Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

it’s also part of what makes him so successful.
Can't say I understand how Ethan publicly attacking Doug's business over a perceived slight so petty is good for Ethan's business but then I didn't understand why he carried water for his worst fans in WarCampaign either.

Ethan and I definitely come from different schools when it comes to business. Is there a Paris Hilton School of Business?

Don't misunderstand, I totally get that it's exciting to be part of getting a book funded up to a big milestone like $500k or something huge like that. It feels like you're part of something and there's the sort of "us vs them" thing that was really going strong at times like Doug's Bigfoot Bill campaign when Ethan had the stream that sent the campaign into the stratosphere. That was exciting and fun to watch. I get it.

Splitting campaigns when you make six figures right out of the gate almost every time with a dedicated backer base and a professional name behind you might not make sense. But guys like Clint Stoker who don't do those numbers should explore every option to maximize their profitability and for people that are in that six figure club to bitch about him even considering it is absolute bullshit.

The ones that could really successfully double dip are probably the ones that wouldn't really need to. Why go through the hassle of managing two campaigns if you're pulling down six figures in one go on a single platform? It's the small guys who are involved in CG who depend on every dollar and might benefit more. If they think they've hit a wall with their IGG backers, there's no reason they shouldn't consider another platform that could potentially reach more people.
I am glad you agree with me.
Doubledipping makes sense when there are dedicated communities on both sites to get money from. If EVS made a Cyberfrog tabletop game or YBZ did a pen and paper Jawbreakers RPG, he counld IGG it to get it funded, then do a Kickstarter to get the tabletop community there.
I doubt there is a strong comicbook comunity for 90's revival comics on KS though

I’ve said that KS certainly appears to be better for smaller creators, while IGG is better for big names, so I have no idea how a sort of “mid-tier” campaign like Clint’s would do. Both really could be the way to go in his case.

If Clint wants to double dip, people shouldn't be getting a stick up their ass about it. CG initially boycotted Kickstarter because they screwed over Zack over nonsense in a sign of solidarity and it was probably safe to assume the rest of the group would be treated the same. If Clint doesn't get kicked off and the campaign gets a decent funding, CG should take that as a victory and consider this a chance to expand their audience potential. If he flops...well EVS and Malin can go peacock about how right they were I guess.

EVS already said he wouldn’t care if Clint or anyone from CG wanted to try their luck with Kickstarter. He doesn’t want to be in anyone’s way if they can make money. He also said that out of principle he will not be dealing with Kickstarter himself.

As for what everyone else thinks or even EVS for that matter, Clint should do what’s best for Clint.

Anybody know why Mark 'Plank of Wood' Poulton's book is under review at IGG?

If they're your audience the only way they could be unaware of your book is if you fail to promote it. You make it sound like your backers are fucking retards (...).
That's not what I meant, maybe I should explain myself better.

I had a guy who bought Asyl who told me "Why did it take you so long to do another comic after Stardust?" He had no clue about Trixie or Brutas.

It's the internet, and nobody will be able to keep up 100% with everybody. I've even missed Stephen King releases, completely unaware he had new book(s) coming out. BUT people need to know where to look for them--I've had videos from certain people I'm subscribed to show up in the "suggested" section on YouTube and I have no clue how I missed that video in the first place, since I watch all their videos. But because I'm using YouTube, I'll eventually come across it...

...but if they uploaded it to BITCHUTE, I'd never stumble upon it.

It's like that. Some people just won't find it if you shift around all these platforms, if they just use one. Like a Scott Snyder fan who buys all his books in the comic shop might be unaware of the new Comixology deal Snyder has.

And EVS is a man of his word, right?

None of what he said came across as threatening Clint at all, right?

That's why Cecil was calling EVS "Tony" while he talked about loyalty and respect. If Frog didn't care he wouldn't have ranted about it on his show for ten minutes. Making cryptic comments about "following the rules" and 'showing respect', Clint has been successful because "he's been loyal to this little club, this little thing of ours", 'you're not standing by CG if you do business with KS', 'It's okay for Billy Tucci but it's not okay for Clint', "Do it at your own risk" (Malin), and so on.

