Also in the comments some of his fans were implying to stop deadlifting and try a different exercise. Not an easier alternative like the trap bar deadlift, but fucking power cleans, which are even harder than the deadlift or any of the standard compound lifts.

It's the fact that these are the same people that try to appeal to emotion, particularly American sensibilities, to try and convince people to embrace their views. They have an uncomfortably-serpentine tendency to try and appeal to "how good things can be" Americanism, all the while spitting all over everything America is represented by. Needless to say, I really don't like that. But then again, it's probably my fault for expecting any more civil behavior from someone who has exercised no restraint in shouting down debate opponents, all the while advocating for being "civil."

It comes off as opportunitistic to weasel their way into people's conversations
as though they're the better party in question. When in reality they are just out of touch with people and don't have the life experience or knowledge to articulate the problem properly. Huh, I was under the impression that The Last Airbender was something that everybody could enjoy and get something out of irrespective of personal politics. There's nothing wrong with certain shows having certain traits, just as long as the show in question integrates it effectively by the parameters of its own lore and setting.

Beyond that, this is something that has bothered me regarding a lot of internet political commentators. Why do they constantly use literal cartoon shows, many of them being made for younger viewers, to try and justify their recent political developments? Is it a dangerous lack of book consumption, or some kind of coping mechanism to try and justify their viewpoints with characters that are appealing to large swaths of people? I don't know, but I always get the vibe that the same kinds of people who unironically use children's cartoons to justify their politics are the same kinds of "grown-ups" that still eat children's breakfast cereals.
