I’m pretty sure most people on EFAP think that Southpaw’s take is shit but don’t call him out on it to avoid him throwing a tantrum.


I believe his SM 2 take was to some extent genuine as flawed as it was. but this BTAS thing is just him being contrarian. He’s also very blatantly getting details wrong. For example the whole “Batman cures blindness” crap he’s going on about. In the context of the episode the machine is shown to be a highly experimental prototype that can only let the person see in infrared and also ends up malfunctioning partway into the episode constantly alternating between on and off.

It really sucks when people just give up on critiquing things properly and start fudging details to make the product seem worse than it actually is. Who is that supposed to help? If it was actually bad, you wouldn't need to misrepresent it in order to make your point.

I think he is trying to say that you can't just use BTAS as a metric for good without acknowledging what it does wrong. He just says it in such a roundabout way or maybe I'm just being too charitable.Also who care about "closing the distance" some level of suspension of disbelief is needed when watching any movie. That and if that didn't happen they would replace it with something else like bulletproof armor or some good old plot armor.

It honestly feels that southpaw and his clique are desperately trying to find their “holdo manuever” or “disappearing knife” moment... first it was the tentacle blade then the fucking thermos.


I’m the resident mauler apologist but even I’m getting tired of EFAP. It can still be entertaining but their are a couple of things that turn me off. One is that a lot of the recent video subjects are kind of boring... like nowadays a lot of the content they cover is from people who are overall pretty normal just with questionable takes now and again.

The second is the hot takes. At times I feel like they do them just to be contrarian. The takes fall into the categories of either haven’t seen it (Bojack the Boys), takes like MOS being worse than BVS and Josstice League being better than Snyder league where I disagree but don’t really care sense I’m not a fan of either, takes that I overall disagree with but agree with some of the points like mando season 2, takes I strongly disagree with like Winter Soldier and Spider-Man 2 being bad, and absolutely retarded ones like BTAS, ATLA (though this was more of Rags being a smartass), Doom Eternal, and Clone Wars (I know a portion of the farms dislike the show and I myself have criticisms of it but Theo did a horrible job representing the “clone wars is bad” camp) being shit.

I dunno. I haven't heard Southpaw in the last few EFAPs, so I think they're quietly distancing themselves from him so as avoid Southpaw's sperge out with the audience and other panel members.

Mauler says he hates CS but doesn't like it when people use them as a boogeyman for bad filmmaking because it obviously bothers him that people put efap on the same level as CS, somehow Beige Frequency got involved in this, and he had a back and forth with Mauler, if BF makes a video about Mauler I would be interested if efap bothers to respond to it.

Kinda fucking amazed he thinks Heart of Ice is bad. How exactly ? What nitpicks does he have against a kids cartoon ? That episode made Mr Freeze a respected villian, had heart, pathos and a bittersweet ending.
