April getting a full Brazilian wax and her nails. What the hell is her channel even anymore ?
She starts her vlog by showing a shit ton of cardboard boxes from their moving, and saying "they make our lives feel messy and cluttered", and that she has to make an appointment to get them removed. Quite frankly, it seems like a waste. You can just remove the tape, fold them, and pack them up in a pile somewhere in the garage for when you might need them again. Those moving boxes aren't exactly cheap (at least they aren't in France, wouldn't know about the US, but it's still an additional expense).
And even if you don't want to keep them for a "what if?" scenario, even though it's fairly certain they'll move eventually again, what's the problem with her getting the cardboard to a recycling facility herself? She has a car and free time? Am I missing something? I swear, this confuses the shit out of me.
For the appointment, she parks about a block away and worries about "getting back to her car" after the wax. She also grabs meal preps for her husband on her way to the nail salon and, as I mentioned several times in my previous posts and will hammer it in once more - imagine having a stay-at-home wife that buys pre-made meal preps instead of cooking herself. What the fuck, April?
Her story about insecurities and doing stuff for herself would have more impact if we didn't see her constantly "spoiling herself". She's been getting her nails done throughout her weight loss journey, and constantly buying food treats or else way too much overpriced Fabletics activewear, so I don't see how her going to an expensive salon this time around is any different?
She mentions storming out of a first salon and being "'so offended" and her "feelings hurt" because no technician came to see her when she walked in without appointment, and another girl coming in after her got service immediately. Then, she apparently got refused service at a second salon because the technician told her they had no space when, once again, she showed up without appointment. April says that perhaps they hated her because she was fat, and that she went to cry in her car afterwards.
Finally, she found a salon through a YT chick she's been following. It looks fancy and they even has a menu, so April naturally got a "fancy" (read: overpriced) pedicure instead of a regular one. From the menu shots she shows, seems like the fancy one's price is explained by a scrub, warm towels, moisturizer, and massage cream. Again, being a Eurofag, I can't rate whether this is normal or not for the States, but here in France, a pedicure at a salon will automatically get you moisturizer and short massage, and the scrubbing is done with those special hard brushes to remove dead skin.
From the footage April shows, she got her lower legs scrubbed with orange slices, which is kind of amusing since orange is known to dry skin, and if there's any part of her body she should be using it on, it's her face, not her tibias. Also, for that price, she could've just gotten an actual full-body Thai massage, or else several medical pedicures, which is what she should be doing instead of going to a regular salon tbh.
