SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Blairin even now is still clinging to power even as it becomes more and more apparent that his despotic behavior is alienating everyone he needs to maintain a grip on authority. It’s amazing RPC has survived and even occasionally thrived with a string of incompetent tyrants leading the way. Even more incredible that nobody cared to politely push him out of the way after his lore team tampering and subsequent temper tantrum.
None of the things people think will kill RPC will actually do the trick, including Blairin. Things are going to stay the way they are until he leaves, but it's certainly not going to die off.

RPC won’t die with a bang, it’ll be with a whimper, but the longer the tyrant is in charge the sooner that whimper will be heard.

I think you're being a little dramatic

The more words you write about something the less is left to the imagination, so your words better be good. Volgun does great work here as usual but the material itself is inherently cheapening the idea by stretching something that worked being spooky in one article to an entire mythos without doing anything significantly additive. Basically,

Since Tufto's 001 was brought up I have wanted to ask, given your insight into the community and it's inner workings, how much butthurt did this one SCP bring to the usual suspects? I imagine the subject matter wasn't to their liking, given it's perceived trashing of everything postmodern. Some of the comments on it have always make me wonder how much they screeched in their private servers, given how it was too well written and well liked to actually come down hard on it.

I can’t recall anyone being too fussed about it but given that I was at the top level of the social hierarchy there I may have a warped perspective.

Not gonna lie, I thought the original was a copy of something from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
Oh man I loved those. Talk about creepy. I know they made a movie recently, didn’t watch it. I wonder what they would look like nowadays with an LGBTQ flag on the front cover? Why hasn’t this happened actually? Is the creator bigoted??

Staff have banned AdminBright, for 6 months, and for an offense unrelated to his inappropriate sexual behavior, which includes grooming underage members of the site.

Unsure who the person referred to is who he “recommended action against”, I wonder if it is @kiwi-identified cow.

Also unsure about how fieldstone is/was involved, but clearly is. That one is a perma.

It seems staff was ultimately willing to tacitly admit Bright’s wrongdoings, but in a round-about way, making a compromise with a lesser charge for optics’ sake. I wonder if there was a sort of plea bargain behind the scenes. He can never return to staff per the terms of this ban.

A nominal victory and step in the right direction nonetheless. Good on staff, although still a little weak.

They did it in the most backhanded way possible but it is better than nothing. I just wish it was justice worth celebrating by the victims. But it’s looking like even with staff gummimg up the works for years the wheels of justice were still inexorably turning.

I know they said they investigated old harassment cases but given that Bright has been a member of the team since the beginning this casts a shadow over everything the team has ever done, not that there was much trust nowadays to start with.

The Bright ban definitely feels like a compromise, but honestly I’m not sure why they’d need to do so. If the admins are finally comfortable enough to kick him out for 6 months and bar him from joining staff again, regardless of how the fandom reacts, they might as well commit and permaban him. God knows he deserves it. I’ve got no clue what he supposedly did either, but if I had to guess, it was probably something that happened way in the past when Bright had more power and had a habit of making his own rules.

I’m much more surprised to hear about Fieldstone, though. Our interactions were limited but he always struck me as someone who took things like this very seriously, and I wasn’t surprised when I learned that he joined AH. If true, then that’s really unfortunate.

Edit: I was just informed that neither I nor @ToS was correct about what Bright did. I’m not sure if the person who told me wants me to clarify any further, and I’m not able to ask, so I’ll leave it at that unless they reach out again.

fyi bright was banned for jumping the gun with kinchtheknifeblade, prompted by a statement released by aht to kinch explaining how they were banned because ‘two mods jumped the gun’, but they claimed to not know who these people are due to aht record expunging. this of course made people angry, so they did a deeper investigation to quell the mob and found out, well, this.

i dont know the details with fieldstone besides they got caught because of an audit on every past aht case to see if people were covering things up, which they were found to have been doing serially, to many peoples surprise (since they’ve mostly slipped under the radar of this thread and the community)

Real shitty. This isn’t the best look given that both were on AHT. Seems like a real hub for power abuse. I get that the current AHT made the call so… meh.
