if you have a USPS tracking number) but not when the laptop from Amazon will be there, which would not be the case if it was arriving via Amazon’s delivery service had he purchased it himself, as they will give you a window and let you know when the driver is close. Watch his behavior carefully when he’s looking at his phone. Given his proximity to Seattle it is extremely likely it will be arriving via Amazon shipping.

People receiving deliveries from Amazon’s delivery service do not get updates if they were purchased by someone else, as far as I know.

Correct, you do not get updated when people buy stuff for you on Amazon. Reason #132432 proving Phil's a liar but I'm mentally ill for pointing this out.

So lets say that for a second that he indeed got the Xbox and laptop donated. That would imply that there is an investor of sorts that's willing to spend almost 1k in phil in order to improve his streams. Now here is the thing, the timing of it all it is suspicious to say the least. But there's also another possibility that this was a joint whale(s) operation to own the filthy trolls from the farms. Obviously a question surges, why now? since lets be real the whales dont care about the presentation/ equipment of phil streams. Also there exist a possibility although small that his parents may have gotten him at least the laptop under the deception that he needs it for his very important work of playing video games.

Overall is an interesting line of thought to pursue, even though the odds are he scammed his viewers and used the money from the fundraiser to get the laptop and the xbox

The people who spend money to own the trolls want their names out there so they can take credit. They'd never demand to remain anonymous.
