The funniest thing I find about this if his story checks out regarding two anonymous fans gifting him these new toys is

1) He is still going to demand more and more regardless of these new things. You will never satisfy the greed of Phil.
2) He will at some point talk shit about the “donated” item and possibly break it.

But we all know he bought these things himself.

This laptop business reminds me of when Phil said that using a camera to record the screen with Phil's surround sound system would enhance the viewer's experience as opposed to using direct-capture and using headphones.

In a peculiar selfish way, Phil seems to be focused on enhancing the experience for himself, but of course he has to act like he is doing it for the fans (phil claiming that seeing donos faster would be a benefit for his viewers). I think this also goes with why Phil still insists on playing on his flat screen TV instead of sitting at his desk and investing in a green screen to enhance the viewer's experience.

By the way, small note but if you're streaming don't use 2 separate computers to do it, you can easily stream on one and also get the chat on it (there are whole programs just getting Twitch chat that are very light). The reason you don't want to do this is it's going to lag the fuck out of your internet connection, this might be the one use DSP's business class internet line has: It let's him use 2 computers to stream while gaming on his console without affecting his streams greatly. Shame his business class internet is still trash and he could easily just stop being retarded and stream and game on one system, but hey, if it's gonna burn money stupidly then Burnell is on it.

I think my favorite thing about this is how absolutely nothing will change with the stream itself. Looking forward to hearing what new thing he should just buy will definitely improve the stream now.
Phil said he would reveal something 'fun and positive' that would 'improve the stream' if he made $1,000, and it ended up being a fucking cat.

Any hope he would invest in things to actually improve his setup and content quality died when he spent years saying direct capture was for try hards not real gamers. After he finally adopted it he made it sound like some incredible revelation he'd had that could help get more viewers.

DSP has flat out said that the stream is for people to have fun watching HIM be entertained, and it is NOT his job to entertain the audience NOR is it DSP's job to make a "bad game" entertaining because that would be lying to his audience.

Went to check out a bit of DSPs old Skyward Sword playthrough. Proud ally btw.
He's only claiming to be an "ally" because it would make him look better. This is what he always does, pretends to be a stand-up person all while his actions show the opposite. I would much rather Phil be honest and say "fuck that ally shit" instead of pretending to be one. On top of the fact it's so weird that everyone in today's age has to be a part of a "group."

Most of the big streamers use 2 computers, one optimised for games and one optimised for streaming.

Any decent internet connection in 2021 will handle that without a problem.
I was talking about monitoring chat exclusively on one PC, what you're talking about and how DSP uses it would actually be a third PC. Technically he only uses 2 PCs because he's a console luddite. Using a whole pc just to monitor your chat is stupid and is what I was talking about. I'm sure plenty of people game on one system and capture with another.

Given that is the it is the entry Acer brand laptop, I think that Phil or the donator spent a least $500 for it. The baseline version runs for $300 but he got a hdd upgrade to 256GB and a ram from 4GB to 12GB. Looking for that particular laptop model on Amazon and Target I found out the CPU, Ryzen 3200u, is actually a 2 core CPU. That is going to give him a lot of problems in the long run trying to do anything decently task heavy. A lot of web based code tends to be single thread heavy but that will change in the future.

If $500+ was spent on this laptop particularly on one with an AMD CPU then go with one that has 8 cores. 4700u or the 5700u (this is zen2 not zen3) are great long term choices to look for. I guess the plan for DSP is to look for a desktop pc. This fucking dude really picks the worst time in tech to upgrade his shit.

One more thing if he has a stream deck he can a least set up the commands for it on the laptop and then transfer everything over the new main PC. The reason why his stream deck doesn't work on his PC is because it is still on windows 8.1 and there are only drivers for it on windows 10. I wonder if the Windows 11 announcement is making this dude think that he needs to upgrade all his hardware to preparation.
