My understanding is that he's ineligible from accessing money on credit from most financial institutions and credit lenders for about another four and half years now, so logically he shouldn't be using a credit card right now or asking any banks for a business overdraft or anything.

That doesn't really rule out that he can access money elsewhere if he really wants from some dodgy place that doesn't want to follow his bankruptcy terms, like some shifty credit union or a pawnbroking establishment that offers you pay day loans...
As soon as your bankruptcy is discharged you can get a new credit card. If you go through Chapter 13, which involves a structured payment plan to your creditors for 3-5 years before the outstanding debt is discharged, then you have to wait until the last payment is made. If you go through Chapter 7, like Phil did, it can be as little as 3 months until you are eligible for new lines of credit.

The happy ending to this is that there is no way he isn’t getting absolutely colonoscopic interest rates, and there is no chance of him discharging his debts this time.

You're telling me DSP's fans are willing to shell out thousands of dollars a week on him but when the need comes for a PC they gift him the same exact toaster he's been using for over 5 years instead of getting him something more extravagant?
They can't gift him a high-end gaming PC rig when his excuse has been that his current computer is too trash for PC gaming?
There are so many fucking holes in this narrative lmao
According to Phil, he had a fan spend their money to donate a laptop computer to Phil because he is too lazy to adopt a setup where he can read chat and stream on one computer. Buying a laptop is a ridiculous waste of money, especially for Phil's use-case, considering the price of the low-power CPU and other parts if they were purchased in a custom PC. There is no way this laptop business puts Phil in a positive light, wether he got it donated or bought it himself :story:

Sure there is. He'll make minimum payments for years, pay 3x the value he owes in interest, and then he'll finally be eligible for a brand new bankruptcy.

Phil is the dumbest person I've ever seen when it comes to money. The man went bankrupt and learnt nothing from it. On one hand, it guarantees that he'll be a lolcow until he dies, which is great for us. On another, it's kinda sad to see a grown man be like this.

Anyone else remember back in January that OIC said, in stream chat, that he had bought Phil a laptop and wanted to hand deliver it to him?
Then for half of February he was very pissy and rarely around/tipped?

And, in a totally unrelated story, Phil had to get a phone notification that his laptop arrived.
But when his XSX arrived, he had heard something outside and checked the window before he found out the console was delivered.

I'm totally sure neither of these are related, and that the phone notification wasn't a text from OIC saying he had arrived with the laptop.

But... was there any site of OIC in chat on the day stream today? I wonder...

The maximum lending amount for payday loans in WA is 700 dollars. Just an idle thought.
Can you even get a payday loan if you don't have a paystub? Pretty sure Dave couldn't just dump a bunch of paypal statements and expect that to work on them.

He could probably get some predatory personal loan though at a ridiculous interest rate.

We warned him for years but he never listened, now it's pretty much too late. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the rest of this constant train wreck.

His hair is on point right now.

Just been able to catch up to todays laptop news.

Phil's pathology is hilarious. Instead of simply setting up tips goals to honestly buy an xbox/laptop as any other streamer would do (and his whales would cover instantly), he lies for weeks about his financial situation, buys both items, and then on top of that does a begathon to ensure he actually makes money and to be able to continue the "im poor, please tip" act for undoubtedly the next months and years. He's now willing to hardcore beg on the internet when doesn't need to so not one dime comes out of his pocket. So much for the 5k biz expenses. :story:

He's full on habituated to getting everything covered for him. With the exception of buying games here or there, which he even wants his fans to cover whenever he mentions their prices on stream, he's not going to "lose money" in a transaction for a stream item, whether it is fan service or helpful for himself, from here on out.

Totally normal behavior btw.