Do what you want Clint, but "there will be blood". The threats aren't particularly subtle. I'm sure Clint got the message.

I still get email notifications from Clint despite the fact I haven't backed since his first campaign. You should look into mailing lists Nasser. They aren't exactly a new concept.

Fine, we will ask @FROG himself to clarify what he thinks about fellow CGERs using Kickstarter. Well EVS, if Clint or someone like Malin or Shane were to go over to Kickstarter would that hurt his standing with your side of CG?

If they completely miss your promotion of the book, then it doesn't matter how many platforms you sell it on does it? And if the person you're subscribed to on YouTube ALSO uploaded their videos to Bitchute as well, then it doesn't matter that you don't use Bitchute because you'll eventually come across it.

You see what I'm getting at? None of what you're saying is an argument against using more than one platform to sell books.

It's like that. Some people just won't find it if you shift around all these platforms, if they just use one. Like a Scott Snyder fan who buys all his books in the comic shop might be unaware of the new Comixology deal Snyder has.
Yeah, I can totally see how a Scott Snyder fan would completely miss the thing that was talked about on shit tons of YT comics channels and all over the comics press this week.

Again, you're using hypothetical situations in which a very small number of uninformed people are unaware of a product existing to justify not selling that product in more than one place.

Seems to be up again. Maybe just an error?

God I'm so fucking sick of wolves. There should be a three year ban on producing werewolf or vampire books.
(Joking, but just barely)

Ask @FROG why is it okay for Tucci to spit in the face of CG with KS campaigns while ungrateful Clint would be turning on the movement that gave him so much?

Seems like a double standard where respected pros do what they want but shitty little upstarts need to stay in line and pay "respect" to saint Zack who doesn't give a shit about them and makes new videos about how mainstreamers who hate him and CG aren't so bad.
(I'm starting to wonder if Zack is boning Mags)

Tucci may have used KS before there was a ComicsGate but so what? I don't see how that means it's not disrespectful (in Ethan's mind) to use them now that he has CG doing so much for him.

Double standards being what they are I don't expect an answer to this question from Ethan Soprano or Big Pussy, Malin.

It must have been an error, nothing interesting ever happens to or about Mark 'Possible Android' Poulton.

But on the subject of Zack and his creative future, I'm with you - I don't know why he's obsessed with digging out these shitty old public domain characters. Like do you really need Steamboat Willie (escaping Disney's clutches in 2024 I believe) in the Jawbreakersverse? Or some other old-timey underpant-man from olden day comics, it's surely too anachronistic to just bolt them onto his Jawbreakersverse.

Imagine if Zack was running Disney, that would be funny. Autistic child Predator would be harpooning Ewoks that got impregnated by Xenomorphs, before they turn into Xenowoks. That's how the Zack mind works.

Instead of diving headfirst into international IP law quagmires, Zack should just use my CG Title Generator, patent pending!

It's as simple as picking out some words from below:

Cyber
Ultra
Magic
Six-Gun
Shinobi
Starlight
Shadow
Blade
Samurai
Viking
Gorilla
Frog
Wolf
Devil
Pirate
Queen
Cop
Star(s)
Cat(s)

Literally just close your eyes and point your fingers at this list, and you've got a CG Comic ready to go. Magic Wolf! Six-Gun Pirate! UltraFrog! Cyber Viking! Starlight Shadow! Blade Wolf! Viking Cop! It's incredible this thing.

Loyalty to Zack for what? Would he feature a smaller campaign on one of his videos? Would he join a promotional livestream? I can't remember the last time he showed up to one of Frog's.

Zack wouldn't even be fucking aware of your loyalty.

yeah I’m not really understanding this loyalty to Zack. I mean the guy has done everything he can to trash his own brand and right now associating with him will only drag your own brand down.

I understand he’s the OG of this shit but, until he changes his ways and starts actually fulfilling his books it might just be better to leave Zack alone and let his dwindling fan base deal with him.
